"I do not think they would like that much," Fallow retorted to the other boil, his tail flickering back and forth, dark and bright all at once. "My rabbit nearly tried to eat an adara in Conquest. I think they would have frowned at more than just our feet for that." His lips twisted wryly at the corners, and he instead turned his attention to the new arrival, ears quirking upwards at the sound of a familiar voice --
Aurian, was it?
He pranced a bit closer like a proud stallion, and made a pleased sort of sound when he realized he was right. "Hellohello, yes," He purred happily, and moved closer, waving a hand happily. "We met at training, right? Aurian." He tasted the name on his lips and inclined his head in pleasure. "It is nice to see you. Please do not fall, that would be dreadful and I don't think there are any nets below." Laughing a bit, his attention swiveled to the others as they spoke, tail wagging and flicking as thought to alternate between the styles of an overly proud stallion and an overly excitable dog.
Turning his head as Amarus spoke again, Fallow moved closer to her, his steps becoming much more fluid, the glow of his skin iridescent and bright. This one fascinated him with the glow of her own body, and he smiled at the returned words. "They are very different and bigger than mine," The Púca commented first with a gesture to the bells Amarus wore, tapping gently on the gold ones he wore. They let off a slight jingle, and he smiled toothily at her. "Yes. There was quite a lot of smoke that day. It is too bad I wasn't able to set fire too, it seemed much more fun than the task at hand." The tone was nearly teasing, but in a warm and harmless sort of way, "And I'm sure they will. At least you did not consider the notion of eating one of their adaras, nor, ah... " He frowned slightly. "Well. I believe I continuously insulted them with my feet."
Bouncing back onto the balls of his feet, Fallow let out a soft laugh at the inquiry. "No, we did not. But yes, I was. I remember seeing you in class many times." He nodded his head as though to confirm this. "I was, ah, very involved in kumiko when I was not in there though, and their very odd temple." Fallow's tone dipped just slightly before raising again, and he looked over at Amarus with a wickedly carnivorous grin. "It is a pleasure to be making your acquaintance now though, yes."
Listening in curiosity to the way Mort spoke, Fallows attention turned to him just as swiftly, and he pondered the idea of wings as these two seemed to be conversing about before laughing at the idea of exciting. "Chaotic even, though at least it was only the paper catching fire." He said in return, "I heard that the heir-instructor leered at every offender for a very long time afterwards." Bouncing over again, Fallow bent himself in half to look at the birds Mort had attracted. They seemed to fluff up -- or maybe that was just him going insane. Again. As usual. "A very funny fanbase." He mused, leaning back and glancing at Mort with a grin, "perhaps you can wear them around on your head like a crown." What a funny mental image that made! Fallow couldn't help but laugh at the idea, his ears waving back and forth in pleasant satisfaction at the group collected in this area and the sounds they made - words, he corrected himself internally.
Which, ah, he should return to listening to. Fallow's ears cocked, and slowly he dragged himself out of his own head and back to the conversation at hand.

Quote: 1-20: The area itself seems rather abandoned, though as you look a little past the area, you can see a few Clan members flying away, seemingly towards the portal exit. It looks like they're in a hurry, and heavily armed. With nothing else to fill her time at the moment Zurine had decided to do a little bit of exploring, it had seemed like a fairly interesting area at first - if a bit precarious with how high it was. Sadly it seemed that she had chosen a fairly quiet time of day to visit because at first glance she didn't see anyone around, a closer inspection however revealed some clan members flying off with weapons..maybe they were going hunting or something?

Quote: 21 - 40: Black feathers are scattered all over the room. It looks like two clan members got into a fight here, judging from the heavy scratches on the ground, though what exactly happened? (see below for horsemen point prompt) Shrugging slightly Zurine turned to explore more of the area, quickly coming across a room that looked like it had been the site of a scuffle. That probably wasn't all the unusual given the island they were on - I mean their instructors had fought each other during the very first class she had attended.
The heavy scratches on the floor looked fairly deep however and bending down she trailed her fingers over one of them. Whatever had happened here it looked to be fairly serious though there was no sign that she could see of what might have caused the fight.

