Not to sound stuck up or anything but I have made a promise to myself that if I ever win I would first give 10% to the church, then half to non-profit organizations, then a quarter to my parents for retirement, and keep the other quarter.
Now should my parents not want their 25% then I may be obliged to keep it for them ; )

I'd buy some land and put a small house on it for me and my family.
Then I'd make it to where I could open a no kill shelter for animals.
I would also give some to my parents and then I invest some in stocks and give the rest to other no kill animal shelters and random charities.

I'd get myself a new car to be honest. not a really decked out one but sturdy and will last long since mine seems on it's last leg. sad then I'd give some to missionaries abroad THEN I'd throw the rest into my folks retirement fund because they literally have nothing in savings.

Buy a house! And my own car so that I feel less bad when I inevidably wreck it! With whatever's left, I'd probably set up some kind of trust for my partner's son, and save some to donate to a few local non-profits whose work I very much support.
