It was day like any other for Cedar. Lea had come and gone and she was just waiting for the afternoon hours to pass. The shop was quiet, that days crowd and busy hours came and passed. Now only a few straggles would come.
Busying herself behind the counter refilling the candy jars and other odds and ends Cedar hummed softly to herself. The mid afternoon sun's rays beamed into the shop's large front window. Little did the witch know that she would be about to meet a remarkable, and dangerous young girl.

 Aeronwen did not like going shopping, but since there was no food in her house she had no choice. With a sigh, she slid her doll to the floor, keeping hold of the wooden cross that allowed her to manipulate it. She had adjusted all of her puppets so that the head was always pointed up, giving her a good view of the world without giving away the fact that she was not, in fact, blind.
She waited until she knew the shop was less crowded before going in, keeping her face immobile as she worked her doll with one hand and 'searched' for a basket with the other hand. Part of her wanted to see if the humming shopkeeper would assist the poor little blind girl with her shopping or if, like most of the others she'd come across, she would just let her be to do it on her own. Either way, she wanted to get this over with so she could go back home to work on her latest puppet.

When the bell on the door jingled announcing a new comer, Cedar glanced over her shoulder. "Welcome to my shop." She said softly with a smile. "Is there anything I can help you with?" She asked, letting go of what she was working on to step around the counter.
It was then that she noticed the doll and blinked. The doll was standing on it's own, and it caused Cedar to shiver. There was always something a little eerie about dolls for Cedar. She never had one as a child, but she had teddy bears. Shaking her head a little, she looked back at the girl, who seemed to be fumbling trying to find a basket.
"Sometimes the baskets stick, if it's to tough to separate let me know." The shop wasn't huge but there was still a lot in it, and so it could be easy to miss something.

Mm...so she was a friendly shopkeeper. Aeronwen hadn't quite decided how she felt about that. "Thank you," she murmured softly, "but I think I would like to wander about on my own for now." A little twitch of the hand holding the cross brought the puppet's head around so she could better see the girl. She seemed to shiver and Aeronwen tried not to smirk. It was quite fun to shove others out of their comfort zone and see how they fared.
"Ah, I see," she said in response to the comment about the baskets. Finally her fingers found the edge of the basket and she was able to separate it on her own. A good thing, because she was not quite sure if she would have been able to ask for help so soon on her outing. With a little shifting, she managed to slide the arm of the basket over the arm manipulating her doll so she might have one hand free to 'search.' Stretching that hand out, she located the edge of the first table she came to and began her search for food: picking things up out of baskets and smelling them, feeling the skin before either putting them back or placing them in her own basket.
It was quite slow going, but she wanted to maintain her blind facade. Growing a bit impatient, she moved too fast and knocked over a basket of fruit. Cursing softly, she bent and subjected herself to true blindness as her puppet now lay on the floor, staring up at the ceiling whilst she searched for the fruit and basket.

The shop wasn't large and normally people liked to be left to their own devices, so she wasn't offended. She was about to turn around when the other girl accidentally knocked over one of the baskets of produce and unfortunately this wasn't something she could let the customer worry about. It wouldn't be proper, nor did she want to find that hte girl had stolen anything either.
With a quick couple of steps, Cedar's eyes glanced at the doll that was now looking up at the ceiling. There was something strange about it.. "Oh please don't worry about that. It wouldn't be right of me to have you clean that up." She smiled tucking her skirt behind her legs as she pulled the basket down to start putting the fruit back in. "Please continue shopping, I'll have these picked up and washed in a few minutes." Though Cedar did have some trouble figuring out how the girl had knocked it over. No one has done it before, unless she was just fumbling around.
Cedar looked over at the girl, and noticed that she seemed to be feeling around more then directly picking things up. Maybe the girl's eye sight wasn't that good. All the more reason for her to make sure the girl didn't get hurt either trying to do this.
