There was at first the sound of a lone violin, slow and sweet, the melody winding its way through the forest surrounding the city in the place where we reside in. The tune began to build, slowly at first, but soon picking up speed and tone. At it's peak, a second instrument, an accordion now, began taking up the rhythm. The harmony was taken by a second violin, and soon a cacophony of instruments was making an introduction of themselves. All at once, the music seemed to stop.
Surrounded by the trees, a field beside the city of Lorsei holds the gathering of tents and vehicles, people and animals. The music starts again, this time fast-paced and open, inviting you to draw closer. The music is held within the Big Top, a few other tents branching off of it. Following down the line, the starts of a Carnival have also developed. Rides, food stands and other promises of fun begin developing on the grassy lands.
All the while, a house is being built. Two stories, long and narrow, on the wide back of a massive truck. The base had traveled with, but the top needed to be redone. The Haunted House, a ride famous for dates and thrill-seekers. Dark, maze-like, and frightening. Everything you would expect from the name... But more.
Porter Family Circus and Carnival comes with it's own legend. That the Haunted house is really haunted... That the performers in the circus secretly have strange powers that assist in their shows, rather than just depending on the illusions on the eyes... That the ringleader, Mors, is a demon. But those are legends.... And none have proven anything to be true.
Citizens of Lorsei, step right up to encounter the fun of a lifetime! Porter Family Circus and Carnival proudly presents themselves, and open their rides and their tents to you and your family for a time you'll never forget! Don't blink! Don't forget to breathe! Laugh, and enjoy! Experience a whole new world!

SettingThe City of Lorsei, a more rural city in a valley between two massive mountain ranges, surrounded by forested hills and a few lakes. Too large to be a town, but rather small for a 'real' city. It snows in the winter, rains in the spring, is muggy in the summer, and holds the more beautiful aspects in the fall. There are some larger buildings for some decent businesses, but no factories or main locations for anything other than local persons. [Good place for development, if anyone wants to make a good hangout 'spot' or general landmarks.] Set Up+Characters: The range of choices you've got for characters runs from the Circus and Carnival workers and performers, to persons in the city such as students, teachers, and the like. Really, a free-range as long as you can really fit it in. +Play: An average city, and a -seemingly- average circus and carnival. However, a little fantasy or super-freedom can be given, especially with circus performers and carnival workers. Rules+Follow ALL Guild rules +Follow ALL Gaia rules. +PG13 for the most part, as I'm not sure who all will be joining us. +Please put the title of your profile PM as 'Secret Secret' if you've read at least this far~ Profile SkeletonPlease PM these to me so I can get them listed down for everyone to see! +Username: +Character Name: +Age: +Gender: +Role: (Student, Carnie, Performer, etc. ) +Appearance: (No pictures, please! +Username: Tanakietsu +Character Name: Montgomery Acres (VI) +Age: 114 (Montgomery died at age 27) +Gender: Male +Role: Carnie/Dullahan +Appearance: Montgomery is a ghostly pale individual though not to the point of ethereality. Along with his bizarre skin tone, Montgomery has light blue eyes which could easily be mistaken for white, and his neck-length, wiry, and unkempt hair is toned platinum blond. Montgomery has no facial hair and no redeeming facial structure that would make him stand out from other people. If a passerby were to get into close proximity they might notice that there seems to be a line which separates his neck from his torso. Standing at an average five foot nine inches (5’9”), Montgomery has a less than stellar muscle density and appears to be nothing more than bones with clothes.
During the day as well as his shift as a carnie Montgomery wears the outfit assigned to him, a raggedy red and white, horizontally striped, long sleeved shirt paired with worn, brown trousers which are cut off at the knee. There are several holes on the front of his pants which have been patched up with square pieces of a burlap potato sack. Below the knee Montgomery dons white, knee high socks. His shoes are made of black leather and are the only fancy article of clothing he wears. Some accessories that were given to him to support his station as a carnie includes white, gentlemen’s gloves, a red top-hat which has some dark red/maroon stains on it, and several purple pins of mismatched sizes and shapes.
At night after his shift at the carnival Montgomery changes out of his clothes to put on an aged suit. All of the edges of his black jacket are frayed and the white, silk shirt underneath has shrunk so that the cuffs only reach down halfway between his elbow and wrist. The black slacks he wears matches his jacket in that the bottom of his pant sleeves are frayed at the bottom; the slacks have also shrunk, but only to the point his socks are barely showing between the pant leg and the (same as before) shoe. On the right collar of his jacket Montgomery has a purple “M” pin and the left is a purple “A” pin.
