"How long have you been at this? A few months? You're still learning, Ami, but once you get it you'll get it and be great! The older hunters have saved us plenty of times."
He looked even more hurt. "But...you're my friend."

The word friend just sickened her even more. It made her stomach do a flip and she figured it was a negative feeling. She wasn't disgusted by his friendship, it was just ...
Well she definitely didn't want to be a part of this conversation any more.
"Let's go," she said abruptly, standing up and walking towards the portal. After a moment, she added, "... friend."
