Could anyone help me out a bit? I like putting the paint thick on the canvas, but it rarely comes out right and I find myself too fond of white that my art teacher told me my figures look 2D... :c

Dont just add thick coatings of paint willynilly...do it slowly is small or mediate amounts that way you can easily paint over the mistakes. Dont rush it, take your time. If there is a time limit don't panic. Try using small/ medium sized brushes to practice. Just keep on practicing you'll get it c:
