I can see why Nintendo opted out on the second circle pad. The DSiXL was made specifically for older people who needed a larger screen to read the text, and I think the 3DSXL is following in the same footsteps. The Eshop is a better way to sell games to an older audience because they don't have to deal with a bunch of game cartridges, hence why they included a larger memory card.
When you think about it, how many games actually use the second circle pad? So far, all I can think of is Metal Gear Solid 3D, Monster Hunter, and Kingdom Hearts: DDD. None of them have any appeal to an older audience, so the point would be moot, plus the fans would be demanding a regular sized 3DS with a built in right circle pad. The only flaw with this is that Nintendo now needs to create a Circle Pad Pro XL.
I personally don't plan on getting it, but the larger screen would be good for Netflix and Nintendo Video, and the larger touchscreen would be good for Art based games.

It was a cigarette burn on an open wound when they presented all gameplay videos on the 3DSXL. Did anyone else notice the details of it? The homescreen/Select and Start buttons are now much different. Also, it looks like the shell of the handheld is made of a different, possibly better material. It hasn't been a year since I've bought my 3DS, and this comes out. Did anyone else have an NES Zapper to their heads? emo

I think I like matte a bit better since its less fingerprint-y though the shiny does have a certain lustre. I think people have said it wasn't this long between the phat and the Lite though. It just feels like it hasn't been that long since the system only has a handful of truly great/big games.

It seems to be very cool 3nodding However I doubt that I'll get it since I'm very happy with my nintendo 3ds right now.

I'm not interested in a system that I can't fit in my pocket. in spite of its improvements it's still just a 3DS, I like mines just fine.
