Upon entering the gym, Alyss took one glance around. "Hello, is anyone here?" She asked. She hoped that she could get her challenge out of the way so that she could move on. "Let's not waste any time then," the Leader responded, gesturing towards the arena. Once both combatants were in place, the leader began the battle by releasing his first Pokemon. "Go, Farfetch'd!" In a flash, the brown duck appeared, brandishing its onion as though it was a sword.

She nodded once he motioned towards the arena, moving into place. She watched as he sent out a Farfetch'd, and stared at it. A leek...she didn't give it much thought before calling forth Xavier. "Charge your energy!" She called out and he started to charge up electricity to his mane.

The Gym Leader knew he only had a small window of opportunity to work with whilst the Blitzle charged up and intended to make the best of it. "Hit him, Farfetch'd!" he ordered swiftly. "Let's open with Fury Attack!" The duck didn't bother replying, understanding all too well the urgency of the situation. It sprinted forwards as fast as its webbed feet could manage, swinging the onion sword in tight arcs at the much-larger zebra Pokemon. The ghost of a smile flickered across the leader's face at the sight of the tiny Pokemon rushing the Blitzle. Say what you will about Farfetch'd, but you can't beat its fighting spirit.

A frontal charge? That seemed risky but with the right moment she could catch him off guard. "Don't let it catch you! Dodge the best you can!" She called out, watching Xavier as he started to move away from the Farfetch'd. She was fortunate for the first hit to miss, but she watched the rest land a blow on Xavier. "Very well...counter with Shock Wave!" She called out. She knew this was an attack that would be able to catch her opponent since he was right there as the charged up electricity went out in a wave around her Blitzle. I just gotta be careful. Don't want to lose Xavier just yet. She thought to herself.

The Gym leader sighed as his Farfetch'd took the brunt of the electric attack. He'd yet to witness a battle where his Farfetch'd was anything more than a suicide lead. "Nice job, Farfetch'd," the Gym Leader called out as he recalled his fried duck. He didn't really expect it to take down the Blitzle, but he'd have to do something about the zebra or it would sweep his entire team. After a moment's deliberation, the leader had selected his next Pokeball. "Go, Pidgeotto!" he called out, releasing the falcon-like Pokemon. "Let's use Whirlwind!" The bird responded swiftly, flapping its wings to raise a tunnel of air that tossed the Blitzle back to its trainer.

All right one down! Alyss had a small cheer as the Farfetch'd went back to its Poke ball, but the next call was one that helped her a little, but it was also one that could potentially hurt her. In place of Xavier came forth Tigres, so she wasn't about to waste a minute. "Lower its defenses! Leer!" She called out. Any advantage she could get right off the bat she was going to take.

The Gym Leader cared nothing for the Shinx's Leer, instead focusing on something completely different - the fact that it hadn't used an Electric-type move. If it had known Spark, the girl would've used that already. This meant that he had a slight chance to inflict damage and eliminate at least one of her Electric-types. "Return Pidgeotto!" the Gym leader commanded. Once the Pokemon had been safely recalled, he went for his third and final Pokeball. "Let's go Woobat!" he called as he tossed the sphere out. In a flash, the tiny bat-like Pokemon appeared. "Let's open with Heart Stamp!" The bat wasted no time in answering, flexing its nose to send a pink, heart-shaped wave of energy at its opponent.
((Are we using dice rolls to determine the secondary chances of moves? If so, let me know, 'cause I'll need to roll for confusion.))

So the gym leader decided to send something else out? This bat wouldn't be a fun target to fight.That Heart Stamp wouldn't be good on her either, but she decided it would be a fun target to face. The Heart Stamp landed, and she decided to retaliate. "Tackle!" She called out, Tigres charging and launching himself up at the Woobat.
