Dance: Performing Arts

Those who had taken Week 1 of the Clan of Conquest's class might recognize the female seated on the chair in the room; in front of her was a Guzheng. Standing on her left was a horsewoman who was dressed like a servant ghoul holding a Pipa, and on her right stood a horsewoman who looked like she was of the same age as the servant ghoul, but was dressed in clothing that looked more colorful and decorative.

"Welcome. I am Zhang Liulian, but you may address me as Professor Zhang. Traditionally, dancing is an art form reserved for females, but in recent years, even males had taken up this art," She explained, giving you a small smile, "It requires flexibility, a quick reflex... It is not as easy as you think it might be. In fact, it requires years of practice to get dancing down. Here, let my disciple show you." She turned to the ghoul on her right and gave her a nod; immediately, the young ghoul brightened up, moving to the space in front. When Professor Zhang started to play the Guzheng, accompanied by her servant's Pipa, the young ghoul performed a dance so entrancing, it probably kept you captivated.

"Same say that dancing may even lift your spirits and heal your soul... Why don't you find that out for yourself, child?"

Moure didn't really dance.

Scarentine's and Prom didn't count in his mind. He didn't formally dance, so to speak. Or whatever it was that these people really did that they called 'dancing'.

After seeing the Professor's assistant move, after managing to tear away his gaze, he was sure he wasn't really the dancing type. Welp, apparently he'd get to try it anyway. Might as well try new things in this new experience, right?

Even though it meant having to go change. Moure had a vague theory that these Conquest Clanners really just didn't like his shoes by this point.

The patchwork emerged from the changing area looking rather uncomfortable. It wasn't that the clothes weren't nice. Actually, it was on the flip side. The clothes were much too nice for someone like Moure to be wearing. The patchwork wasn't used to being dressed up so nicely. The outfit wasn't particularly stunning when compared to the normal garb of Horsemen, but it was much nicer than anything Moure could normally afford. The tunic was sleek, soft silk, made to button up the center. It hopefully wouldn't hinder his dancing too much. He'd much rather be wearing his racing shirt, but all well. The trousers were a dark color, of a traditional style that Moure wasn't really familiar with.

All in all, the patchwork felt somewhat uncomfortable in the finery he'd been told to wear.

He was directed to a box. Inside, he was supposed to find props to use in his attempt at dancing. He wasn't sure exactly what he'd find, and as such was rather wary when he reached inside.

His hands found something, and after a moment he pulled the items out. They were...streamers? Really? How was he supposed to dance with these...?

Well, now it was time to dance. Hopefully the streamers and outfit wouldn't hinder his performance.

As it was, Moure hadn't realized that fancy footwork counted as dancing until now. The moment the thought crossed his mind, a unbidden grin slipped onto his face. If there was one thing Moure was good at, it was being a Runner.

As such, when he reached the stage, he went to work. Quick dodges and spins wove in with the music, his steps ranging from short partial flits to extended leaps. Not once did the patchwork stumble. Somehow, unlikely as it was, he'd turned this dancing into a form of his usual style of fighting and running.

He twirled, streamers sailing out around him, and moved across the stage in graceful bounds, dodging unseen foes and invisible attacks, his speed lending itself to his moves. He hadn't let himself run like this for so long, and his joy at just being able to move so swiftly and gracefully was visible.

With a final dodging roll of a spin, Moure finished his performance. His head was bowed respectfully in the Horsewomen's direction, and after several seconds of stillness, Moure sat back. Carefully, he raised his eyes toward his watchers. What he found on their faces' surprised him. They were smiling at him. At his dance. A flicker of a grin jumped across his features before he could hide it, and he gave another deep bow to the women.

While his dance hadn't been as captivating as the Horsewoman's, they seemed to find potential in his. Perhaps with training, one day he'd be as good as those of this clan. Perhaps, but he had potential. He had the capacity to learn.

(( Earned three horsemen points. ))