As she examined the scratches a glimmer of light caught her attention and turning she spotted something laying on the ground. Picking it up she eyed it for a few moments - it looked kind of like the token she'd found on the isle of famine though a little bit different, shrugging she put it in her pocket and stood up with the intention of exploring some other areas

The lotuses were entirely to blame for Amarus' outburst. She had never been capable of feeling quite that excited before, but since she had so recently spent so much time around the lotus pond, Amarus' emotions had been much stronger. She did notice she'd gotten out of check excited, though, by Mort being taken aback. At least he didn't react unpleasantly, she supposed. He could have been upset about it. "I'm an excellent test subject," she agreed. At least she could do that. "Mort, I even sent a text today," she told him, clearly pleased of herself. Which was depressing, as she'd been a student for quite some time now, and never sent a text until that day.
She suddenly thought of how she could bring Mort's story back up into conversation. More or less naturally. "Speaking of a fan base, you think that clansman who kissed you numbers among your fans?" she asked him, a hint of a smile on the corner of her mouth.
Amarus wasn't sure where they were going. Distractedly, she looked back to the place the clanspeople had flown, and replied to Aurian, "Maybe they are going into the human world...?" Amarus shrugged. No clue.
It didn't take Amarus long to decide if she liked someone or not. She happened to like Aurian, mostly because the ghoul was easygoing and good with a lasso. Also because she didn't giggle obsessively or do anything ... incomprehensible. So far. "I like that you don't giggle," Amarus told her. She wasn't really ... tactful, but at least this time it was a compliment. Sort of.
Amarus had seen the same depiction a bit ago, and nodded her agreement to Aurian. "I suspect all the clansmen feel that way, don't they? War is just more open about it," she added. Not like Conquest, who kept their loathing underneath the surface. That was what conquest represented to Amarus: a smooth, polished surface masking something even more disgusting than war.
Fallow moved in an intriguing sort of way, somewhere between fluid and in stops and starts. It was a little eerie, admittedly, but what was a student if not creepy? Amarus, for her part, was unphased; she merely observed, occasionally tilting her head in contemplation so that the bells would ring again. She nodded as he said that the bells she wore were larger than his. "Bells are comforting no matter what size, don't you think?" she asked. "I wanted to light my incense. I will never know what it smelled like. Faustus' was very nice," she said of her friend's incense. After she lit the room on fire, put it out with kappa water, she'd curled up next to Faustus' incense and watched it burn peacefully.
"You... insulted them?" she asked, confused and intrigued. "I would never eat an adara, though some of them appeared to be... very mentally unstable." Like the one she'd gotten who ate from another student, came back to her, and then shuddered and fled when she asked it about itself. She got that adara twice. Two-timing avian.
Amarus wondered whether she should say anything about the cavern in Conquest, or remain silent. Eventually, to all of her new friends, she asked: "Has anyone else noticed anything strange about.. the clans? Something not quite right."[[OOC: Uhhh... not sure if I should edit to include Jet, as it says Zurine intends to leave and explore other areas, and I'm not sure where she is if she doesn't see the large group? x: ]]

Mort would have happily answered save for two things that occurred: in his world, three more birds decided with a shriek to join the crew already collected, leering at him hungrily; in an otherworldly being's realm, a certain site ate a certain post that contained much more action than this did.
So the gist of it was this. Greatly pleased with Amarus's progress in the realm of technology, Mort offered her a small lard he fished form his pocket, which contained various ways to contact him, including a skellyphone number, an email address, an HIM username, and his Groanspring account. And whether she tok it or not, the group assembled would become his meat shields as the zomboil took further cover behind them from the incessant staring of the birds.
"Know something funny going on; saw many War horsemen armed and shouting orders while flying into portal. Also, er . . . what's n' adara?"

(see below for horsemen point prompt) Giving Aurian a wave while snickering at the idea of a rabbit eating a bird, Clyde tried to focus at the conversation at hand. The idea was just much too hilarious to not think about.
Clyde gave a slight grin at Mort’s action. “Don’t worry about it. I don’t think any of us are mean enough to just let the birds have a go at you. Annoying how stubborn they’re being though.” His eyes went back to looking at the strange flock. Clyde shrugged a little at the bird problem, peering at their puffed up bodies. He chose to just give up on shooing the flock away; maybe they’ll leave…eventually. His attention was distracted when a couple more horsemen flew into the portal. Now what were they doing? They probably wouldn’t know until later if ever.
"Aside from them being not very minipet friendly?”