+Personality: During the day Montgomery is a lackadaisical, kind hearted soul who tries to blend in with the living as best he can, though only because he believes that he is still a living human being. His politeness and sense of etiquette are high, but his social skills are immature. In his naiveté he is unaware that he is constantly realigning his head to his torso and seems oblivious to the fact that a horse follows him wherever he goes. Montgomery is spectacularly afraid of the undead and supernatural and plays dumb whenever anyone says something about the netherworld or his current status as one of them. When confronted head-on to the point that he cannot deny the undead exist Montgomery typically undergoes a melodramatic break-down. When not dealing with the undead, Montgomery has an unexplainable fondness of turtles and sweet-tooth unrivaled by most. When working, he tries his hardest to maintain a positive and strong work ethic though his sweet-tooth can get the better of him at times. Montgomery is also unable to stand still and sometimes he may wander off for several minutes before returning to his post; however, he usually can sustain his need to be at his station by pacing back and forth.
When it is night and Montgomery is not working at the carnival or enjoying the day life his personality is taken over by his position as a Dullahan and he becomes a heartless and cruel reaper. He fulfills his job completely and should anyone see him that is not the citizen he is guiding to the next world he deals due punishment where due – usually placing golden seals, in the shape of a diamond on the eyes of those who see him, which attach to the person’s eyes for a week so they forget what Montgomery looks like. After the sunrise he forgets everything that happened when he works as a Dullahan.
+History: Before his death, Montgomery Acres (VI) was the son of a noble and was expected to act as such. Unfortunately for his parents and the high class world that awaited him, Montgomery had an unbelievable talent for being clumsy and socially inept. While he tried to uphold his family’s reputation it was painfully clear that his younger brother, Theodore Acres, was more suited as the family heir.
Shortly after his twenty-seventh birthday Montgomery was informed that he was to be wed for political reasons. Nervous about meeting this woman, Montgomery had confided in his brother and in order to help calm his brothers nerves Theodore decided they would meet the future Mrs. Acres together. Several weeks passed and eventually his parents had his future wife brought to their manner. Montgomery, together with Theodore, came to the foyer where the mystery woman was to wait for her future husband’s arrival. The moment Montgomery and Theodore rest their eyes on the woman, Francesca, they fell immediately in love with her. As the night passed it was clear Francesca too liked Montgomery and Theodore was quickly left out of the evening long conversation. From that day forward Montgomery and Francesca were together and the seeds of jealousy grew in Theodore.
Through some of his sources, Theodore arranged for a trap which would lead to Montgomery’s beheading. A few weeks before the wedding, a man masquerading as Montgomery was witnessed leaving a residential with a prostitute. News spread like wildfire and when Francesca’s father heard of this the Acres reputation was smeared and demand came for Montgomery’s beheading. When Montgomery could not defend his alibi properly he was found guilty and his beheading was set for the day before his wedding. The night before his beheading Montgomery had three visitors at his cell. The first was his brother Theodore who admitted to what he had done with nothing more than pride in his tone. He was next met by his dear Francesca who pleaded to Montgomery that she help him escape and they run away to elope and live together. Montgomery reassured her that she would be taken care of even in his death (Francesca was married to Theodore in Montgomery’s place reconcile the Acres’ reputation). The last visitor was his father. As his father relayed his regret in allowing this situation to occur a giant of a man riding a horse stormed in. The man held his own head in his arm and stopped behind Montgomery’s father, taking the life of Montgomery Acres (V) forcefully by shouting his name. Montgomery damned the Dullahan for taking his father and as the Dullahan was about to smear him in blood it recoiled in fear at Montgomery (V)’s golden pin. In the action of the Dullahan’s recoil the blood splashed about and a small portion fell into Montgomery (VI)’s mouth which caused him to enter a state of seisure. The next morning the police found the dead body of Montgomery (V) and the unconscious body of Montgomery (VI).
Montgomery (VI) was rushed to the block and was not woken up before the executioner began to prepare his axe. Once everyone had assembled the executioner brought his axe down and severed Montgomery (VI)’s head with a single swing. The moment Montgomery’s head rolled off his torso his eyes lit up and he regained his consciousness. The crowd fled the scene in horror as Montgomery’s torso sat up, grabbed his head, and began asking what had frightened people so much. Eventually assessing the situation Montgomery searched for a wooden rod and forced it down his torso at the neck and attempted to reattach his head. While his head never fully reattached (it still slides horizontally upon erratic movement) he attempted to reconcile with society under a different name for the day’s duration. During the first night of his beheading Montgomery was greeted by the reaper and was informed of his new role. Refusing, he swore he could never in good faith perform the job that took his father. The reaper then cursed Montgomery so that he would still perform his duties but would lose his consciousness and memories of what occurred. Because of his curse Montgomery was also forced to use his proper name and lost his memories of the twenty-seven years he was alive.
A few weeks of wandering later Montgomery was hired as a circus carnie. Eventually after decades he came to be working at Porter Family Circus and Carnival where he works whatever job is needed.
+Other: Because he is of the unliving, Montgomery can take physical damages without feeling pain. He cannot bear the sight of gold metal (the color is fine) in any form. A black horse named Treason (a name branded on the flap of his saddle) follows Montgomery around everywhere he goes, but Montgomery cannot see it while others can.
