I recently posted this in another gay Gaia guild (yay alliteration!) and I thought it might be of interest to some people in here too.
-------------------------------------------
Anyway, I happen to be a big fan of webcomics, and I follow quite a few of them. I decided, for those out there who also enjoy them, to put down a list of all the (non-pornographic) ones I read that center around LGBT characters. If you know of others I missed that you read and enjoy, please share them too.
Abel BoddyCenters around Howard, a less-than-romantically-successful gay man, and his buff gay guardian angel/sex god Abel. Sometimes dirty, but not too extreme.
Capitol HillbilliesDaily lives and sexual exploits of a group of gay friends in the Capitol Hill area of Seattle. The most sexually explicit comic on this list.
Finn and Charlie are HITCHEDA charming comic about a middle-aged gay married couple in the mid-west. Based very loosely on elements from the author's real life, and a nice portrait of a stable, healthy, long-term gay relationship.
Straight AheadLargely chronicles the coming out process of a deeply-in-denial protagonist with two imaginary friends/guardian angels who are each trying to get him to move forward, but in somewhat different directions.
Down and OutA relatively new comic that centers around the life of the semi-autobiographical protagonist and a few of his friends living in Montreal's gay district.
Amazing Adventures of BillA long-running journal comic written by/about the everyday life of Bill Roundy, a middle-aged gay man living in Brooklyn.
Girls With SlingshotsThis is not a strictly gay comic, but I included it here for three reasons. The first is that it has several LGBT characters who are central to the plot. The second is that it recently did a plot line about open relationships which I think was very well handled. The third is that, as you may have noticed, I'm not really versed in lesbian webcomics and I wanted to include at least one that the girls might relate to.
I've heard the names of a few lesbian webcomics, like
Peggy and Aggie and
Flipside, but I don't read them so I really can't give you a description. Those two may also be NSFW, I can't vouch for that one way or the other. So, you know, advance with caution.