Quote: - Horsemen point prompt! You also see something glint next to you, but is it just a trick of the light? Roll a 6-sided dice. If odd you obtain one horsemen point! You can only redeem a max of two from all prompt prps/orps your student is in per OOC 24 hours. You can redeem these here and here! A single feather landed on the varcolac's face as he tried to take a closer look at the portal the clansmen had been flying to. Clyde picked the feather off his nose before looking up only to meet up with a face full of feathers. It seems two of them were fighting up above and had darted off into some random direction to fight it through. Funny how they have this lovely group of ghouls and boils talking while two clan members are fighting it out just above.
Looking back inside, something glittering caught the corner of his eye. He shifted ever so slightly to pick it up.

Fallow blinked owlishly at Amarus's response, his ears folding forward with an iridescent glow. Comforting? "Hm, perhaps, yes." He shook his head, his own giving off a soft ringing that made him keen softly in approval. "I wear them now because I like the sound. I wore them then because they were tied to me for the sake of being able to... ah, know if I was around when something broke." Most likely someones nose, but he did not comment on that. Tail twisting, the Púca rumbled softly in thought, reminiscing briefly on the day there was a lot of fire and a little bit of actual incense to go around. "That is too bad. Perhaps you can find material to make your own back home. Or appeal to visit the Conquest Isles again." He smiled at her pleasantly, ears twitching, "hmm that is very nice to hear. Faustus though? I never met him I don't think." Rumbling softly, Fallow folded his arms. "But I did enjoy the scents that filled the room that day - the ones that weren't smoke at least."
Grinning carnivorously at the question, Fallow's eyes seemed to pulse an erratic color at the sudden memory. "Yes. Well. They kept on looking at my feet as though they were very insulting. And they had so many different shoes for every little occasion and place -- it was exhausting to keep up with." Fallow chuckled at the idea of adara's and shrugged slightly at the mention of them. "My rabbit - her stomach is always wanting to have something in it, and the adara looked quite filling to her, I suppose. Though most of them ran away or became two-timers in the end." At this he scowled, for the memory wasn't exactly pleasant.
At the question, Fallow looked at her for a long moment before replying, his words slow and thought out for once. "Something not quite right -- yes, hmm, yes." He shook his head, sleek ears folding back and shuddering. "Their temple had something very, ah, different..." he grimaced at the memory, "and they themselves seem very... "
But his words were interrupted when something caught in the corner of his eye; horsemen up in the sky above, flying for a portal in heavy armor. They seemed in a hurry, and Fallow watched in absolute intrigue for a long moment before his attention slowly came back to earth and to his current... what were they? Acquaintances? Fallow rumbled in thought and looked back at Amarus and the rest of them, noticing that Mort's birds seemed to be collecting even more troops. At the question though, he grinned wildly. "A bird that you don't want in your fan club." He teased. "They are very large and... we were to practice manners on them, though they did not have manners in return."
But honestly, neither did he.

