Ciel came in late. She sighed deeply at herself, drawing in the scent of incense as she did. This gave her pause. She blinked a few times, then came closer, hovering near students as she watched them grind and combine various items into incense.

After watching for a few minutes, she nodded to herself, then went to try her hand. She took some assorted spices and woods to an empty seat along with the gum Arabic, charcoal, and punks, then set to work.

(Step 1: Rose, Cardamon, Nutmeg, Sandalwood and Cedarwood)

With the charcoal added in, Ciel began adding the Gum Arabic. Again, as she had missed the class, she wasn't sure how much to add! Was it more charcoal or gum needed? She scratched her head and cursed being late.

Ciel breathed a sigh of relief. Now the incense was holding, she just had to wait.

Nervously, she fidgeted in her seat. Outside she could hear students rumbling through the obstacle course of the next class. Would she be late for this one, too? Then again, they hadn't seemed to care she was not there. Perhaps being late would be OK.

Ceil played with a lock of her messy brown hair, twisting and untwisting it as she waited for the incense to dry.
