Cursed Is Every One! by Pastor Ricky Kurth Printer Friendly Version The Law curses every one that continueth not in all things
of the law (Gal. 3:10). The words continueth and all here tell us the Law demands 100% faithfulness 100% of the time! Though this may sound unreasonable, how many of our married readers are satisfied with 99% faithfulness from your spouse? Even if you could go 70 years without sinning, then sin, the Law would curse you. This too might sound unreasonable, but if you go 70 years without killing anyone, then snap, the law wont let you slide just because youve never done it before, and neither will God!
But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident (Gal. 3:11). The Greek word for evident here is translated certain when Paul says, we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain that we can carry nothing out (I Tim. 6:7). Youll never see a U-Haul trailer behind a hearse! And it is just as evident that no one can be justified by the Law. You might look good in your neighbors sight, but were talking about the sight of God (Gal. 3:11). Even Abraham looked good to his neighbors, but he couldnt boast before God (Rom. 4:2), for God knew he lied about his wife.
No, The just shall live by faith (Gal. 3:11), that is, the way you get to be just is by faith. And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them (Gal. 3:12), i.e., live eternally (Lev. 18:5 cf. Luke 10:25-2 cool . God is fair. If you could obey Him perfectly, He would give you eternal life. It is not technically correct to say the only way to heaven is by faith. But while there are two ways to get to the moon, by rocket and by jumping, one of these two ways is impossible! Just so, there are two ways to get to heaven, by faith and by the works of the Law (Rom. 2:6- 10), but the latter is just as impossible! (Gal. 2:16).
Thankfully, Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us (Gal. 3:13). That the blessing of Abraham [salvation] might come on the Gentiles through.... Through what? Through Israel? Through circumcision, or the Law? This was true for Gentiles in the Old Testament. But today the blessing of Abraham comes on us through Jesus Christ. Why not believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved (Acts 16:31). Notice it doesnt say believe and be good. It just says believe and be saved! Christ died for our sins
and
rose again (I Cor. 15:3,4). Dont try to add any good works to Christs work, for salvation is to him that worketh not, but believeth! (Rom. 4:5).

If you feel God has called you to teach people then you should use your own lessons, not those of others. We would all prefer to hear what you have to say.

James 2:14-26 14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? 17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe—and shudder! 20 Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? 22 You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works; 23 and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”—and he was called a friend of God. 24 You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. 25 And in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? 26 For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.1 Peter 3:21 Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Stam Printer Friendly Version Nothing in the Bible is stated more clearly or with greater emphasis than the blessed Pauline revelation of justification by grace, through faith, without works. Romans 4:5: "To him that worketh not, but believeth...his faith is counted for righteousness". Ephesians 2:8,9: "For by grace are ye saved, through faith...it is the gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast". Titus 3:5: "Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us". Yet James states, just as clearly that "faith, if it hath not works is dead, being alone" (Jas.2:17). He challenges professing believers: "Show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith BY my works" (Ver.1 , and declares that "by works a man is justified and not by faith only" (Ver.24), since "faith without works is dead". Some have imagined a contradiction here, while actually there is none. There is a dispensational distinction, for to Paul had been committed "the dispensation of the grace of God" (Eph.3:1,2). His was "the preaching of the cross" (ICor.1:18 ), offering salvation by grace, through faith alone, to all who would trust Christ as Saviour. James, on the other hand, was an apostle of the kingdom, proclaiming the kingdom rights of Christ and offering a changed way of life on earth which had already been experienced by the disciples in Judaea (Acts 2:44-47; 4:32-35). Hence with James the emphasis is on works, not because good works can save or even help to save, but because true faith inevitably bears fruit and we can judge true faith only by the fruit it bears. Our Lord said: "By their fruits ye shall know them". Hence James' epistle abounds with such phraseology as, "ye see", "show me", "I will show you", etc. What we must be careful to remember is that according to both Paul and James, faith comes first, then good works. Faith is the root, good works the fruit. The absence of fruit indicates that the root is dead, that while there may be an intellectual assent, there is no true heart faith, and "without faith it is impossible to please God" (Heb.11:6). The source of justification is grace; the basis, Calvary; the means, faith; and the evidence, works. Think this through; accept God's grace and trust the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord. He will cause you to produce good fruit.

