THE LOTUS PAVILION General setting: The Lotus Pavilion is actually a series of floating pavilions, small in size, that hover over the water, covered in hundreds, thousands of blossoming lotus and lotus leaves. The bridges arch over the water, connecting to each other in series. This is considered a ceremonial spot for lovers, though it is often cleared during banquet hours for the Imperial family. Currently, the setting is empty, there are very few Conquest clans people milling around. OOC: EVENT ROLLS AND PROMPT MECHANICS: - When your student has arrived in this setting, you can CHOOSE to roll a 100-sided dice at any point in time. You can only do this twice per RP you make. Please do not MAKE more than 3 prps/orps (though you can join as many as invited) until you have finished them all (marked as FIN) Match your dice roll to the results below for a prompt/ small reaction that your student may discover. RP out results accordingly. 1-20: Your student looks up at the roof of the pavilion. The picture seems peaceful, but there seems to be one painting oddly out of place: of a Conquest member slaughtering several what look like humans rather graphically. It catches your eye for a second longer. 21 - 40: A Conquest clan member brushes past you, rather brusquely, giving you a strange dirty look. They are looking at your feet, and you notice that all the clan members in this pavilion are wearing special sandals except you. 41 - 60: You pass by a pavilion where several Clan members are seated in the center deep in meditation. It's best not to disturb them and talk quietly... (see below for horsemen point prompt) - Horsemen point prompt! You also see something glint next to you, but is it just a trick of the light? Roll a 6-sided dice. If odd you obtain one horsemen point! You can only redeem a max of two from all prompt prps/orps your student is in per OOC 24 hours. You can redeem these here and here! 61 - 80: You hear a strange, loud shout in the background, followed by what sound like weapons clashing. A little beyond the pavilion seems to be a small military training field. 81- 100: A clans member passes by you, speaking to you in a language you don't recognise at all. You blink, confused, and they too stare at you confused. They slowly amble off, muttering to themselves.

Junko had never been somewhere so beautiful before. She felt more at home here than she'd ever felt anywhere, and it was so nice to have someone who lived here willing to give her a tour of the place. She didn't wander far just yet, but her excitement was nearly palpable. "Oh wow, Invictus! I don't know how you could ever leave here!" Junko said in an awed tone, grasping the rail of a bridge and leaning over it to peer down at her reflection in the water. She could see her hair better in this and she grinned, reaching around to lift the braid in a way that she could see it. It was weird using her hand to do this.
Her hair was heavy.
"Ohhhh, I wish I'd chosen Conquest for both weeks and not just my first one." She pouted, looking up to Invictus. "Do you get to stay here or do you have to go to another isle too at some point?"

Invictus couldn't help but smile at her mirth, watching her enthusiasm as the futakuchi-onna seemed to just want to look at everything, walking up behind her as he also looked over the railing into the water. A few koi swam by underneath his reflection.
"I wouldn't have if I didn't have to uphold my loyalties to my home. I only leave if it is out of love for my people." he answered fondly, taking in the scenery, drinking it in. It really was beautiful. At least to him - and apparently to Junko as well. That was nice.
"I will stay here if I am able, but it is quite possible that his Imperial Majesty will ask me to go elsewhere again. I will do as he asks, as it is a small price to pay for what it is he offers to all of us...." and because he wanted to be a good son. There was something about the way he said it that implied it heavily. "But I'm sure you will have a chance to come back and visit again if the students make a good impression on my people."

