Reiko kept climbing, taking deep breaths. She was slowly, very slowly, letting go of her anger. Mitzi had been under the influence of the same stuff as her, more than likely, so it wasn't really her fault.
And then, just as she was really starting to work herself down, she was hit with a barrage of acorns and had to shield herself. Where were those coming from?! That definitely lost her some time climbing up.

Just as she was starting to get control of her feelings, flowers started to n** at her feet. It reminded her all over again of how she had gotten here, what had happened, and the stupid onryo who had caused it all. Both her anger and the desire to get away from the flowers spurred her onwards, and her pace picked up again.

Reiko refused to look down, and made it to the top of the tree, where she sat for a moment, basking in her accomplishment. Oh yeah, she felt good. She wondered if Mitzi was doing half as well as she was. The onryo gathered up some fruits to bring down, and then dropped the whole way, cradling the fruit to her chest. She brought it over for appraisal, and received much approval from the Clansmen around her. She was likely literally glowing with pride in her accomplishments.

After spending a whole week on the War isle, Mitzi had genuinely thought she had her fear of heights under control. It wasn't gone, but she could manage it, right?
Apparently not, she thought now as she kept her eyes tightly closed, trying to get herself under control so she could continue on. The pause turned out to be just what she needed, as by the time she managed to get moving again and reach the fruit, it had had just a little more time to ripen. She plucked it and started down, and breathed a sigh of relief as her feet reached the ground again.
She was a little shocked to see the onryo there, also handing in fruit. With her fright, she had almost forgotten her anger, but she felt it flare again. She narrowed her eyes, glaring at the other ghoul.
"Reiko. What are you doing here." She handed over her fruit, barely paying attention to the horsewoman's approval at the fruit's quality, focused instead on the ghost.

"Training." Reiko said. She couldn't ignore the clipped tone in Mitzi's voice, and she responded in kind. She had been told that Reapers tended to look down on ghosts, but had thought Mitzi was different-apparently not, if the way she was regarding her suggested anything. The onryo crossed her arms defensively. Yes, she had cowed the last time Mitzi had gotten upset at her, but that had been something she had decided was her fault and she was willing to back down. Now? No. No way.

"Right, sure, whatever." Mitzi turned and started down the path. If she didn't leave, she'd probably start getting nasty soon.
Maybe she could find somewhere else. Get food. Food would be good.
