It's a pretty deep feeling knowing the me of five years ago would think my current self is off her rocker and on the bullet train to hell. Here it goes, I'm about to confess some feels, feels I've not confided to a lot of people. To be honest I might sound kinda silly, but you must note I'm in the bible belt where hinting towards these thoughts can get me defriended by half my friends of facebook.

Like I'm not too sure the big man is paying too close attention to this planet or space in gen. I often think he's got everything on cruise control and we just gotta steer. Take care of nature and it's many living creatures for the future generations of every species, be a good person, live life to it's fullest capacity and all that.
This thing with North Carolina is bothering me greatly too, I can't grasp the beef people have with homosexual couples getting married. Everyone is all "love is love" but if two dudes or ladies want to get married suddenly there's a conspiracy going on. If they do get married just for the perks, heterosexual couples can do that too. If the bible says it's a sin, all of them are seen equally anyway. If this beef is about maintaining tradition, traditions change and traditions die out.

I really hate to come down hard on religions but the movement to a more agnostic-atheist viewpoint is going to be coming up by storm when the 4th-5th generations of today finally die out. By the time I'm 60 religion will have decayed, and by a great margin. It's also by no bad means that it's coming to be this way. People are just coming to realize that sometimes they have to think for themselves and when questions arise they can't just accept, they have to continue questioning; they have to strive to grasp the answer: the answer that so many religions just cannot satisfy.

So often I was told during youth group that some things in the Bible are taken figuratively, and I understood that, but "figuratively", i.e. "theoretically" means roughly that it's not proven to happen as it's explained the way it's explained. And then how can we dictate the line of the religious texts when some parts are to be taken figuratively and other parts literally. Where's the line? You see, there is no line and that's the problem.

Also, I note that you're a redditor. People who frequent reddit and expect to stay strong on their religious standpoint are going to have a bad time.

I don't think religion is going to decay until something else can fully take it's place. Religion.... gives people something to live by and makes the questions that can never be answered easier to live with.

My church's ex youth leaders always kept kinda quiet about that line. Whether you took the lesson as a figurative one or a literal one, all the lessons where formulated to where that didn't really matter and the line was wherever you wish to place it. They could drive a point home and they could remain interesting enough to get you to come back again. It's a shame not more are like this. Even if it's maybe not the most church-like thing to do, it's greatly appreciated not to feel like the odd duck or a lost soul that's going to get some serious guilt tripping because you're not 100% sold.

True fact about reddit. r/atheism loves prodding at the kind of people I know all too well. ಠ_ಠ

r/atheism is harsh. VERY harsh. Sometimes I can't even stomach some of the things that I see, though having no faith myself. They do bring some good points about what atheism is, though, and I appreciate when there are discussions about the nature of atheism. When they begin bashing on reasonable faithful queries, I tend to become somewhat ashamed that I'm in any way affiliated with some of these people.

I pretty much think the same as Toon. Although my mom prays every day, I stopped going to church when I was very little, but I still somewhat have belief, and if anything faith. Confusion is only part of growth. I don't have a way of explaining what I believe in, nor do I really want to, but I think the confusion's helped me.

btw, if you got a call from me for facetime by accident, it was because I had just got done talking to my bro, and I accidentally called you while chasing my neighbors dog down the street... for good reason. emotion_yatta

@Prince: Like the advice animals subreddit, the r-atheism is best not to be looked into beyond what's on the front page. I always enjoy the debates about religion in political views and education. And sometimes I see stuff that makes me break into a fit of giggles because I had to put up with it in church. Like, I had to watch Kent Hovind's video series of crackpot conspiracies. I won't lie and say it wasn't entertaining, but it's hard to keep a serious face when that guy starts shooting off tall tales of chilling with some forest natives that hunt and eat triceratops like it's no big dealio. @Brase: I've missed your deep words. You didn't accidentally facetime me, do not fret! And I'm still doodlin' those doodles you asked me to do, I'm just bein' a slowpoke about it all. D:

On another note people on facebook are pissing me off again, it's like Fox News vomited on my newsfeed.

Gaia tends to bring out the deepness. rofl No worries, I am glad you're taking your time. For these kinds of things you need to be in the right mood and mind set. I look forward to it whenever you are ready. Ah man... I have a zillion ideas, but I don't wish to rant about them. Unfortunately, that's something else Gaia tends to make me do. I now have two projects in the making... time to do some more work on them.

The joys of Facebook. Mine was quite literally an emotional roller coaster of drayma I had to log on and look at every tiem.
