Till Death Do Us Part

Your kisses silence my beating heart.
It shall surely ache once we part.

Forget me not, my beloved flower,
And I will meet you in an hour.

In secret, to the garden we flee.
There to be alone, there to be free.

Here in the place where we always meet,
Here you say things so soft and sweet.

"Run away with me to another land
Where I can safely hold your hand.

Away from all that keeps us apart
To a place that I may pour out my heart."

I agree and we part, reluctantly so
Only until midnight though

I wake and see that you are not there
I start to wonder if you care.

But poison, I find, has taken your life.
And I was to be your lovely wife.

The pain I feel is far too much.
My knuckles turn white 'round the knife I clutch.

Your kisses silence my beating heart.
Together forever, till death do us part.

Awww, i really love the flow of this poem. So easy and it paints a melancholic picture for me... somehow it kinda makes me think of Romeo and Juliet. lol. But I love the theme even though it is sad.

I also love your descriptions. Beautifully written! Nice job!

Oh?? lol. I see. Well, i love the play Romeo and Juliet. =) It was one of my favorites from shakespeare... even though, it's so cliche and all... and so tragic.... i still love the story. 4laugh

No problem! I love reading other people's poetry. ^^ Thanks for sharing yours!

Yes, I agree it is a lot like Romeo and Juliet... But Wasn't it Juliet thought to be poisoned, and Romeo stabbed himself?

Yes, I agree it is a lot like Romeo and Juliet... But Wasn't it Juliet thought to be poisoned, and Romeo stabbed himself?

In the version we read, Juliet was believed to have passed away in her sleep or something and when Romeo heard, he bought some poison and went to the place she was burried so he could be with her when he died. Before the sleeping potion Juliet had taken from the Friar could wear off, Romeo drank the poison and died. Then, Juliet wakes to find him dead and stabs herself with a dagger after finding there was no poison left.

Hmmm... come to think of it, you might be right. It's been a while since I've read it... (sigh) shame on me, for neglecting studies, then.