He left..because he loved his people? Junko blinked, looking down at the koi in the pond below them. That made sense, she supposed. It must take a lot of fear to maintain a land so beautiful. The horsemen really were the cream of the crop, huh? Still, it was no wonder Invictus looked to be the most richly dressed of them all! Just look at where he was from! Junko sighed with admiration and folded her arms on the railing, resting her head atop of them. "That's really admirable. The Imperial Majesty is your father, right?" Was that how it worked? Or did 'heir' just mean any child of a horseman of the Conquest clan? Junko really knew nothing of their culture. That was sad, she wanted to know more if not for her own curiosity than for the curiosity and worries of students throughout the school. There were still students that didn't entirely trust the four clans, right? Junko wanted to find evidence that they were okay.
Anyone who lived in a land so beautiful couldn't be bad though...they couldn't be.
At Invictus' assurance that there was a chance she could visit again after the exchange Junko gasped and stood straight again, clapping her hands together just under her chin. "Really?! Oh, I hope we do! I think we annoyed the ambassador that was welcoming us earlier." Junko chuckled sheepishly, looking toward where their little orientation had been. It'd been important, though! She couldn't give a good impression if she was tripping everywhere and everyone! "I'm sure we'll do fine. I believe in them." She said confidently with a gentle smile, stepping away from the railing to walk along the bridge to the next pavilion.

"For our clan, yes. I am the eldest son of his Imperial Majesty." he answered, "but my rank was given because I proved myself over my siblings." It was an easy explanation, a simple one. "However, the other three heirs are not the biological children of the other horsemen, they had to prove themselves as well, simply not amongst their siblings." So as it was, Invictus had to be double fortune: born to the Imperial Majesty as well as prove himself worthy of the title.
Still, he could tell how she'd gotten the impression that the attendant from earlier had been getting impatient. "We as a clan have many things to attend to on a day to day basis. They were most likely anxious to get back to their duties. Our duties are important to us here. Manners, tradition."
Invictus could have gone on about his homeland, sounding rather fond of the structure, but he also seemed like he was a highly structured sort of individual as well. "I would say to be less concerned by those who are from Amityville, and bring more concern to those who are not as... intimately familiar with the heirs, even. I could name even one individual at the Trial of Famine who would likely stir up trouble if they spoke to those in my clan as they did to me publicly."

Proved himself? Now she was curious how that worked. Junko scratched at her cheek as Invictus explained how it worked, somewhat confused when he said the other heirs weren't..biological. Wouldn't it make sense for them to be biological children? Like Invictus here? That was strange. Junko considered herself very lucky the only thing she had to prove herself to was well...herself. She reached up to toy with a piece of her bangs, rubbing it between her thumb and index finger in a comforting motion for herself. She was doing alright so far. "Ohhh! Okay. I'm glad it wasn't us, then." She giggled, smiling again. She was loving the sound of this place more and more. Junko was beginning to wish she could be a horseman of Conquest. She could do it! She would love to! Sigh. Ah, so the students not from Amityville could be the ones to ruin it for everyone? Junko's smile fell, feeling worried now. She desperately hoped the other schools' students would know better... "At the Trial of Famine? What happened?" Junko asked with genuine surprise. Who could say anything terrible to Invictus?! He was so nice! ""A tiny clan member in a long green robe wandered past them, stopping when they saw Invictus and Junko. She was quick to bow for the heir, giving Junko a smile after and saying...something. Junko's eyes widened. She didn't know that language. The two kind of just looked at each other for a long moment before the clan member sighed and continued on her way, muttering to herself in that same language. Junko was so confused. "I...I have no idea what she just said.." She felt bad for not knowing. Quote: 81- 100: A clans member passes by you, speaking to you in a language you don't recognise at all. You blink, confused, and they too stare at you confused. They slowly amble off, muttering to themselves.

