Weapon CraftingWhile the Horsemen of War can summon their Clan weapon to them at any point, many take pride in mastering a variety of mundane weaponry as well, both combat and manufacture - no sense in limiting oneself to only one mode of battle, after all! Even 'decorative' weapons bear a brutal edge. The Crafters' Den is a sheltered platform halfway up a massive pine, with all the materials one might want, other than metal. The head Crafter, a sharp-eyed older Horsewoman, carefully watches all students under her care to ensure a.) nothing goes missing and b.) nobody gets stupid. "You can have enough to make one knife," she grumbles. "And don't waste it, either!" Can you impress her with your craftsmanship? ... Probably not. But it's worth a try. Phase One: Weapon Creation Create a weapon of War and test its mettle. If your craftsmanship is good, you may be victorious and gain the head Crafter's favor. For a minute or two, anyway. In your first post, roll 3d4 to determine what your knife is made of, how well it is made, and how it is decorated.First Dice: Material - 1: Wood (+1 point) - 2: Seashell (+2 points) - 3: Bone (+3 points) - 4: Stone (think flint or obsidian; +4 points) Second Dice: Craftsmanship - 1: You're in a bit of a hurry, so... (Shoddy: +1 point) - 2: You throw something together. It looks kinda close? (Mediocre: +2 points) - 3: You spend a bit of time on it, and come up with something okay. (Acceptable: +3 points) - 4: You throw yourself into your work with passion, paying close attention to detail! (Awesome: +4 points) Third Dice: Artistry - 1: It's a knife. Does it really matter if it's pretty or not? (Ugly: +1 point) - 2: You wrap the hilt in leather. Good enough. (Decent: +2 points) - 3: You wrap the hilt in leather and add a feather. Pretty! (Shiny: +3 points) - 4: You wrap the hilt in leather and add stylish strands of beads and feathering. That is one cool knife. (Stylish: +4 points) Roleplay out your knife's creation! At the end of your post, put the specifics of your knife's creation (i.e. Shoddy Stylish Wood Knife) along with the total score (the total of your dice roll).Phase Two: Weapon Testing In the Clan of War, there is no such thing as a decorative blade! Even weapons destined to hang on the walls of huts are finished to battle-ready quality. You must test your knife and prove its worth, attacking the simple leathery mannequin kept in the Den for that purpose. Take your knife's point score from the creation post. This is your knife's HP. You must now do battle until your knife breaks! The number of posts your knife survives determines the number of points you get. To Do Battle:Roll 2d4 in each post. The first dice indicates the number of damage your knife does to the test target (for RP flavor!). The second dice indicates the amount of damage your knife takes from the attack. Battle ends when your knife shatters. Aw. (And yes, this means you can't take it with you. Sorry!) Point Distribution [ Horsemen Points Distribution: ] (Select only one option based on your results) You win one point if: You finish your knife (with filled-out RP) and last one or two rounds of testing. You win two points if: You finish your knife (with filled-out RP) and last three or four rounds of testing. You win three points if: You finish your knife (with filled-out RP) and last over five rounds of testing.

After yesterdays attempts at training and then need for climbing to high places, the black dog figured it was time to try something else. Maybe something a little more relaxed and maybe, just maybe, less dangerous? Fortunately for him, he managed to drag Amphi along for today's events. Too bad he hadn't asked for her thoughts on weapon making before he dragged her along.
"Thanks for coming with me again today." He said, taking the seashell and sharpening it into a pointed blade. He had no idea how effective it would be, but it looked pretty. Maybe it would be good as a souvenir? Then again, with the black dog's shoddy craftsmanship, it was likely to turn into a shitty looking blade.
The thought seemed to damper his mood, because shortly after, he was grumbling as continued to work on it. Fighting with it a little more to try and make it look nicer before he wrapped the hilt in leather. He could have put more effort into it, sure. But really, its not like he was going to keep it and use it to fight, right? Though... It was probably thoughts like that that the black dog did such a poor job on making it in the first place.
"I'm gonna' test it out!" he said excitedly. Standing up and swinging the blade back and forth.
Whoever had the bright idea of letting Tybalt have a knife probably wasn't thinking straight.

Still swinging the crudely made blade around, the black dog walked up to the mannequin, giving it a harsh look. Oh yes, it looked just like the others he had faced the other day. Which of course, had the black dog instinctively taking a step back, thinking it was going to start punching him at any given moment. Thankfully it remained still.
Looks like it was only for testing blades on. Not that he was complaining. He already had plenty of aches and sores from the ones before.
"Lets see how well this blade stand up to you, yeah?" He said puffing his chest out. Eager to try, he swung the blade out, bringing it down on the mannequin--only to hear a barely audible crack when it connected.
....
Surely it was his imagination.

Tybalt gave the blade a quick look over. He couldn't see any damage done to it... Then again, it was hard to tell with all the little crack like details in it already. Whatever. It probably was just his imagination. As if his blade would lose so easil---
CRACK
And just like that, on the second strike, the blade broke in two. But to add hurt to injury, it then crumbled into several pieces at his feet.
".....Jack damn it."

Amphi was not all that unhappy to be with the black dog, after all, it was better then being alone. With how she dragged him to the observation point and the Stadium, it was only right the Black dog did the same. She smiled as they sat down for weapon crafting. Finally, something that wasn't life or death battle of Epic anything!
She grabbed a piece of rock and viciously attacked it with a another rock, smoothing the sharpness out.
and go annoyed at how long it was taking and thus decided to follow Tybalts path and wrap the the dagger with a leather strap.
"Uh Tybalt, I don't...think you should...just swing that around..." She frowned at him. "I suppose...we should test them out." She went to a different mannequin and stared at it. "so sorry but I have to test it out to see if it last."

She followed suit of the black dog and attacked the mannequin. So far the weapon was holding alright.
At least she thought so.
The mannequin didn't seem all that worst for the wear either though...

She attacked again.
Pulling back though, she noticed that her stone was chipping away, giving it a jagged uneven edge.
Did stone knives do that?

she got in one last good hit and grinned. Yes! The Mannequin most defenitly had a dent in it now.
And so did her knife...in fact, the dent bent the stone in half and it fell from her hands in a pebbled mess.
"Okay that was alright." She looked over to Tybalt before patting the poor Black pup. "Seashells are only good for bra's." She pointed to hers and frowned...."Right?

Tybalt gave the mermaid ghoul a blank stare when she commented on the seashells and gestured towards her own.
Her own....
sea shells...
two in fact.
....
"Riiiiiight. Bras." He finally said, turning to walk out and look for something else to do.
Well that was a little awkward.
