I'm trying to egg myself on to make a phone call. I dropped off a summer job application last Monday, and they were definitely still hiring at the time, and I figure that since I haven't been contacted for almost a week, I probably didn't get the job.

My friend tells me that I should try contacting the place since I've received zero confirmation or notification. I don't know the manager, or the manager's contact info whatsoever, and I can't find an email address anywhere, so I'm thinking that I should just place a call to the actual store. I feel like I should mention that I dropped an application last week and then ask if they're still hiring at this point and for the manager's email address or some kind of contact info. Or should I ask for the manager directly?

I mean, I feel like I would come off amateurish and annoying, but the worst thing that could happen is that I don't get the job, right? And I already don't have a job, so there's nothing to be afraid of?

The way I see it, my only two options with this one place are to walk into the store directly or to place a call. And then my next step would be to just move on and to look for jobs at other places.

contacting them is probably the better thing because it shows you really want the job. If they get a call for confirmation they like that kinda stuff. At least here in Pennsylvania. If you do, you could probably just ask any employee you speak to on the phone about the application and they will point you to the right person. That, or they will just tell you themselves.

It's true, not much to be afraid of. smile They want to know you want to work there, so all in all calling them about the application is good.

OH here, Brase spoke 100% of the truth.

There's very few places that contact you first. 3nodding
