Race: Exorcisma

Aspirations: Luciel wants to become as good an Exorcisma as his adoptive father is, perhaps one day even ascending to the level of a sage, as well as continuing the gypsy sort of life he was raised with, moving from shrine to shrine, performing the rituals that he's been taught for some years. Before all of that can be accomplished though he must meet with more of his own kind in an attempt to shed what he sees as his own personal darkness. It is something which he is almost certain is a spirit of vengeance and mistrust that has possessed him since he was much younger, likely having seen him as being quite vulnerable then.

Whether it is a figurative thing or a literal one he is, for the moment, uncertain but is struggling against it nevertheless as well as struggling against the way that it causes him to strike out at the Majin as a whole due to his hatred of one of them specifically despite being taught by his father that they aren't a blight as some see them and instead a blessing.

Personality: Luciel can appear, upon first glance, as a somewhat cold individual. It is something that is aimed less toward his own people though and more toward the Majin, Witch Eaters especially. Where that race is concerned he is downright aggressive in his dislike of them but with good reason. Were it up to him he would see to it that they were all taken care of and not in a good way. On the opposite end of the spectrum are his own kind, a people that Luciel is very devoted to, talking in a more open and cheerful manner to them, enjoying to travel with them, exchanging stories, and is overall a whole other person when it comes to them. Then somewhere in the middle are the humans who he sees as being far above the Majin but still below his own kind. He is opening to talking with them but usually clams up when asked his opinions of the Majin, wanting to keep this opinions to himself.

He is also quite adamant when it comes to his goals, one of the main ones being his desire to continue to go along with the pilgrimages he started when he was much younger and just coming into his power, still enjoying to continue spending his time at the shrines, finding the atmosphere around them to be quite relaxing. It is when he is in these places that he still feels whole and is the most at peace, it also puts his heart at peace and allows him a time when the dark 'spirit' that possesses him is as content as he is. It's only when he leaves them again, and he is forced to deal with the thing he hates and fears, that he feels rising up again.

He hates to admit it but he actually fears himself a little bit when it comes to his quick and sometimes unconscious reactions to the Majin race, having lashed out at the more then once before even realizing it. While he isn't the only one of his kind to dislike the Majin he is left a little guilty over his hatred due to the fact that the man who raised him always spoke so well of them.

Short Biography/background: Luciel comes from unknown origins, or at least unknown to him, his mother having died giving birth to him and his father never coming forward. The boy was adopted by and raised by an older Exorcisma and due to the man's own rigorous devotion to the pilgrimages he was quick to want to go along with him even when he was young. It was often just the two of them moving from shrine to shrine, his adopted father seeming as though he didn't have a particular one that he belonged to but instead wished to continue moving from place to place with the wind. They rarely sat still but Luciel never felt as though he were missing out on anything, instead finding the travel to be something that he quite enjoyed, there was a freedom in their rather gypsy-esque way of life. They would see others, human and Majin alike, on their journeys and at first Luciel looked upon the Majin in the same was as his father, that they were a special race that were to be looked upon kindly.

It was during his first solo pilgrimage, something that he was so looking forward to as he wanted to prove himself to his father and his people, going from one shrine to the next under his own power and using everything that he had learn to that point. It was midway through the journey that he had run into a lone traveler, one that seemed to be in need of aid and suffering in great pain due to injuries that he wasn't able to see from a distance. It was nothing but the trickery of a rather violent Witch Eater that was after the pure heart of the Exorcisma. In the battle for his heart, and his life, Luciel was forced use his training in a manner he never wanted to use it, forced to strike back at the Witch Eater, though not before a great amount of damage was done to his body. The battle caused Luciel to lose his left eye as well as his right hand, both wounds left him having to relearn a lot of the most basic things, such as writing. It also causes him to often try to hide the wounds in various manners, not wanting anyone to see his wounds or pity him for them.

It was a combination of the sneak attack, as well as the results of that attack, which has left him with a painfully obvious dislike of the Majin as a whole and a desire to strike the Witch Eaters down on sight. It is something his adoptive father most certainly doesn't approve of as well as a desire that Luciel finds himself struggling with due to his desire to walk a more holy path. As such since the attack he finds himself doing his best to avoid contact with the Majin, so as not to do anything he might later regret, as well as continuing his travels to pray at the various shrines, as well as to meet with his own kind, in an attempt to shed his the clinging darkness so he can one day ascend to sagehood.