Ah, he had not made a spectacle of the scene, but never the less....
"She attempted to appeal to my vanity by saying the students of Amityville would 'never make it as horsemen'," another betrayal of his emotional mask came through, his brows furrowing together as though he felt that statement was very odd for any denizen of Halloween to make, "before trying to force the fact that such a thing should have made it 'entertaining' for me to watch as though I should have been proud of such thing."
Junko had probably just seen a wider range of emotion right there than anybody in Amityville had ever seen.
When the clan member walked by, Invictus also bowed back to them, not as deeply, but enough to be considered polite. The pregnant pause had the Heir looking between the two, taking a moment to realize what the problem was as his clansman left the pair to continue their discussion.
"She said 'You have very lovely hair, young miss.' followed by 'Perhaps we should offer a language course.'" Invictus clarified, sounding like he was taking it deeply into consideration. However, the heir then continued to add another thing, "In the future, when someone bows to greet you, bow back. It's considered polite and respectful. If they are of known higher status, bow lower than they do, if you aren't sure, match how deeply they bowed to you." He didn't sound like he was trying to patronize her, but simply trying to help Junko make good impressions.
As he spoke, another individual brushed past them, turning to look towards the pair - feet first. As it was, Invictus's feet were very covered so to look over them would have only brought the scowling Horseman to look up...and up....
Only to be met with Invictus's cold expression, having hardened back to the one that was most familiar to the students of Amityville. Opening his mouth he spoke - that same unfamiliar language the Horseman from earlier had used - which had the figure bowing to him - a very deep bow - before going on his way.

Who...who in Halloween would say such a foolish thing?! Junko was frowning again, watching Invictus as he explained what had happened. She'd never seen him give an actual emotion on his face before; Invictus was always so cold and stoic whenever she was around him. He had even smiled at her earlier! This was a side of Invictus she never knew existed! She liked it. "..That's silly. I can see even now you're not like that." Junko smiled, tracing a finger over a lotus leaf that was within her reach. Oh hey! The koi looked so much closer now that they were on the pavilion! Junko giggled. They were so cute! "While in the past couple hours I have entertained the thought of wishing I could be a horseman of Conquest simply to live here, I know very well all I want is to make it as a futakuchi-onna someone can be proud of. I want to be myself, that's all. I'm sure the rest of Amityville is the same way. How rude of that student..I'm sorry you had to deal with that. They weren't one of ours, then?" She looked disappointed at first, eventually becoming a little prouder when it hit her. It really wasn't someone from Amityville who had said something so stupid. She was glad.
The clansman gone, Junko blushed and self-consciously reached up to pet her hair as Invictus translated what the horsewoman had said. "Oh! Haha, I wish I could have told her thank you." She giggled, pulling the long braid over her shoulder to pet at her hair and smile fondly at it. She loved her hair so much, it meant a lot to her that a horseman would compliment it. Though at Invictus' quick reminder of bowing she blushed again, her smile faltering. "Ah..yes..I know. And I do! I promise! I always do. I was taught better than...I was just thrown off by..I got nervous." Her lips pouted, petting her hair to comfort herself all over again. She knew Invictus wasn't trying to do that, but being reminded she had forgotten such a simple act of manners was rather embarrassing for the ghoul.
Another clansmen passed them and stopped, and she watched as they sized Invictus up. Junko had to press her fingers to her lips to keep herself from giggling. She didn't understand what Invictus had said but it was pretty clear he had just told him what for. Hehe! She bows to the other horseman before he left, and then waited for the horseman to be gone before she finally allowed herself to show her amusement. She giggled. "That was interesting. I'd love to learn your language if I can, Invictus. It sounds similar to my own! English is not my first language, you know. It's just what's..more commonly spoken so..." She shrugged. How hard could Invictus' language be?
She continued along, admiring the painting on the ceiling until yet another horseman bumped into her. She squeaked, catching her footing quickly. When she turned to greet whoever it was she instead found them staring at her feet. They muttered something, bowed, to which she bowed in return, and continued on their way.
"...Is there something about feet I'm missing out on?"

