User Image Espia wanted fried dough. Unfortunately she had a very bad habit of not carrying money on her person. In a case like this, she would have just snatched what she wanted from the vendor stall and disappeared into the crowd. Snatching fried dough would get her burnt fingers however. Plus she wouldn't have a chance to top it with ample amounts of powdered sugar, chocolate syrup, and caramel sauce the way she liked it. So she had to rely on her second option. Which was picking pockets of the unwary until she managed to steal enough money to buy what she wanted.

Unfortunately all the ones she was passing lately seemed to be young ones. Espia had little in the way of moral restrictions, but stealing from a young one never sat well with her. She stopped to watch some child with what she assumed was a parent at a game booth. The happy smile on the kids face as their parent paid the vendor for the right to play at the game...the way they smiled so excitedly when handed the balls. It warmed her heart to see them in their joy here. The child would not have had such a delighted expression if their parent had found out their wallet was missing. She couldn't do that. She couldn't ruin a child's experience at the carnival. It would ruin them to the delights of her beloved God.

So she crouched on top of bench and thrummed her fingers over her bottom lip while considering what other options she had for getting herself her treat
