The video was very nice. I believe what Francis said is very much true. I believe trials are necessary in life and especially necessary for people to change and grow.
For example, I was taking on 2 jobs for the company that I work for. I originally was just a waitress in their kitchen but all of the departments were short staffed for quite awhile. One department in particular that was suffering was the housekeeping department. I offered to help out for a good 3 week period while they had a housekeeper out on an emergency trip to see her sick mother.
No job is easy but it wasn't anything like I thought it would be. After a few days I saw just how hard these people work and what grief they go through sometimes. Some days are a challenge but I kept pushing myself and truly just wanted to make a difference to those people in that short period of time.
Soon a lot of other people started to recognize what I was doing and kept praising me. It felt nice but what felt the best was finally coming home after a hard day's work and being able to think,"I worked hard today." or "I did something really good today." Despite the rough days where I just wanted to stop or sit down I knew I couldn't. I don't regret my decision at all but only sad that I couldn't do more for them.
That being said I also have now realized for the people who have no choice but to work 2 or 3 jobs at once is such a huge responsibly or one can even go as far as saying a burden they have to bare just to make ends meet in life. That's when I knew I had to shape up and work just as hard in having one job and find time for school and to care for myself more often. In the end, when you really strive for something, you may have to go through a little grief and give up some thing but it'll be worth it in the end.
(That's what I got from the video at least. I hope it's relevant...)
