Before we start, how about a little bit of a back-story for the protagonist, who just so happens to be me, Apparently. I can't remember how long ago, let's say a few years ago, I got into role playing on this wonderful website known as Gaia Online. From then until now I have joined many guilds, some were RP guilds, some weren't. I enjoyed most of them, but there were also those which didn't give me good memories. Now that I can't think about what else to say or write or type about, how about a little bit of information on what I will include in this? I'll take your silence as a "Yes! Let's get a tiny amount of information which will be extended into larger paragraphs in separate posts!" In these true stories I will be detailing the many adventures that I have had while role playing. I can currently think of three, each for a separate guild, two I was fond off when I started, the other, not so much. Also they will all be in chronological order. Prepare to be amazed and above all else, have fun!

Chronicle 1: Victims Deserve to be Punished
A few years back I joined a guild which had several RPs going on, however the guild was mostly dead, it was just me and a few other people. Overtime, some of these people became inactive due to their parents banning them from the computer because of bad grades, or some nonsense like that. Anyway, back to the story. I became friends with these people, apart from one, I can't remember his username, but it was something like Marshmallow, so let's call him that. His characters were all the same, just with a different face, coldhearted and a pure representation of himself; and I must say, never make all your characters the same, and never make them exactly the same as you. Well, anyway, Marshmallow wanted someone to RP with so me being the nice guy that I am, decided to send in one of my characters, he ignored him. A few days later, Marshmallow posted that he's angry that he's not role playing with anyone, to which someone responded "I remember Harley having a character interact with yours." And do you want to know what he replied with? "I know, but I don't like him."
Now, everything was fine for some time after that, I just stuck with the people who were actually nice, but because of his authority in the guild, when he role played with characters that my characters were with at the same time as me, it always resulted in me being ignored. I thought I could put up with it, and it turns out I could, for almost a year. When it came to September, I somehow got hacked, and the hacker tried to hack Marshmallow using my account. What a devious hacker he/she/it was for doing that! Once I reclaimed my account, he posted on my profile.
This is what he posted: Don't you dare ever send me scam sites again you jackass, I should report you. Naturally, I told him I was hacked, to which he responded: I did not know or cared if you were hacked. And I don't really know, because I don't know you that much. And I have the same mindframe with the GCD forum when people say they got hacked. The only reason someone is hacked, is because they were stupid enough to click on a link without right clicking it to find out where it brings them or told their passwords to someone.
What a douche! Well anyway, I soon went to the guild to say hi to my buddies and other friendly things. When I got there, I found that he had been talking about me being a hacker and convinced everyone there to hate me. What a bunch of weak minded people! I decided I should leave the guild, so I told them I'm leaving, and they replied with either ignoring me or telling me that I should leave. This happened on my birthday. What a bunch of inconsiderate (name used as an insult)! Funny thing is, the guild died shortly after, they moved to another guild, captained by Marshmallow, but there's only three members.
And that is the first part of my story, I hope whoever reads this enjoyed!

Chronicle 2: (Violent) Sex and Ignorance This one takes place almost a year ago, It started in December 2010, I finally got back into role playing after the previous story and decided to join this guild called something stupid like anime school or something. At first it was fine, but there was way too much drama, especially in the characters of the captain, teenage pregnancy, kidnappings, evil dad, evil dad kidnappings, murder, abuse, all that stuff, it would be fine in any other guild, but not one which was supposed to be not that. I joined, but I got ignored by like everyone because I would ruin the some kind of nonsensical plot they've got going on,or at least that's what I assumed. They had so many profiles in one thread, but nobody knew if they were approved or anything, and about a 5th of those people who posted in that would be active.
Eventually I just decided to stalk new characters to just try and see if I could fit my character(s) into their lives. Then one day, this new guy, or girl, I really could not tell, joined. They were called evildeadguy or some nonsense like that. Anyway, he joined and I wanted to see what he was like, so I did,
Here's an example of his first post in his dorm: (akira see his dorm) (opens door) (see two bed) i need a room mate or a lover
I found him laughable, but because I'm a nice guy, I thought it was fine for him to role play in that way due to the large number of people in the guild creating a large amount of different styles. Variety is the spice of life, wink wink! Eventually his character and this girl who was role played by a girl got into a relationship after meeting once after he broke into some girls dorm or something. His character, Akira and hers, Annarella had sexual intercourse in this girls dorm. Annarella was an angel of some sort and Akira was THE demon prince or something crazy like that.
Eventually they started only role playing sex, very violent sex which involved Akira pretty much ripping apart Annarella with his claws, and somehow she became a demon without explanation after so much sex. She got pregnant and there was kidnapping, and then there was a time skip which only applied to them, by the time of the time skip they should've been almost 30 I guess, and then them and their son went back to school and lived in a dorm. They continued the sex and became the only active role players, and then guess what? The exact same kidnapping!
Eventually I said I was leaving because of the absurd sex, then one person agreed with me but then the captain and vice started criticising me and said stuff like "This guild has no sex, sex is only in pms and time skips, you're wrong!" and I'm pretty sure one of them got angry at me for liking good grammar and spelling. Also, what kind of a captain and vice captain doesn't know what's going on in the guild?
And the moral of the story is don't trust a man with two hats don't be ignorant, and don't have sex so violent that people turn into demons somehow. And just like before, the guild pretty much died after I left.

o.O; If they were RPing graphic sex, you should have just reported the guild. LoL But dang. I don't know how people get into that.
I stumbled on this RP in Barton one time that involved very young slaves, and was disturbed by the overly eager OOC conversation about how exciting it would be to RP a rape scene. I mean...eurgh.
Seriously, people?

