"No less than the favorite of a goddess, named Aḻaku."

After calling the wind once more, she set out toward the east, silently thanking her goddess given abilities for the third time that day. She listened with curious interest as the girl, Ashoka, spoke. Caves, beneath the ground? They did need to speak with her tribe's priest. His affinity was for the earth, and his knowledge was vast. Perhaps he would be able to shine light on the ruin's use. "Maybe some of the tunnels led to cells, where they kept sacrifices..." she mused, fading off as the wind led her along a more diaganol course. The girl's last words caused her to glance back, but she looked forward again, keeping her question to herself. This girl sounded like more than an adventurer, and Alaku was suspicious of her means. Yet here she was, taking the andventurer and wanderer to her tribe, so the best she could do was remain upbeat.

Another half hour of walking later, Alaku could spot her tribe's homes against the upcoming trees. Every building was made of glass, though several portrayed a mural or shone with a hint of color. A smile crossed her face as she told the two behind her, "There is De Irvata. Home of the God's choices." She spoke proudly, and her pace quickened until they were close enough to see the figures of other people. Despite the time of night, her people would be up for an hour or two yet.

Once inside the tribe's limits the trio would have only been given a quick glance, if it wasn't for their leader's random appearance. Any person they encountered moved aside, as Alaku had resumed her usual confident stride, which meant she had somewhere to go and nobody should stop her unless an emergency was occuring. "Don't let your gaze move so much." she whispered to her two companions, trying to give them a quick tip. Not many people came into the tribe's lands; when they did, anyone who acted surprised was seen as inferior and for some reason unbeknowst to Alaku, she did not want her people to look down upon these two.

Despite the woman's warnings, Ashoka had trouble keeping from spinning in circles with wide, school-girlish eyes. This De Iravata was the most beautiful thing she had ever beheld. Wide stained-glass panels lined the campground, they were accented with iridescent mirrors that made the light dart about the place, casting light and leaving shadows in the most exquisite manner. Not to mention the ethereally glowing beings that were standing within the camp. Many of them cast downward glances as the trio passed through the room, and though their conversations had obviously been leisurely, one man in particular gave Ashoka a razor-sharp glance. She quickly averted her eyes and lifted herself upwards, striding beside him with faux confidence.

I like knowing where I'm going...

Simon was sorely tempted to look around perhaps let his jaw drop a little, but he decided it would be best to follow Alaku's instructions, keeping his eyes forward he inhaled as much detail as he could from his peripheral vision, the people who glanced at him either glanced with a curious expresion, or wrinkled their nose to display disgust of him, never hte less Simon kept at Alaku's pace not letting his eyes wander too much, or too far.

... but then again I almost never know where I'm going.

"No less than the favorite of a goddess, named Aḻaku."

Once past the crowds, Alaku was able to usher her two companions into her own house of glass. She entered after them, carefully shutting the door before turned to face them. She managed to qive them a quick smile, meant to reassure them along with her words. "Now you may look as you please." Of course, she had noticed the woman's wandering gaze as they walked, along with the twinkle of interest in the man's eyes, but they did well enough. The people of her tribe would continue to wonder, but none would be so rude as to interrupt them now.

Hearing a her door open, she realized that perhaps her thoughts had come to quickly. Sighing, she faced the newcomer, and a scowl crossed her expression as she realized who was here. "What do you want? Muru, I have guests..." She broke off, indicating the two before she spoke again, this time in the God's language. After several seconds, the man departed, obviously looking irritated but submissive. Alaku, on the other hand, had regained her calm demenor as she addressed her companions. "I apologize. Muru is one of my own guard. He was concerned about the two of you. We rarely have others pass through, and those that do are never invited by the leader."

She shrugged, then moved to sit on one of the several cushions surrounding a low table. It was made of wood, giving off a faint scent of willow trees. A girl entered the room, followed by a boy. Both carried trays of food, balanced perfectly from years of experience. The girl placed her burden down first, a tray full of an assortment of grapes, cheese and bread. The boy repeated the action, though his tray was laden with glasses of water. Alaku smiled, bidding them thanks and farewell, though she rose a brow in question when they lingered, obviously curious about the two strangers. "It seems my own successors do not know when they are being impolite." Her words caused the two to leave hastily, guilt from being chatised written on their faces. "Wanderer, Adventurer, please eat, and we will talk."

Ashoka blinked, having never been called "adventurer". Before she sat down, she gave a slightly more proper introduction.
"Just call me Ashoka for now, thank you. And if its not too much trouble, I'd enjoy knowing your names as well." With that, Ashoka sat herself down on a silken black pillow that was laced with bright turquoise accents. Taking the woman's invitation, she then popped on of the plump grapes into her parched mouth and crunched down. The thin film covering the fruit burst, sending fireworks of flavor prancing across her tongue. Ashoka quickly slowed down, tossing and turning the fruit inside her mouth in order to milk out every bit of juice left inside. Although she knew there was a bowl full of them right across from her. She felt slightly silly, but went on savoring it until there was nothing left.

I like knowing where I'm going...

"Likewise I'd rather be reffered to by name, that name being Simon Avalon." Simon said, whilst the title "wanderer" fit, he wasn't exactly enammered being referred to by it, he took his pack off and laid it down, rolling his shoulders after he did so, needing to get some blood flowing there, after that he sat down and began eating a grape whilst he prepped some bread with cheese, Simon realised his knife was still strapped to his belt, he decided his best move would be to detatch it from there and shuffle it by his bag, best that he, a guest of De Irvata, would not be armed, because carrying a weapon tends to show distrust, and he wanted to show that he trusted Alaku, and in turn De Irvata itself, after finisheing the grape Simon began to eat the cheesed bread.

