6th Guildaversary Spriting Splicing Contest

Well hello, I know I said I didn't want to do spriting contests again, but shut up because I am. This time, my hope is that my theme will allow anybody, especially newby spriters to enter and do well.

So I present this theme as a challenge for all of you! Are you a bad enough dude to take it on?

»→ The Theme:
Splicing up the Lords
This time, the contest won't be so much a spriting as it will be a splicing contest. Your objective is to create a new mug entirely by splicing, using the six lords of the GBA games; Roy, Eliwood, Hector, Lyn, Ephraim and Eirika.

This theme presents a challenge to the more experienced spriters, as they will have to look back to their roots and will feel very limited. Contrary, new spriters will feel right at home with splicing and are likely to have an advantage over the more experienced spriters. Yes, that's right- have at it, newby spriters! The more experienced spriters will have no advantage over you here.

»→ Rules/ FAQ:
- You can use ONLY the mugs of (FE6)Roy, (FE7)Eliwood, (FE7)Hector, Lyn, Ephraim and Eirika. And you can ONLY use their normal mug- no frontal view, emotional, or flashback version. You can however use blinking or smiling frames of the normal mug if you like.
- You MUST use every lord. That means your mug must contain something from each of the six lords, even if it's just their color.
- NO custom work. Yep, I just punched you in the gut, experienced spriters. NO means NO- not even to smooth out a line or blend the facial features, you'll just have to be careful with how you sprite. The only thing you are allowed to do is fill an empty space with color.

And just so you know, I will be carefully evaluating each entry myself to make sure they qualify, so don't try to be sneaky.

If you wish to join this contest, don't you dare send me any gold, because it's freakin' free to enter in honor of the Guildaversary! As always, when you finish your entry, PM it to me with your choice of including a funny picture that will make me laugh/ something sexy. For purely professional reasons.

Please remember to vote fairly. Look for how each lord was used and determine the creativity.
Look for how well everything was spliced together; are there shading issues, color discrepancies, odd posture?
And Lastly, determine how appealing the overall concept of the mug is. Below are the 6 lords to help you evaluate.

1st place: Jisen Meizuki

And now, the winner of my own personal choice.This was actually a hard one for me to make, but it came down to these three options. I confess myself astounded at the winner of the voting, because in my mind, it was the least deserving to win. I didn't think the head and body matched well, I didn't like the colors and the body was chopped off at the bottom and on the side. (Though I believe Isadora did very well on it, considering how little she seemed to expect from herself) After my careful evaluation, these are the three final mugs that I was considering for the best:

For the first one, I found the use of hair creative and found the color scheme appealing. Nino also uses Eirika's earring in a really different and creative way. However, there are shading issues such as the FE7 outline being used in one place, but the FE8 outline color used elsewhere. The armor also is cut off on the side. However, despite these errors, I find it a travesty that her entry received only one vote.

For the next one, I really enjoy Sue's color scheme. The minor edit to the back of Lyn's hair gives it some uniqueness so that it wasn't just Lyn's hair with Eirika's side.. things. I also think she did very well in keeping the nice angle of the mug when she spliced on the armor. Bringing in Ephraim's eyes, despite them being men's eyes, look really well on her. However, upon closer inspection, you can see that she in fact has two sets of eyebrows. One of them are Lyn's and the other set are Ephraim's. However, zoomed out, Ephraim's eyebrows miraculously blend in with his eyes when Lyn's eyebrows sit above them and you can't really tell. I had a hard time determining if this was an error or merely creative. The only other thing is that a simple recolor on her right side to match the cloak from Roy would have gone a long way to make me believe that it didn't just vanish beyond the one piece of red hair.

For Amelia's entry, I also really liked the hair and color scheme. Ephraim's armor is sized down for her, yet you get a believable sense that maybe she's an armorknight lord, like Hector, which is hard to pull off with females, especially in a splicing contest such as this. My only gripe is that I think it would have looked better for that one bunch of hair to join the other one on the front of the body. However, that's not really an error.

And the winners... a tie between Misuki Marishima and Marshmallow Kitty! Congratulations, you two, I honestly couldn't decide between your two mugs. But hey, they are siblings, right?