Chronicle 3: A Brief Voyage to Character Creation
This story is very recent, only a few months ago. I joined this RP guild because it looked very well done, a lot of effort had gone into it. I created my character to the correct specifications, I looked at other peoples character profiles so I knew what to do and what not to do. Now in the profile there was a part for allegiance because there was different nations and such, however I saw that there was characters that didn't have an allegiance. Being the indecisive guy that I am, I had trouble with this, so I made it so that my character traveled around a lot and was neutral as he didn't care for war or politics. I then waited for my character to be approved.
An unspecified time later, I got to experience the corruption of the guild. My character was not approved because they had no allegiance and because I apparently didn't explain something which I did, in detail too! But being the good little guy I am I "changed" my bio so it fitted what they wanted, however, I did stand up for my right to have no allegiance. So the vice captain called Destinysway or something like that got angry at me and said that it's against the rules, when nowhere in the rules did it say this. I stated that there are characters without an allegiance, even those that she approved and I'm pretty sure she had at least one like that too. She said something like "Fine, if you're going to be stubborn, Approved" then underneath this in very small text "Good luck being useless".
I told the captain about this and while waiting for a reply I continued to fight for my right, but not before taking a screenshot of what she wrote to use as evidence if needed. I said she was corrupt for doing this and saying that, I don't care if she's vice captain, I deserve to be treated like everybody else in the guild. She said that she wasn't corrupt, she was "strict" and that she had "learning differences".
Intermission: Harley's Opinion! (Mostly unrelated to the story) I'm not sure about you guys, but by saying differences instead of difficulties or disabilities is kind of offensive to those who also do, it suggests their different to everybody else, suggesting that their not normal, which can then suggest all kinds of insulting things. Everyone has some kind of difficulty.
Anyway, back to the story. After she tried to make herself not appear corrupt she said "As for my comment, what comment?" and deleted it. Good thing I took evidence! Eventually I did get a reply from the Captain. He defender her in every way there was to defend her. It appeared that it was because she was vice captain, so he was biased and also probably very corrupt. He said he told her to approve it because he didn't want her feelings hurt or something. However, I did leave the guild, I didn't want anything to do with them and their reign of terror in their totalitarian, dystopian, fascist society where only the crew can thrive and the members are looked down upon.
After I left I checked it out, and my character thread was deleted, I assume it was some kind of coverup to remove any chance people having negative views towards them. Rewriting history like it had never happened. A couple of weeks ago I investigated the guild again and it was in ruins and they were rebuilding.
I never did use my evidence, still got it though, and it appears that every guild I left due to bad experiences has crashed into the ground. I won the argument, which made me happy, and the whole experience makes me think of my time as student of law, which I try not to combine with my life on the internet.
And that's the end of the trilogy, however there are more stories to be told, but not as big ad these, just small things.

Wow....what a crappy attitude for the VC to have. @___@ I mean, if there are exceptions being made for certain people, it's not that hard to explain why. In of the guilds I captain, we get a lot of people who try to create loner/wanderer types and it tends to be really difficult for those characters to get involved when the RPer is less familiar with the guild. So we do strongly encourage them to have affiliates and connections going into the RP. If someone had ever responded to me, with "Well there are exceptions..."
I probably would have just said that the exceptions were for people more experienced with the guild, and who I know didn't have a difficult time getting involved in things, so we let the lack of affiliates slide. Sometimes you do make exceptions for people whose RP style you're familiar with.
But her snapping at you and calling you useless was totally unjustified. @__@ I don't get why crew people are like that. I've had so many problems with people and I don't recall that I've ever been unnecessarily hateful, even when really frustrated at people. It's just not that hard to deal with people without resorting to name calling so I have no idea why she felt the need or how the captain could have defended the attitude.
One thing in their defense, though, a lot of guilds clear out old character profiles and threads when the members leave. It's just a way of keeping clutter down and what's the point of having a bunch of unused profiles sitting around? It's just confusing for new people since they wouldn't know which profiles were for active characters or not. Every guild I've ever been in has cleared out those kinds of things. Unless, of course, they cleared out only yours but no other inactive ones. XD

The Mimic.
This is in response to that recent announcement, the one about character theft and whatnot.
I was in this guild, it's not very active now. Anyway, back in the day, I joined this guild and made this character, and a few weeks later this "new" person joined. However I suspect this person was actually a mule belonging to this other member of the guild, they were very similar, they spelled the same words exactly the same, and their grammar was also exactly the same.
When this guy made his character, I thought nothing of it, until I actually read the profile. He had copied everything, word for word, just minus the name. When I confronted him about it, he replied with "sorry I didn't have time but I'll fix it right away sorry for that buddy"
Now I have a few problems with this statement. One is, if you don't have time, then don't make the character, do it when you do have time, or maybe work on it on word or notepad or something similar so you can come back to it later. And secondly, I am not his buddy.