... but then again I almost never know where I'm going.

"No less than the favorite of a goddess, named Aḻaku."

Blinking at the request her two guests made, she shrugged. In her tribe, calling each other by name was a rare thing; one would call to each other by the name of the god or goddess that had blessed them. Of course, she could understand that these two would prefer to hear their names, so she nodded in agreement. "Very well. I am Alaku." She'd looked to Ashoka as she introduced herself, since she'd already told Simon that upon their meeting. Reaching forward from her seat, she retrieved a glass of water then leaned back. She felt safe enough, and when the man disarmed himself, she smiled her appreciation at his thoughtfullness.

Sipping from her glass, she allowed the two to eat for a few moments before she spoke again. "Now, are there any questions you two would like to ask?" She set her glass down, knowing that if she was to ask for information from her companions then it would only be fair to do the same. "Or shall we just swap our reasons for being in the ruins?"

"I don't really have any questions per se... so I say we swap reasons of why we were at the ruins." he said, knowing full well he was only there because he was lost again.

... but then again I almost never know where I'm going.

"I'll start." Ashoka set down her fork and began to speak again, "I discovered the trapdoor in the ruins by chance, and ended up exploring it and the caverns beneath it in hope of either finding another exit or things beneficial to my er...financial state." She hoped that she wouldn't be judged for what she was about to say. Most looked down on scavengers. After an uncomfortable pause, Ashoka continued on, "I am what most would call a treasure hunter. I figured that the caverns and catacombs were bound to hold something worthwhile. All I found was a wine cellar." Ashoka grinned and pulled out an aged cask from her tattered canvas bag. "Odd, I know. But I'm confident this has aged perfectly. Care for some?

I like knowing where I'm going...

"My Story isn't nearly as interesting or even as good as that..." Simon cleared his throat, as one did when they began telling stories, "I've been going all over the place, just adventuring, or wandering if you'd rather, all though every day was an adventure in some way or another..." Simon chuckled slightly, "...anyways, I came to those ruins because they were the first buildings of any sort I'd seen for days, and their ruination was fascinating to me, thus I decided I'd try and decipher what happened here, how it happened and, circumstances allowing, finish the course of events so no-one else who settles there suffers that same ruination." Simon eyed the wine slightly, "I'm not fussed either way." he silently pondered about his sudden talkativeness, perhaps it was because this was the first company in weeks who hadn't tried to murder him on sight? Or maybe it was because he had a lot to talk about? Either way being among these people was comfortable and they seemed friendly enough.

... but then again I almost never know where I'm going.

"No less than the favorite of a goddess, named Aḻaku."

Listening with interest as Ashoka spoke, she nodded slowly during the pause, as if to indicate that she should continue. When the woman did so, she rose a brow, but did not comment on her chosen profession. She knew that there were such people, and she was aware that there were probably several teenagers of her tribe that looked to do the same. "I see... Turning her attention to Simon, she listened to his own story with an equal amount of interest. As he finished, she took a last sip from her water, then responded to the offer of wine. "That would be very generous of you, and I would indeed care for some." Replacing her glass on the table and allowing Ashoka to deal with the wine as a sign of trust, she spoke of her thoughts regarding her guests' stories. "From what I hear, I'm assuming that you two are used to travel. As such, know that De Irvata will always have a place for you to rest as long as I am leader." She flashed the two a smile, and then readjusted her seating as she prepared to speak of her own reason for being in the ruins. "As I told Simon when I first found him, the wind was my reason for being at the ruins today. However, I have spent many mornings and evening there, simply because they offered me something to study. The traces of magic I sense from some walls are rather intriguing."

Ashoka smiled, and poured Simon and Alaku glasses of the heavy crimson liquid. She didn't recall Simon asking for it, but not matter. She had been carrying the bottle around for too long, the wine was much too valuable for her to leave, yet she wasn't so stupid as to drink the bottle herself. This was the perfect opportunity. Ashoka sipped at her beverage, swishing it around in her mouth to fully recognize the prevalent earthiness of the Burgundy.
"Thank you, its always nice to know that I'll have a safe haven."Ashoka raised her glass in Alaku's direction, and took another sip.

"I'm honored at your hospitality." Simon said, sipping at the wine, admiring how well it had aged, then again... he was no expert on wine... or alcohol of any sort for that matter... "Anyways, how 'bout we pool what knowledge we have about those ruins? Or should we turn in for the night, discuss these matters tomorrow?" he asked, he was still curious as to why a village devoted to summoning satan or some demon of the like such would have a cellar... regardless he'd found unlikely allies in his journey but then again... wasn't that part and parcel of wandering about the place?

... but then again I almost never know where I'm going.

"No less than the favorite of a goddess, named Aḻaku."

Once the wine was poured, Alaku leaned forward to retrive her glass. After a sip, she was convinced that this wine had indeed aged well. Burgundy had always been a favorite of her's, but it was a rare enough substance in her tribe that she could appreciate when a good bottle was found. Still, she refrained from turning the topic towards the quality of their drink, and instead nodded to their thanks. Simon's question caused her to pause, then glance outside. Through the glass of her home she could see the stars, and when her gaze traveled downwards, she could see that only a few lingering people were outside. Most would be sleeping, and it wouldn't do to have a tired leader. Taking another drink from her glass, she stood, telling her guests, "Perhaps we should sleep. Tomorrow, we can speak of the ruins over breakfast, and mayhap return to the site as well." She looked back to Ashoka, awaiting her response as she sought out the roll-up mats saved for traveling guests. She would usually ask her two successors to retrieve them, but she was sure that they would already be in bed as well.