Aurian beamed back at Fallow, caught up in his enthusiasm. "Hihi, Fallow! Yes, I remember you from training." Fallow had been one of the few people she'd exchanged names with. She'd made notes to meet the others outside of class, but Fallow had been extra friendly and they just couldn't help but make introductions in the middle of lassoing and being lassoed. "I'll do my best not to fall," she laughed. That wouldn't end well for her. Their little getaway wasn't the highest building in the city by any means, but there was still a high (get it?) chance of death if they fell. And while the death would only be temporary, Aurian didn't want to risk that in the time it took to reform she would miss a class. "I like that you don't giggle," Amarus told Aurian. A little mystified, Aurian nevertheless smiled and nodded. "Thank you?" she guessed was the polite response here. In Aurian's defense, she didn't really know of those giggly sorts of ghouls. "I suppose," she agreed with the other ghoul. "But you can never tell what the Clans are thinking. I mean, they let us come here, but some of them don't seem very happy about it. Does our being here mean that we're friends, or just that they want to learn about us before we end up beheaded, too?" Things that Aurian would never dare speak of near a Clans person (she had manners... and also didn't want to die a permanent death). But there were only other students here and they were standing in front of a fairly bloody painting, so Aurian felt a little justified in voicing her concerns. She really did hope that the Clans wanted to be friends, because some of them were very nice (like Ylaria and some of the priestesses from Death). But Aurian didn't want to be caught unawares, either. Cocking her head at Amarus, Aurian asked, "What do you mean by 'not right'?" She nodded at Clyde's suggestion. "There does seem to be a lack of minipets. But maybe the minipets just don't like it here?" They were everywhere back in Amityville and the surrounding areas, after all. Maybe the Clan Islands just weren't a native habitat. When she saw Mort fishing out his skellyphone details, Aurian whipped out her own phone. (Hey, those belts had a lot of inner pockets. Who knew what else could be hidden in there?) "Want to exchange numbers?" she asked, excited by the prospect of more friends to call or text. Outside, the number of birds continued to increase. Clyde might not be wrong about them wanting to eat the students... Ol-j-man Tell me about it. My Safari recently started freezing every time I tried to add, edit or delete a bookmark. Had to open every single one, copy the url to a text file, delete all Safari info from the library (stupid computer held on to it even after uninstall and reinstall), then add them all again manually.

Aurian eyed the birds cautiously, wondering just how many of these things there were. Maybe there was a reason the War clan liked feathers so much - maybe it the only way to keep the avian population down, by culling the flocks. Feather decoration may have just been an afterthought.
Beyond the birds, more warriors headed for the portal. Aurian pouted and cursed her lack of wings. "If I were something with wings, maybe I could follow and find out more," she grumbled. Sadly, a shadow was just as flightless as her current 'human' guise.

[[OOC: Sorry guys ; x; I had to finish one of my finals, it took me 8 hours OTL *couldn't reply to anything at all yesterday*]]
Those birds really did like Mort. "The adaras were a bird creature at the Conquest isle. Part of our training was, uh, to ... socialize with the adaras successfully," Amarus added on to Fallow's description, accepting Mort's card, staring at the text like it was gibberish. She slipped it into one of the many folds of her over-robe and promised to try to decipher it later. Some day. Jacking technology coupled with text format made her extremely uncomfortable. "Mort... did you put birdseed in your pockets, or something?"
"You saw them too, Clyde?" Amarus asked him, gesturing vaguely in the direction the horsemen had flown into the portal. That was weird. At least it wasn't a hallucination. Amarus didn't know much about Púca, or even that he was one; she wasn't exactly good at guessing anyone's subspecies. The best she could do was likely figure out if they were reapers, not reapers, and ghosts. Although admittedly, undead was pretty easy to spot, too. It was when it got to demons and monsters she had an incredibly difficult time figuring out which was which.
"Definitely didn't contribute anything you liked there, then," Amarus told Fallow, admitting defeat over the incense. She had contributed smoke, more smoke, and extra smoke. All of the burnt-paper variety. At least her hair hadn't gone up in flames. ... Could it? She was a ghost, so she didn't imagine it could. "Faustus and Olivia were two friends I made back in Conquest," she explained, in brief, to Fallow.
She eyed her feet. She hadn't known that the Conquest folk had such a hang up on shoes-- and then it suddenly clicked. "One of them told me I wasn't wearing the appropriate slippers. I didn't realize that would apply everywhere," she verbalized the realization. Amarus never even wore shoes. Her feet were wrapped in some kind of cloth, but that was it.
Friends? Amarus tilted her head at Aurian, curious. Why would the clanspeople think of them as... friends? "If my friends could slaughter me without a pause like I'm certain these clanspeople can, I do not think I would consider them friends for very long," she voiced her opinion. Not that she had many friends to begin with. Amarus eyed the skellyphone exchange with her mirror-silver eyes. For Jack's sake, she'd only managed to text Faustus so far, and that was on one of the borrowed skellyphones.
"I don't... actually have a skellyphone," she finally found herself explaining. Again. This was going to happen a lot, wasn't it.
Oh, good. Now, for whatever reason, more birds had arrived, and they were also eying Amarus.
