Foal years - Pining for Vanya
Young Vanilija, unlike most other foals among the flock, was raised primarily by her mother, as opposed to nannies. This had instilled a great dependance on her mothers company, in the young harpy. Behavior that most others often find odd. Shadowed only by her devotion to the flock and it's Queen, is Vanilija's dedication to gaining her mothers approval.
From a very young age, Vanilija watched her mother and the way she praised and coveted beauty around her. Being raised in a matriarchy, brought up primarily by her mother, led the young foal to hold her mother in utmost regard; Of almost equal importance to the Queen herself. Vayna was the most prominent female figure and role model in her life.
As a foal, Vanilija would dedicate her time and efforts to all the things that her mother loved, in hopes of feeling the same effection that Vanya showed for the things that she loved. Vanilija tried desparately to attain a level of skill in dance that would win over her mother. However, the foal was not as blessed with movement as her mother was, and after a failed attempt at showcasing herself to her mother, she fell hard.
It isn't until feeling the crushing defeat of her OWN disapproval, that Vanilija begins to find her true place within the flock, and her true self. It is only after the words of encouragement from Vanya, despite her failure, that she realizes that she doesn't need to be exactly like her mother in order to make her mother proud and to be loved by her. It is then, heading in to her teenage years, that Vanilija sets out to find who she really is within the flock.

Vanilija's nature is similar to that of her mother. She holds beauty in high regards and is determined to ensure that elegance and beauty surround her in her daily life. A habit born out of her desire for her mothers attention as a young foal. Vanilija is convinced that collecting beauty and lavishing in it is warrent for high regard, and while she would never look down upon her sisters as their better for such things, she is certainly willing to look down upon the males for reasons of vanity. She believes that only the most beautiful males will be worthy of her attention and harem.
Do you have any traditions you would like to see implemented into Vanya's family? If so what are they and what are your reasonings behind them? One thing I know Vanya treasures is her bells. She uses them while dancing and while capturing males. And not to mention to make herself look beautiful. I personally think they seem like important aspect of Vanya's life and I think passing down bells to their children would be an adorable family tradition, even if they aren't dancers. Perhaps not as important as passing down her name, but I think it would fit in very nicely! Bells are very prominent in Taarab's family line as well, so it also fits in from his perspective as well~
Perhaps even engraving the names on the bells would be a cute little touch.

How active are you in Soquili?: I lurk daily, and involve myself in RP's. Am always hanging around at night time, even if I'm not posting. Am quite active with soq patrons over AIM and MSN.
Will the offspring stay in the flock?: No doubts about it!
Why do you feel you should get a basket/be picked as co-owner for a foal?: Ever since having one of my stallions captured in to the flock, I have become enthralled by the way the flock works. I have never had a pet be a part of a matriarchy before, and I've only just begun to taste it with Eryi being captured. Being able to partake in the actual inner workings of the harpies themselves, and the way they interact with eachother, the males, and the various jobs within the flock really just hits my muse in a good way. I'd love to be able to feed it more, whether through winning a basket, or one day winning one of the customs I have in mind.
