It was such a hot day. Who would want to be anywhere else? The brightly colored kirin was leaping through the waves along the beach, and having a grand time at it. The water was cool and inviting. Though, she thought it always inviting. The beach was a carpet of clean, white sand; the water aqua and clear. The waves were encouraged by a warm breeze that made the cold water feel even more refreshing. Angie chased a few minnows along the shallows before heading deeper again, the water skimming her belly if she stood still. Jumping was more fun that that though. The beach was empty, and she never gave a thought to having any company.

Today Allus had decided to venture farther from the beach cave he called his home. He left his familiar Nella back on his beach, knowing the lizard would enjoy scurrying about then helping him set some territory boarders. He didn't need much space, just enough to call his own. Something so that other's wouldn't take this place which he called home away from him. The seahorse wanted to make this a place in which parents could safely take their foals for a family trip to. A stretch of beach for him to take care of and protect for that reason.
The seahorse loved foals and loved to play with them. If he could make a beach safe enough for family trips then maybe he'd be able to play more with them. He let his eyes glance out at the cool blue waters and gave a small sigh. It had been quite a while since he had played with some foals. This new land seemed to be absent of them.
The sounds of splashing reached his ears causing his head to turn back down beach he was walking along. Up head an orange figure could be seen splashing among the waves. It was too big to be a foal, but still he had a visitor. Quickening his pace the stallion moved to greet his 'guest'.
"Hello!" He called out from the beach, his voice barely making it over the sound of the crashing waves. Having lived on the beach his entire life the seahorse was used to speaking loud, and only loud enough so his voice would travel to the one he was communicating to.

Also used to life on the beach, Angie's sharp ears readily picked out a voice slipping through the splashing of the waves. She immediately stopped her jumping around, and ducked slightly as thought attempting to hide within the waves. Ears twitching as they attempted to locate the source of the strange voice, her eyes shifted toward the shore. Ah! There!
After a large wave nearly tipped her over, she shook her head and looked over to the yellow male again. Yup. He was still there. Nibbling at her lip a couple times, she made her way toward the shore while keeping a safe distance between herself and the stranger. She waited until she was standing where it was about a foot deep before she dared speak. "Hi." She replied, looking beyond the male to see if anyone else was with him. He seemed to be alone though. That was good. Or was that bad...?

"You seem to be enjoying yourself," The seahorse commented lightly a soft smile crossing his own lips. His hooves shifted under him, maybe this wasn't such a good idea. Allus wasn't really good at communicating with other adults and normally only would if he wanted to play with their foals. His eyes glanced about wondering if she was with anyone, a foal perhaps? Seeing none his ears flattened. What made him so brave right now, well he didn't know. Maybe he was just hoping to find a foal to play with.
"Uh...I'm Allus." he introduced himself still a tad nervous. "I was uh...Wondering if I could join you?" Maybe he be more comfortable around her if he could play with her like he did with the foals.

Angie nodded slowly in reply, glancing around just to make sure there really was no one else. Okay.. she could do this. She was just about to turn to head further down the beach when the stranger spoke again."Allus?" She repeated to herself, experimenting with saying the name.
His request made her ears perk with surprise. He wanted to play, too? She looked at the water, and then back at the male. "Do.. Do you like playing? ..In the sea?" If he did, maybe it wouldn't be so bad to hang out with another kirin for a change? But then she noticed the fin on the male's back, and she was instantly struck. A fin! He had a fin!! Like a fish!! She hardly knew what to do with herself. A fish kirin? She dug lightly at the sand, trying to wait for his response before investigating the stunning feature on his back.

"I do love playing in the sea" He replied back. "Normally I play with the foals that parents bring to my beach. But lately with all the storms around this time there are no foals to play with." he seemed saddened about it. His hooves pawed at the ground under him. "So you wouldn't mind? Would you?"

"Foals?" Angie briefly forgot about the fin and looked around. "I don't have any foals. Just me. And now you." She tipped her head to look at the male again. Ah! Right! Trotting slowly forward, she leaned to the side a bit to look at his dorsal fin a little closer. "Are you a fish? I like playing with fish."

"I see," He murmured. Foals were always fun to play with, however maybe he could have fun with her. "I am not a fish, at least I don't think I'm a fish." he replied back

"You look like a fish." She replied, frowning slightly. "Well, not all fish, but a little like fish." Her tail twitched, and she smiled. "I like fish. We can play." Thanks to his fin, she came to accept him much quicker than she would a kirin without. Then she turned and jumped back into the water, looking back at the stallion to make sure he followed.
