Name: Saoirse Specie or race: Human Social Class: Middle Age: 28 Powers: None Talents: None Chosen: Mael Specialization: Owner of the Rose and Rein, a tavern known for its beer Background: Saoirse was born late to a poor tavern keeper and his wife. Growing up, she never tired of learning everything they had to teach her about the business and the people, because she never had a doubt as to what her future would hold - she was going to take over the tavern and make it prosperous, like it had been in ages past. She couldn't get enough of her father's tales of knights and lords of the King's Court stopping in their humble town merely to sample the food and drink of their tavern. But the decline of trade also meant the decline of their business, so that now they struggled to stay afloat, barely making enough to break even in the best seasons and not quite that in worse. Nor did it help when her father's soft heart let him forgive too many bills from folk poorer than they. Nevertheless, she was happy with her life.
A terrible wasting sickness swept through the town during her 19th year of life. With no healer living in the town, many people soon sickened and died, including her much beloved parents. Though Saoirse mourned deeply, she knew she couldn't let the collectors take her home. So she worked as hard as she could, taking on as much extra debt as she dared to renovate the tavern and advertise as far as the capital, even finding and employing a famed cook who wanted a decently quiet retirement. Though it took several years, business slowly picked up, so that nearly 10 years later, the tavern had become a bustling place of good food and better beer. Saoirse renamed her place the Rose and Rein, after the Azrein who were just beginning to reappear across the isle, in the hope the luck of the fabled creatures would bring continued prosperity to the place.

Personality: Saoirse is tough and brash, with a temper as fiery as her hair. Despite that, she has a kind and loyal heart, never forswearing that which she believes in. She is proud of her tavern and quick to defend both it and her friends against any insult. She is quick with a laugh and a joke, having learned many ways of diffusing hard situations through her years in the tavern
Description: Cropped red hair (wavy when long, but she keeps it short because she considers it much less trouble), dark blue eyes, pale skin covered with a profusion of freckles, three silver studs in each ear. When running the tavern she wears a long brown ruffled skirt, simple white shirt with short sleeves, a leather corset over the shirt (around her middle, with straps over her shoulders, leaving her chest and upper back open), and simple leather slippers to protect against glass or nails. She changes out the skirt for pants of the same material when she goes out.
