Well, my sister's into a LARP group and she invited me to come check it out. They got a pretty deep magic and leveling system and stuff, seems interesting. But combat is very...Soft. I love doing the hard-hitting stuff with friends, hahah.

Which reminds me, next time I get a chance to go up there we gotta hit up Home Depot and make some new weapons haha. Grab up some friends and just go balls to the wall crazy in a bigass free for all or something haha.

Dude I'm tempted to hit up my home depot to see if I can get the stuff to make a badass pair of axes or maybe a mace and shield XD

Oh for sure, that'd be brutal! Axes seem to be a little tricky to make, though I've never tried..I know Sean can.

I can already imagine them being hard, especially if I wanna make them seem somewhat realistic. Getting all the curves n s**t right and getting the blade to fit into the handle would definitely be a difficult trick to pull off. That, and making sure the blade is strong enough to dole out hits without breaking xD
The whole idea behind LARPing throws me off, sure good to build character and all that. But if I wanted to dress up in elaborate clothes and sword spar or speak in whatever dialect with a friend I would do so anyway (and working on that) without this odd incentive to try and be someone else; why not just incorporate those styles into everyday life?
That being said, I find it difficult to imagine MMO Larping without having a hollywood sized budget to make the bosses, and if you're going for the PvP and otherwise well... meh?

If any of you are actually interested in finding a LARP group that is free and helps you make the things you use (padded weapons, garb, etc) look up Amtgard and take a look at the group in your local area..
