APPEARANCE
Ceana is pale and thin. She is obviously healthy by the smooth softness of her skin, but her arms hold a thinness that show her life does not include much hard labor. It also shows that she is not lucky enough to eat as well as a noble lady would. She's medium height (5'5") and carries herself light on her feet. Her hair can be found in any variety of hairstyles, a green so dark that it's generally considered black. Only in the glare of white day could the green tone come through.
Ceana, by some, would be considered beautiful. Her thin frame lacked curves, breasts small even with the assistance of corsets and hips considered unfit for bearing children by the looks of them. But her milky white skin was lovely, her hair silky and cared for, and her high cheekbones serve as a display for very large round eyes. They were the palest shade of white-blue and to some so large that her gaze could be unnerving, almost alien. It also made her look younger than her years and she is well acquainted with using this to her benefit. She has a small, plump pink mouth that always carries a trace of amusement and is very quick to smile.
Other than her almost-alien eyes her most signature asset was the body art that decorated up her hands and legs. Tattoos, black and white and colored, shapes and animals and words. The ranged in skill from poor, to excellent but only seemed to be on her hands, arms, legs and feet. If she had others, none would see under the layers of clothing, a mishmash of fine fabrics, leathers and fur. Her unique position in society sometimes afforded her fine things but for the most part she would dress like any other 'middle' class member of society.
PERSONALITY
Caena's mother was a hunter and her father an herbalist but she was sent to her Master at an early age to begin her apprenticeship. She is independent, curious, playful and strong willed. Her master, over the years, instilled patience, determination and a desire for perfection. He also passed to her his knowledge of business sense. To Ceana, her Master was the peak of what a man should be, and she places every man she meets in his shadow.
Her favorite thing in the world is color. Color brings happiness to others and Caena enjoys bestowing that through her art.
She's a shrewd business woman in the market, skilled in barter and quick with a tongue lashing for larger men, bullies and unknowns who think her gentle appearance means that she is some wilting lily. To her favorite vendors she is simply a friend and colleague, though always willing to work for the better deal. She is known as an artist by word of mouth but she has fought and worked hard the last several years to achieve that reputation. She has in intense drive to excel.
She is determined but not ambitious. She seeks only to advance in her art and hope that in time it will pay her back. She is fond of handsome men, very handsome men. There is an equal weakness for polished nobles as there is for the toned and tanned hunters. She courts many suitors though they do not all get from her what they want. She has a tendency to be fickle, quick with kisses only. Because of this they come and go, unhappy that she can not often be bought and that their gifts do not bare a little more of her flesh for them. She is uninterested in children but would not turn down the right man, should he come and accept her exactly as she is. The truth is that she holds men at an unreal expectation. Perhaps Ceana is a bit unyeilding, unwilling to change her habits or quirks for anyone.
Ceana is a secret keeper. Part of her business is the recording of one's deepest wishes, dreams and secrets onto the flesh. She has seen the naked flesh of noble and criminal alike. Tattoos have many uses. She would never reveal anything a client did not wish, even if it is not specified. Her conversations are kept private and she would never be considered a gossip. This doesn't stop her from wanting to HEAR gossipy stories. She considers gossip to be a guilty pleasure.
ABILITIES
Caena isn't very strong but she is light on her feet. She has nimble fingers, precision and patience. Her fighting ability is rather nonexistent. She can slash a knife when cornered and that's about it. She doesn't enjoy verbal confrontations with people and usually laughs them off or walks away.
She's a clever business person and has a knack for trading her skills instead of selling them. She will often accept goods as payment, any lowly peasant can have a beautiful tattoo if they have something of value to trade, or simply something she happened to need at the time. Nobles often offer gems or gold but she prefers favors. A favor, kept in good word, was worth more than any treasure. Of course her wise business sense has benefited her and while not wealthy, she is comfortable in her reasonably frugal lifestyle.
Her primary skill is her tattooing. She was taught by her master before her. He is now dead but taught her tips of the trade and left enough lingering contract attachments for her to fall easily into his empty foot steps. It has been several years and she has built a client base. She is not picky as long as the trade is right. She is very good but would never claim to be the best. She knows various different methods of tattooing as well as the salves and healing presses involved in healing process. When business is slow, and for extra bits of income, she sells some of her paintings or sketches.
HOBBIES
While not meeting with a client she is often found at home above her shop. Her rooms are filled with things. Many things. Collections of things. She enjoys painting and hangs her works on the walls. She has a few luxury gifts and fabrics from clients and suitors but they mix and mingle with the usual things, gifts that were hand made or scavenged. To her the sentiment is still there, even if it is simply a necklace woven by a hunter or some large animal tooth she was given. Every piece reminds her of a suitor, some handsome man who has passed from her life or who would soon be coming to visit, setting her heart a flutter... until he inevitably said the wrong thing or his own patience with her wore thin. She enjoys singing while she paints and her voice is sweet but rather unremarkable.
