Name: Rei Spirit: Trickster Spirit Gender: female Age: appears to be in her early 20's
Personality: Rei is a trickster. She loves to pull pranks and watch people (spirits and humans alike) fall into her traps. She is very cunning and artful in her pranks, spending long periods of time to plan and execute them. When she is drunk she loosens up, shedding her devious attitude and indulges in her favorite past time: gambling. Rei is excellent at gambling, being able to read people like a book. Rei has expensive taste, only buying the best quality liquor and clothing that are avalible to her with all of the money she earns from gambling.
Likes: drinking, pulling pranks, the naive and gullible, winning, riddles, mahjong Dislikes: Being sober, getting caught, losing, hang overs Hobbies: drinking, gambling, collecting drink coasters from all of the different bars shes been to, tricking everyone Fears: Peniaphobia- the fear of poverty, Thanatophobia- the fear of death or dying
Appearance:
Powers/Abilities: Rei is able to blend easily into the shadows and stalk her newest victim for her pranks. She is also capable of reaching moderately high speeds, making it easy for her to make a quick escape or for her to pull her favorite prank. She can float several yards in the air, as she often does; standing at only 2 feet tall, she likes to be at eye level with her fellow spirits. When angered, Rei is known to throw fits if the quality of her liquor doesn't suffice or if the selection of liquor doesn't measure up to her standards.
History: As long as Rei can remember, she has been interested in gambling. She vaguely remembers sitting on her father's lap at the mahjong table, helping him keep his score when he has one too many drinks. Her father often let her sample his drinks, resulting in a young tipsy spirit bouncing off the walls. literally. Rei set off on her journey into the land of spirits young, spending her time at various bars gambling, drinking, pranking, and making friends (and enemies). She continues this lifestyle, but likes to spice it up by staying at various bath houses to soothe away her hangovers and un-knot travel-weary muscles.

Hey, Rose!
Time for me to get my first batch of critting done :B
Let me start off with saying Rei is a really cute name dkghd
My first question for her is, if she appears to be in her early twenties, how old is she really? Spirits can be quite old, bridging hundreds of years, so we do need some specifics in that regard, even if it's just a rough approximation.
"Embodiment of the characteristic 'sly'" is rather long winded. From her personality and such as well, she doesn't seem so much sly as she does sneaky and like a trickster. I realize that's how you characterize her personality right off the bat, but it might be easier to simplify this down to just her being a Trickster Spirit in general. You'd have some more room to grow, as well, because "sly" is veeerrry specific while "trickster" can differ depending on the individual.
Keep in mind with her powers, that if she's going around destroying rooms on a somewhat regular basis, there's no way the staff are going to stand for that. If you keep this, there's a very real possibility she'll be kicked out and not allowed to come back, so that's something to think about. Throwing simple tantrums and bossing the workers around, on the other hand, is totally fine but if she's going to do things that will cost the Bathhouse money (like for repairs) then there's no way Mirei's going to stand for her staying there!
Her floating is a fine power and one I was actually hoping she would have considering her size and appearance! However, her silence seems like something that would be hindered or rendered moot due to her drunkenness and what you've outlined to be a very boisterous character.
Her personality and history have a good starting ground, but we really don't get to know her at all. Both could use a lot of fleshing out from just the basics you've got, and I've got some suggestions on things I'd like to know more about in particular:
How does she deal with her fear of poverty if she is drinking and gambling constantly?
Does she cheat at gambling?
Where does her money come from?
What type of spirits were her father and the rest of her family? Are they still around? What happened to them?
What types of tricks does she pull? Does she have any particular favorites? How does she feel about other spirits tricking her?
What does she like about riddles and where did her like of them come from?
Was her fear of death caused by anything in particular? Did she have a near death experience?
What was her father (and the rest of her family) like aside from gambling? How was she raised and what was her home life like before she left?
If she's made enemies, is she somewhat infamous in spirit social circles? (If that's the case, the Bathhouse may not want her business!)
This is a very rough overview so far, and I'll leave it at this for now because it's already long ; u ;; <3

Hey Snoof~
Let me say thank you for critiquing Rei~ You have helped me get a better understanding of her with your questions, which I will answer now
Rei's appearance ages a year for every ten years she lives. So she is in her early 200's, while appearing to be in her early 20's
I have thought it over and I agree that 'embodiment of the characteristic sly' is pretty wordy. I also agree that 'Trickster Spirit' does work better, and it sonds better too~
I was trying to elaborate on her powers a bit, to give her more so the description would be longer. I must admit, my imagination did run wild when I was adding her powers, so I will cut some of the unnecessary ones (like the silence and extreme destructivity) so she is less...well... dangerous.
Q: Does Rei cheat at gambling? A: Not exactly. She would credit her long winning streak to her "sixth sense". Her ability to read people with ease and having been taught how to gamble from her father at a young age might be the cause of her success. She might say it's in her blood. Rei will never spill her secrets, though. wink
Q: Where does her money come from? A: Well, when Rei was young she struck a deal with her father: that she would get a share of the winnings that they earned when they gambled togeather. Her father, impressed that his daughter had so cleverly thought up this plan, agreed. So by the time Rei was ready to start her journey into the big wide world, she already had a fair amount of earnings to start her solo gambling career.
Q: What type of spirits were her father and the rest of her family? Are they still around? What happened to them? A: Rei's father and other family members are Merriment spirits; they are care-free souls that gather togeather to party, drink, and visit. At these reunions, one would find many different games and contests being held; ones of skill (such as racing and drinking games), ones of chance (such as pachinko tournaments), and others, which include poetry contests and riddle competitions. Most of Rei's family is still around, gathering several times a year to visit and take part in the festivities. Rei never really knew her mother; she was told that she had died if unknown causes soon after Rei had entered the world. She sometimes finds herself wondering why her mother had left and for what reasons.
Q: What types of tricks does she pull? A: Rei became addicted to prancing due to her cousin's persistent jokes and tricks played on family members. Young Rei would tag along and observe as her cousins would hide people's shoes and drop buckets of water on passing spirits from an overhead balcony. As they got older, their pranks got wilder and wilder. They would replace the liquor bottles with foul concoctions they brewed themselves and hide the human's clothes when they went for a late-night dip in the lake. Rei's favorite trick would be distracting naive humans by tapping them on the shoulder, then while they turn around, she would put things like rotten eggs or bugs and lizards into their pocket, and zoom away before they could figure out what was going on.
Q: What does she like about riddles and where did her like of them come from? A: when her fathe wasn't gambling, he often challenged his little girl to many riddles of a wide variety of topics. With her sharp mind and good imagination, Rei would spend hours answering his riddles and would invent her own to challenge her father. This was one of the ways she bonded with him.
Q: What was her father and the rest if her family alike aside from gambling? How was she raised and what was her home life lie before she left? A: Growing up, Rei's home by the lake was always housing a different relative at one time, wether it was one of her aunts or uncles, her older-than-old grand parents, or her prankster cousins. Rei was raised around her family, so she has really strong ties to them. Q: If she's made enemies, is she somewhat infamous in the spirit social circle? A: Rei is a rising gambling star, and some seasoned gamblers that she has beaten hold grudges against her for wiping them clean. Some vengeful spirits challenge her again and again to all sorts of gambling games, winning only more shame and humiliation when she beats them. Some spirits question her winning streak, and claim that she cheats. These spirits, however, have found no proof to support their claims, even though Rei has been gambling solo for over 100 years.
I hope this sheds some more light on who Rei is~
