Powers and Abilities: She can shift her form to that of any animal she's killed. Unlike most shapeshifters, she does not need to wear the animal's skin the first time she becomes it. She can also change specific features if she concentrates on it, but she cannot completely become another person.

History: Huyana is a descendant of the Seneca tribe of New York. Her shapeshifter lineage can be traced as far back as the beginnings of the tribe. Her parents were killed in what was officially called a freak accident. A fire in their apartment due to a gas leak. But Huyana knows better. Neither of her parents was cooking or had any sort of open flame in the apartment at the time of the fire. And she heard cold, cruel laughter as the flames rose. Huyana was lucky enough to escape by turning into a cockroach and skittering out of the apartment, but her parents were not. They'd already been caught in the worst of the fire. Huyana fled to Central Park and has lived there ever since. She makes her living by playing guitar and singing in the park, and she gets a check sent to the P.O. box that belonged to her family every week so she can go to school.

Other: She has a long, thin, diamond-shaped birthmark over her heart. It looks almost like a scar from being stabbed with a very wide blade. She hides it, but the edge of the mark can be seen in the summer when she's wearing a tank-top.
