Don't get me wrong I'm excited for more Elder Scrolls games, but to me TES is will always be a single player game. There still too much we don't know about this game to make a well education opinion on whether or not it will fail right now.
I still feel 100% that this will not kill The Elder Scrolls series, some of the TES travel games weren't all that great and yet the series survived. Only time will tell.
I feel what you do, but not for the same reasons. I think this TES will offer a variation of gameplay fresh from the engines that the main games use, which can be a good thing.
However, if it tanks, it WIL affect the sales of the other games. Shadowkey and the other tanked games had an esoteric existence. No one really knew about them, so that's why they didn't effect the TES games people DID know about.
However, this being an MMO, both for Mac and PC, new, and in the age of MMO's-- let's just say it'll attract more attention. Those who have vaguely heard of TES and recieve most of the feedback from this certain game (if it doesn't do well) will get a bad first impression of the series itself.
And those who play this as their first TES will be ******** in comprehending the racial relations of the actual series, since this game ******** those up, too.
Pending on how addictive the gameplay is and how much lore is correctly included in the game, I will hold any further opinions unless someone bothers to ask me.
Gratefully,
A Khajiit.
