It was late morning in Ista Weyr when Navi was wandering -alone- around the weyrbowl. He had slipped away from his father's watch when he'd stopped to talk to another rider -boring adult stuff- and Navi was distracted by something shiny near the lake. He toddled towards the water until (half way through) he forgot what he was looking for and began wandering aimlessly instead.

His short, fast legs carried him across the bowl in quick little steps, dodging under the legs of riders while dragons back winged and stepped carefully to avoid him. He was beginning to get bored and look for T'nus, when finally his curious eyes spied something interesting. A firelizard sleeping in the sun by the side of the Bay. Something was going to be the victim of his mischief, and this poor 'lizard had the misfortune to be it.

He looked around furtively, then dropped to his hands and knees and began crawling towards it quietly. Only when he was right behind it, he lunged forward, throwing his whole body onto the creature and catching its whole back side in a big hug.

Meanwhile, having finished his conversation, T'nus had looked down only to find his 'shadow' (as Navi was often nick-named for his tendency to follow T'nus everywhere) was missing. As a father, his first fear should have been to the child's safety, yet he was surprisingly unconcerned about that. Ista, he found, was actually quite a safe place for a child. Navi was old enough not to do something like run into the lake and drown himself and Dragons, though large and frightening in presence, were in reality gentle and careful creatures.

His first thought, then, was to his weyrmate. If Lavi find out that he lost the baby, the usually-delicate girl would tear him apart like a newly hatched dragon tearing into a fresh bit of meat. Lavi could turn into something of a dragon herself where Navi was concerned. "Navi!" he began shouting.

((Lol, my friend's baby did this to a cat. It was not pleased >.<))
