Upon crossing the thin bridge connecting the castle to the outside world one will be confronted with a set of thick oak doors that take several men to open. A rope hangs next to the door and connects to a bell. Those who are not soldiers with muscles to spare tend to have to use their whole body to ring the bell, alerting the residents of a visitor or a wagon full of new recruits. The large doors will be swung open with the help of a pulley system and one will be confronted with the site of the Main Hall.
The Main Hall boasts a very pretty image. With statues of past Death Knights and busts circling the room where there are only two doors leading out of it, and these are gated with strong metal. This castle is a very well protected thing, and in the event of a siege the castle architects didn't want to make it easy for the invaders if they managed to get to the castle. If one looks back they will see that there is also a thick gate behind the large oaken doors as first the doors then the gates slam shut and are locked and bolted with large pieces of wood and metal. But usually one's eyes are taken to the tapestries and painting of past Death Knights battles and triumphs.
The floor is engraved with the Death knight motto which is sadly not in common but a far older language that most do not know how to translate. Typically novices end up asking older residents the meaning. The whole main hall is a way for the Death Knights to show guests and new recruits the glory of their history and if anyone dares to ask about the story behind anything in it they are in for a long tale.
