Biography: Dio was born on Kiffu to a set of parents, both former Jedi who had forsook the order because they had fallen in love. As a Kiffar Child, Dio learned to fight using traditional weapons, and was taught to use his ability to read the memories of inanimate objects well.
As a boy he remembers his clan feuding nearly constantly with their neighbours, with raids common on both sides. Dio's parents would take part in this, and as a child Dio wondered if these former jedi, who had once sworn to protect and serve but now took lives in a blood feud almost constantly, had fallen and were now evil.
When he was a teenager, Dio went on a pilgrimage to find out the truth of his parents lives, and to see if he could divine what had made the life of a jedi so hard to live by.
While using a personal craft provided by his clan, he was attacked by a band of space pirates. As he attempted a jump to lightspeed, his engines were damaged, and he was sent careening off course, finally stopping in the depths of the Unknown Region's.
It was here that Dio met what would be the most damaging fate of his life, his ship was picked up by a Yuuzhan Vong Worldship, this single massive ship had been searching through space looking for a habitable world, when they found Dio, not knowing who or what he was, they showed him true pain.
Subjecting him to the most painful of torture, and denying him even the most basic rights, he was treated like less than a living thing, and then eventually as a slave to the vindictive master of the ship.
Here Dio changed, vowing to destroy this ship, Dio used every bit of power he had to attempt to crush the ship, and in the end, managed to change its course, putting it on a collision course with a nearby star, Dio killed all the Vong warriors he could and escaped on a small bio-craft of Vong invention, finding himself just on the perimeter of The Unknown Regions nearly 8 months after his capture, after a long voyage, The transformed Dio Shadar arrived on the world of Korriban, home to the Sith Academy.
Sensing nothing but darkness in him, and malice, the Sith trained him to be a weapon of destruction, and so retaining the Vonduun Crab Armor he had stolen, gaining his lightsabers and knowledge of the force, and vowing to hide his scarred face with a shroud for the rest of his life in service to the Empire, he became the Emperor's Hand.
