Today when I was driving home, as I was passing through an intersection, I saw a motorist hit a girl riding her bicycle. I immediately pulled over (into an illegal parking spot....oh well) to make sure she was okay. The guy that hit her was completely freaking out (I can't really blame him) so I called for an ambulance and waited with the girl trying to calm her down and keep her still while we waited for the ambulance. She was really scared because I guess her brother had been killed earlier this year by being hit by a car on his bike. She had a bump on her head and scraped up one of her arms pretty good, but aside from that it seemed like she'd be okay. A bunch of police showed up and one of them took a statement from me, since I saw the accident happen.
Anyway, please pray that this young woman makes a speedy recovery, both physically and emotionally.

I actually went to the hospital today to check on the girl who got hit, since I managed to catch her full name when I was asking her the basic questions you ask someone when they've hit their head. I actually showed up right as they were discharging her, and she's fine, so that's good. She thanked me for helping her and said that my words actually did reassure her that she was going to be okay, so that was nice to hear.
I'm just glad she's all right. Thanks so much to all of you for your prayers. heart
