I don't know.. I'm still getting used to their older stuff since I when I first started listening to Dream Theater, I got all the albums in backwards order!
I have to admit though, 'The Answer Lies Within' was really a song that caught my attention and won my heart at a first listen...
Generally, I like a mixture of their music, varying from songs like 'Under A Glass Moon' to 'Stream of Consciousness'. I don't know... I guess it all just depends on what mood I'm in!

"In the Name of God" rings true to the things we see in the world today. I like songs that discuss real-world occurrances, and that song takes the cake. 14 minutes and 14 seconds of pure bliss. All the instruments fall into place seamlessly. It's almost as though the previous 6 songs are building up for the grand finale on this one. And the piano outro (with the final F key played) is godly heart

If I had to choose one, I would have to choose A Change of Seasons. It's everything Dream Theater does well put into 23 minutes.

"'The Glass Prison' which once held me... " Yet it still holds me! This was the second Dream Theater song I've heard and the once that really hooked me into the world of DT.

I'm deadlocked between Octavarium, Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence and In the Name of God as ultimate.

Most ultimate song would have to be Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence! It is Their longest song, that I know of, and It is unbelieveable! To me, it tells this wonderful story, but the best part of it is just the emotion in the song! the first time I heard it, I cried!
