I thought Harvest Moon just had a new game not long ago. I dunno, I'm having trouble having interest.

they did release a new game I don't remember when but now they are making another but theres no official release date yet, you can always play the old ones first, thats how I got into them

I believe you're referring to A Tale of Two Towns. They released a version for the DS and the 3DS, although I think the only differences were graphical. This will be the first Harvest Moon made specifically for the 3DS. Hopefully they won't screw it up.