1 Peter 3:21 Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, IS WATER BAPTISM A TESTIMONY? by Cornelius R. Stam Printer Friendly Version Let us suppose that you have been saved, but live a careless life and bear a poor testimony before the world. Would water baptism change this? What would it be worth? But suppose you have been saved and live a godly, consistent life before the world. Is a water-confession necessary? How much is it worth? Don't be afraid to answer this question honestly. How many "baptized converts" there are who cannot even give a word of testimony for their Lord among the lost! In a sense, however, the baptism of believers by water in this age is a testimony -- a bad testimony. When the Galatian believers submitted to circumcision it was a bad testimony (Gal.5:2,3). Circumcision, while a part of Peter's "gospel of the circumcision" had no place in "the gospel of the uncircumcision" committed to Paul (Gal.2:7). And just as circumcision was connected with "the gospel of the circumcision" so water baptism was con-nected with "the gospel of the kingdom" (See Matthew 3:2,6; 10:5-7; cf. John 1:31; Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Luke 24:47; Acts 2:36-38; Acts 3:19-21). We solemnly declare that the present day practice of water baptism is a reflection on the grace of God and a confession of a lack of appreciation of the finished work of Christ, and the believer's completeness in Him (See Ephesians 1:6; Colossians 2:10). Furthermore, it betrays a poor understanding of the heavenly character and position of the Church of this age (See Ephesians 2:6; 1:3; Colossians 3:1-3). Be a Berean. Search the Scriptures and see whether these things are so.

Stam Printer Friendly Version One of the chief reasons why so many sincere religious people are left in doubt and uncertainty as to salvation is because the organized Church has rebelled against a distinct and important revelation from God to us who live in this present age. This revelation is found in the inspired words of Paul, in Rom. 11:13: "For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles. I magnify mine office." Many minimize that which the Word of God magnifies here. They insist upon following Peter rather than Paul, failing to see that Peter's authority concerned the now-rejected kingdom of Christ on earth over Israel and the nations. Our Lord had said to His twelve apostles: "Verily I say unto you, that ye which have followed Me, in the regeneration, when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of His glory, YE ALSO SHALL SIT UPON TWELVE THRONES, JUDGING THE TWELVE TRIBES OF ISRAEL" (Matt. 19:2 cool . Surely there are no twelve tribes in the Church today, nor was any provision, specific or implied, made by our Lord for "apostolic succession." This dogma is built upon the unscriptural assumption that the Church today is the kingdom which Christ established when on earth, and that our ministry today is but a perpetuation of that which the twelve began. The fact is that the ministry of the twelve was halted by the rejection of the King and His kingdom and that the apostles themselves finally agreed to turn their proposed Gentile ministry over to Paul, that other apostle, to whom had been committed "the gospel of the grace of God" (Read carefully, Gal. 2:2-9 and Acts 20:24). If only the confused religious masses could see that when Israel joined the Gentiles in rebellion against God, when the world's sin had risen to its height and all was ready for judgment, God revealed "the exceeding riches of His grace" by saving Saul, the chief of sinners, and sending him forth as both the herald and the living example of His grace! Thus he writes: "Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound, BUT WHERE SIN ABOUNDED, GRACE DID MUCH MORE ABOUND: "THAT AS SIN HATH REIGNED UNTO DEATH, EVEN SO MIGHT GRACE REIGN, through righteousness, unto eternal life, by Jesus Christ our Lord" (Rom. 5:20,21).

I have been watching, and reading all these for awhile. and to tell the truth, it breaks my heart. Why would you, Epic Dutch, stoop to such a level that you cannot speak with your own words? Copying and pasting a lesson by someone else is only disrespecting yourself. Finding the words to articulate your beliefs, and what you truly feel; that my friend, is true faith. Maybe you feel you cant pull the words together, but all of us here @ 4:12, urge you to try. We would LOVE to have a discussion with you. Not these people you copy and paste from, but YOU. The Word of God isn't something to take lightly. Copying and pasting, in all honesty, doesn't give it the attention is deserves. We urge you to please reply, and post your threads in your own words. We look forward to how Epic Dutch truly feels. God bless my friend smile

Ephesians 2:8-10 King James Version (KJV) 8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Though we should work for God it is not what saves us our works are just to produce fruit witch we can use to show our faith witch is the true meaning of what James is saying when he says faith with out works is dead not that works are needed for salvation but with out works your faith to God can not be evident to the world like if you saw an apple tree in the summer with no leaves or fruit you would see it as a dead tree. Though peter and James both talk about works to save you have to remember what Paul says to Timothy
2 Timothy 2:15 King James Version (KJV) 15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. we must divide God's words to get the truth for some chapters and verses are not meant for every generation for example the book of Hebrews is meant mostly for the Hebrews and not as much for Gentiles. I bring that up because Peter and James were both Apostles that preached the dispensation of the Kingdom witch was put on hold after the stoning of Stephen when Jesus converted Saul into the Apostle Paul to preach the dispensation of Grace through Jesus Christ witch is what we are in now.
