SammehTron Btw, last year when my sister went to Texas on a church trip with her friends, she was horsing around with one of her friends. She had flip-flops on, and when the boy's shoe caught with her foot, it ripped her big toenail completely off.
That, made me cringe a bit.

How I had to get stitches once is just so ridiculous and my friends joke about it so often.
Okay so once upon a time, 9 years ago (Wow, it's been that long already?!) when I was but a youngin' (I was actually 9 then), I had this Karaoke machine and when my grandma was in town, I decided to put on a fashion show for her and announce each fashion. (BG info. At that time, I was very skinny since I was nine and was freakishly tall for my age so I wanted to be a model.) Well, we have this stone fireplace and that's what my machine was on and at one point, I dropped the mic and I was wearing my mum's heels so when I squatted down to get it, I some how tipped over and hit my knee on the edge of the fireplace. I didn't feel a thing but suddenly I felt stuff dripping down my leg, looked and saw more blood then flesh so I screamed and cried and my mum carried me to her bathroom where she was going to patch m,e up but I had my hand over the cut the entire time so she hadn't seen it yet. I finally moved my hand and she calmly said "Ohhh, owww. That looks like it hurt. Awww. Well, I'm going to tell Grammy how you are." and she left. Now, my mom forgot that she left a mirror leaning against the wall so I scooted myself over to it, removed my hand, and screamed once more. My mother tells me that she literally facepalmed, remembering the mirror. So then she took me to the hospital, I cried and almost peed my pants, the lady sewing me up was horrid, the nurse guy was very cute, though too old for me, so I was calmer than usual. They had to put 5 numbing shots into my gash and I still could fel quite a bit of pain. I had 9 stitched though i should have gotten 18. they took the stitched off too early and therefore, it opened again and now I've got this beautiful scar. Now, I no longer wish to be a model and we also have foam edges on our fireplace. xD

B1g_crunch I've split my middle finger when I was 5, and it still looks like a butt. I've also cut off the very tip of my thumb by accident. There wasn't any blood on the piece that got cut off, but the rest was gushing. Just a few years ago I stabbed my thumb while in art class. I bit off my tongue as a baby as well. Ouch! I got hurt and bleed, but I have never cut anything off before. Also, to creator of topic and anyone who did this, I am so sorry.

once i was using a slip n' slide and i tripped on grass and landed on the sidewalk, leaving a gigantic gash on my left abdomen. also when i was little i had a blood deficiency that made it so when i bled, it wouldnt stop bleeding cause my body lacked something. so they fixed that.

Let's see...
Broke my leg on a trampoline when I was three when the girl who was babysitting me tried to make me "fly." [In her defense, she was only about nine. She lived across the street from us.]
Lost the nail off my right big toe when I was playing hide-and-go-seek. I was hiding behind a door [barefoot] when my sister thought it would be funny to smoosh me between the door and the wall.
When I was ten, I had a long, rusty nail go through my left flipflop and into my heel when I accidently jumped on it when I freaked out after seeing a garden snake. It was one of the stupidest moments in my life.
Lost the nail off my left big toe when my friends and I went bowling. One of them was trying out an unbelievably heavy ball that she couldn't hold it, and dropped it right on my foot. Over the next month, it slowly turned all green and peeled off. Very. Very. Very slowly. Not really painful, just annoying, because it oozed pus and itched. [The doc said I had the leave it alone, and let it fall off in its own time. The crazy kook.]
Two years ago, I caught Mono... from the water fountain at work. I spent the next six months sleeping my life away.
Last year, I slept walked off of my bed and broke my arm in three places, one on the growth plate. [It was a bunk bed, top bunk bunk, obviously.]
I'm just grateful none of these things will permanently affect my life, like losing part of a limb [or digit] will. My heart goes out to you, man.

"Dude....you poor bastards. I don't think I have had any of these gory injuries. Scrapped knee here, Mono there, a little 98 or something fever. but nothing that severed or threatened possible severance of something attached to me. Though I did lose my mind once, I got it back of course."

For a minute it did, and as long as people are bringing up sprains I might as well bring up my 2 sprained ankles and sprained knee.

I hope It heals quick. Just try not to ram it into anything.
I can't say I know the pain of cutting off a piece of a finger, but I learned at a very early age that my family must have a gene of cutting of fingers. My grandfather's bother at the age of 3 put his hand on the chopping block while my Grandfather was cutting wood and lost his pinky and ring finger. Then my grandfather lost a couple tips of his fingers with some kind of power tool, and when I was 9, I saw my dad cut of two of his fingers on a table saw, on accident. My brother was lucky and only lost his thumb nail in a chipper. So I stay away from power tools.
Though I have not lost any finger, I think the gene that runs in my family has mutated in me, to unlucky accident gene. I broke 3 of my finger while playing soccer and had to get pins put in. And about 3 years ago I was shot in the knee by a rifle while I was on vacation. I have had other accidents but those are to two big ones.
