Here is my view of what Wicca is really all about. Feel free to reply with your views on Wicca,

Myths BUSTED!

Witchcraft or Wicca is not a cult. We do not proclaim ourselves to be spokespersons for the divine or try to get others to follow us as their leaders.

We do not worship Satan or consort with Demons, we're simply not that dumb.

We do not sacrifice animals or humans because that would violate our basic tenant of "Harm None." Anyone who does and claims to be a Wiccan or a Witch is lying.

We have no need to steal or control the life force of another to achieve mystical or supernatural powers.

We do not use the forces of nature or the universe to hex or cast spells on others. Again, "Harm None" is the whole of the law.

We do not ride on broomsticks, we catch the bus, walk, drive, catch the plane or train like everyone else. The broomstick is a ritual item used in Handfastings to symbolise a phalic wand.

We are normal people that have normal everyday jobs, WE ARE NOT CRAZY !

What is Wicca ?

Wicca is an appreciation for the world around us and for anture. It is understanding the world and how it is. It is also based on an old religion formed in Scotland, Ireland and Wales which was wiped out when Christianity came to this country.

There are two main branches of Wicca, Alexandrian and Gardernerian. Both follow the same beliefs.

In the UK, practising witchcraft was illegal until 1951, where people suspected of witchcraft were hung by the neck until dead.

Witchcraft is a spiritual system that includes three rules:

The Wiccan Rede: An' It Harm None Do What Thou Will.

An' It Don't Interfere With Free Will, Do What Thou Will.

Rule Of Three: Ever Mind The Rule Of Three, Whatever Ye Giveth, Cometh To Thee.

Witches (or Wiccans) do not practise Black Magick, that is to say Magick that holds ill or does harm as it goes against the three fundametnal beliefs in the system.

We acknowledge the cycles of nature, the lunar phases and the seasons to celebrate our spirituality and to worship the divine

Witches belief in a God and Goddess, also known as Polarity.

There is no such thing as an evil being that stretches forth tendrils of blackness that make us do things against our will. Instead Man itself has free will and chooses to do those things. We belief that we take responsibility for those things, whether in this life, or the next.

One thing is for a certain, Wicca is a Mystery Religion and like 95% of the traditions, beleif material (such as the formal names of the Lord and the Lady), etc can only be learned through initiation into a lineaged Coven 9so that you know what you're learning and what your beleifs are based upon are legit).

And please, don't start giving me hell about lineage, the Wicca religion was started by Gerald Gardner (i am going on what i have been told by an ex-wiccan btw), hence why you can only learn the mysteries of it if you're being taught by people who were taught by him (or taught by people who were taught by him, you get the idea), with proof that they were.

And Magic is spelt like that "Magic", not "Magick" or other such spellings. - Those are fluffy, incorrect spellings of the word.

A fluffy or, fluffy bunny, incase you didn't know, is basically a Wiccan-wannabe. One can't simply pick up something such as a silver raven wolf book and call oneself Wiccan, as the myteries of the religion are oathbound and are not allowed to be shared to the general public for whatever purpose.

Please darling...Let us believe what we would like to believe. I've always thought of Wicca as a way to be me because in my family no one is allowed that kind of freedom. I'd like to believe that it is spelled 'Magick' ad I was taught, and wicca has a history. But that's just me.

Guardian 0f Heaven we are allowed to believe in what we wish ... i do not care if you were taught by an ex-wiccan ... you seem so stuck up in your own beliefs that you can't accept others.

i use "magick" to distinguish between wiccan magick (spells and such) and party tricks (pulling rabbits out of a hat).

Wicca is how we want to view it, and i think you need to learn to respect our opinions.

Blessed Be.
