Which was... more important? Sudhir blinked, head cocking to one side as his brain tumbled over that question. "The carrots are important." he agreed nonchalantly, though it wasn't really a verbal agreement or disagreement with the actual statement Mayur had made. "Come, this way... there is a stand of trees we will have to pass through - they do not grow too thickly, and The Boy does not live too far within." Turning and making his way out of the stream, the stallion started off at a brisk pace, though he refrained from trotting to make talking easier - this talk of carrots and The Boy made him eager to see both.
"And your question... I think they are all important, but in different ways. A female... well a stallion is supposed to have females to protect, so any female I get will be very important to me, of course. The Boy is... well he gives me carrots, as you have said." Again, it was an evasion, but true enough in its own way. "And my spearmint patch gives me peace of mind, and soothes me. I would be very upset to loose either the Boy or the spearmint, just as I would be if I never found a female. That is why I will stay here... so I can have all three." A reasonable enough answer, or so he thought. Why on earth would anyone pick just one of those things? "I guess for you, family is the most important thing, isn't it?"

Mayur followed him as they went along listening to his explanation. "Yes family is my most important thing. For me anyways. Still what if you don't get a female companion just by staying here?" he questioned him. "Will you travel to find one and bring her back here? What if you fall in love with one who does not wish to stay in one place, then what will you do?" It was more then just wondering on his part. He wondered if the younger stallion had even though of other possibilities.
Yes, this spot may be great, but what about the other things out there. This stallion would never see the sea if he stuck around in this same spot. To Mayur staying in on spot too long alone was boring.
