UESP Walkthrough

This quest comes after the Goldenglow Estate mission. So it's, I think, the fourth quest you receive in the Thieves Guild, and the second one that involves leaving the city of Riften.

For a quest that's available so early on, I have never been able to complete this one. The first time I tried doing it, I did it without the walkthrough and didn't realize there was a really strong bandit wizard down there between all the skeevers. So what happened was I ran out of the basement and it stopped chasing me once I was fully outside of the building. I got the "OK" to turn in the quest even though the bandit wasn't dead, but my quest broke and I couldn't talk to Mallus anymore.

My second time around, I might have been a few levels lower than I was the first time. In the first room of the basement, I got two-shotted by the first skeever I come across. In heavy armor. Ee-yup.

I'm trying so hard to play the game without cheating. And then there's people out there who complain that the game is too easy and then I feel really bad. Come to think of it, I'll go check right now what my difficulty slider is set to.

I had it set to Adept, so I'm gonna give it another go on Apprentice. gonk I feel a little bit ashamed.

My first bout with the dragon at Shearpoint...Kai got her little bosmer behind toasted.

And she seems to have issues with lightning mages. Which is weird since she herself is one.
