Nanako was in a bit of a foul mood. It tended to be what happened after her biweekly dinners back at her parent's place. They were a chance for her father to make sure she was eating well and her mother to berate all her choices in life. It had started off weekly until Nanako thought she might kill someone and was forced to cut the visits back. She loved her father and hated not to see him, and the food sure beat the cheap instant stuff that she was stuck eating on her own, but the best she could do was tolerate her mother on a good day.

She walked up the stairs to her apartment, shoulders slumped and pouting like a child. It was all the usual stuff that her mother said, nothing new, so she should have been use to it by now but it had made her grumpy. Tired too, tired after trying to put on a happy face for her father. The stair case seemed impossibly large today, her apartment was on the sixth floor, but the elevator was been out again and so she had no choice other than the stairs.

Nanako felt exhausted when she finally got to her door. She fumbled with the keys for a moment and then fought with the door when she finally got them in, the lock had a habit of sticking. She shuffled into her bachelor apartment and dropped her purse and kicked off her boots, turning on the light and then making her way over to her bed and falling into it.

Maybe she would turn on the tv at some point and stay up watching the trash that was late night television, or maybe she would never move again, or at the very least not until tomorrow afternoon.

On that fine evening Masakaki had been in quite a bit of a roll. He had successfully delivered invitations to three rookie Entrés and was currently on his way to the fourth, some female by the name of Mori Nananko. What was it as of lately and all the young women being chosen to participate in the Financial District's affairs? For as long as he could remember, finance used to be a world populated mostly by men... of course, it was not his will and there were no criteria by which an entrepreneur was selected. It was merely luck, a twist of fate. It was pretty late for a visit, that much he knew, but there was no way he would postpone a meeting just because of such an unimportant reason. At the very least, this Nanako lived by herself so there was no harm done, no roommates or family to bother.

Thinking of this and that he slipped through the cracks of reality's fabric shifting locations in the blink of an eye. That was but one of his perks as the only representative of Midas Bank nowadays, when you belonged not quite here nor there and had to conduct as many special duties as he had it was only a natural gift to receive in order to be able to be everywhere on time. And speaking of time... he glanced at the clock on his wrist for a single moment before knocking on Mori Nanako's door, preparing his friendliest smile to greet her with once the door would open -knowing full well that it wasn't the most usual of things to receive a visit from some weird person, in an even more odd set-up claiming to be from some sort of unknown bank and it sounded somewhat dubious at the very least.

Half way to sleep when the knock came at her door, Nanako couldn't help but let out a groan when she heard it. Without really thinking she grabbed her pillow out from under her and threw it at the door. Her apartment was small enough that she actually managed to hit the door, though being a pillow it didn't do much. Now she had a problem though, she had no pillow. She had thought about ignoring the door but knowing she would have to get up to get her pillow anyways, she might as well.

She sat up and stretched before swinging her feet onto the floor and standing up. Nanako shuffled over to the door, picking up her pillow when she got there before opening up the door. She was going to say something kind of belligerent and use her tone to clearly demonstrate the mild annoyance she was feeling after being woken but she never quite got to the sentence. She stopped when she actually saw the man standing before her, he was kind of... interesting looking, and it took her tired brain a moment to process. "Can I uh, help you?" was what came out instead.

Masakaki waited patiently in the quiet of the dimly lit hallway. Even in the half-light his eyes retained their glint of pure gold, much like a cat's reflective ones in the darkness. As the seconds slipped by and he was about to knock once again, a thump against the door left his hand hanging in mid-air, a mildly confused expression on his features as he tried to understand the meaning behind it. Another second went by, then another, as he expected a reaction from the other side of the door, or a possible reply. Again, he reached to knock on the door when it finally did creak open to reveal the red-headed woman behind it.

"Good evening." he greeted her readily right after receiving her question. Smile back on his face, as he bowed dramatically as if he was just meeting the most important person in the entire world. "My name is Masakaki, I'm a representative of Midas Bank." words he had spoken a thousand times and would apparently speak another thousand for sure. There were new Entrés entering the Financial District almost every other day, after all. Economy was a cruel, unforgiving world after all. "I would like to discuss with you about our funding program." he simply stated the reason behind his visit. "If you would be as kind as to offer me just a little of your time..."

A salesman, really? Nanako wouldn't have guessed just from looking at the man but what more could she expect? Who else would come and visit her? While the words bank and funding did stick out to her, she wasn't exactly rolling in money what with being without a job but she didn't think she was really up for dealing with a sales pitch at that moment.

"Now isn't really a good time," she said and it wasn't entirely a lie. She wasn't busy, she was never busy but she really was tired. She wasn't sure how to precede from there, her father had taught her enough manners to never close the door on a person, but her bed was calling her and she really wanted to get back to it. Manners won out, at least a little, she pulled back from the door and closed it a margin more, making it pretty clear that she wanted him to go away.

Masakaki was almost prepared for the door that was about to close, leaving him outside but knew better than to simply intrude into a lady's home despite being fully capable to do so if he so wished. "Oh, but it will only take a moment, and I'm sure it will interest you." he said, in an almost pleading manner, as much as he could imitate that kind of emotion. "You're Mori Nanako, after all." he spoke as if it was the most obvious of things, like she had to comply because she was herself, in the end. "I do understand that it is an odd time, but I'm afraid it cannot wait." because when it came down to it, business was business and he couldn't do something about it. Delaying was out of the hand also, and as if programmed to do so he glanced down to check the time on the watch resting on his wrist for yet another time.

WIth his pleading, Nanako was starting to feel bad for the guy. Maybe he had some sort of quota that he needed to meet, given that he was kinda of odd looking she wouldn't be too surprised if he was having trouble with getting people to buy into things if they didn't just close the door on him. He was just a guy trying to do his job, she could understand that, a creepy guy who some how knew her name, but a guy none the less. With a bit of a sigh, she nodded "Okay, I guess I can listen to what you've got," she said as she opened up the door a little more again and leaning against the frame and dropping her pillow. Soon she would get back to sleep, soon.