"No, it was a young individual who was visiting. I believe I saw her face in those exchange students, however....." There was something about that statement which was probably worrisome, but Invictus didn't linger upon it for very long. "I do not blame you for liking my home, however. I have worked hard to try and help it keep the splendor it has. There are many others who work just as hard. It may be a strange way to grow up, but I would have had it no other way." Truly, would anybody have felt things... odd if he hadn't been the heir?
"It is fine, I wasn't sure if you were aware of it or not and thought I would remind you. A small slip up here or there is to be expected, but I felt it would be a good thing to say in case you didn't know." he seemed almost apologetic for perhaps offending her intelligence? It was quite possible that's what that expression had meant.
"If you think it would be helpful, I could see about arranging a course on the language of Horsemen. What we speak as a clan is also spoken amongst the other clans as well. It is sort of... 'our' language." he explained. Having to know two languages right out the door had prepared him to learn the hundreds of others he had picked up along the way in his ventures into the human world. He had to be able to read and understand to some extent, after all.
He watched as another exchange of foot-stares happened, giving the next individual a long look, before he turned to look to Junko, lifting up his robes enough to show his feet. "On the Pavilion, members of the clan have specific sandals we wear. I would believe that back in the dorms such things are available to your use, but without being told I don't think anybody would know what they were for."
Especially if the signs were written in Horseman.
Still, as he continued to walk with Junko, they passed a group in meditation, prompting the Horseman to carefully lift his hand to his lips in a silent 'Best to be quiet' gesture, pausing when he saw something glinting out of the corner of his eye and turning to look at it briefly. He paused, moving to pick it up, turning the token over in his hands before he turned, offering it to Junko.
"It appears someone dropped a clan token." he noted. "Would you like it?"

Oh, dear. Someone who could possibly run this for all of them? "Let's hope they know to be on their best behavior then." Junko sighed. Great. Please let whoever it had been not ruin this for all of them. Hopefully the actions of a single individual would not reflect on all of them.
"Thank you, Invictus. I appreciate the concern." Junko meant it. The fact that Invi had warned her and showed genuine interest in them succeeding meant a lot to her. He wanted them to do well, not just standing on the sidelines and letting them learn completely on their own. Were the other heirs this way as well? She had never really interacted with any of the heirs except brief encounters here and there. Aisa in one of Cricket's classes, Cymbeline on that damned island...Cymbeline made Junko incredibly uncomfortable. Eris? She had never said a word to Eris. So far Invictus was the most interaction she had ever had. She liked him so far, he was a lot nicer than he seemed back in Amityville. He'd smiled!
Junko brightened up considerably when Invictus offered to try arranging language courses. "Really? You would do that? That sounds so fun! I doubt a week is enough to be, like, really fluent or anything but it'd be a start and...I'd love that! Thank you, Invictus!" Or maybe it was too early to thank him. Either way she was excited! Though when he lifted his robes enough for her to see his feet she blinked and looked down to find..he was wearing sandals.
...Sandals. She could do sandals.
"I think I might have seen them, but I was only in there long enough to drop off my stuff..I'll have to check them out later. I'll explain it to the others if they don't figure it out." Junko smiled, happily skipping alongside Invictus now. She was getting more and more excited by the minute, though when she spotted the meditating horsemen her skipping stopped immediately. Right. Yes. Quiet. She nodded to Invictus' gesture and walked silently, only stopping when Invictus did and watching him curiously.
A clan token? Pretty! Junko nodded. "Sure!" She replied with a whisper so as not to disturb the meditation. He was so generous! "Thank you very much, Invictus." He was a lot nicer than she thought!

As it was, he had figured the tokens would be more interesting to the students than they were to him. He'd seen them all the time, they were normal to him. Then again, there was a sort of lingering sentimentality how he turned it over in his fingers before he set the token into Junko's hand. "Then it is yours." he answered just as quietly, looking to the meditation for a moment before moving to walk away from it, his hand against the futakuchi-onna's back to guide her along with him.
"I would be willing - if there were a few students who were interested in it - to give a brief lesson on how to speak Horseman. Simple things such as please, thank you, and other such things of that variety. I imagine in the other territories they would be helpful." He thought about it for a moment. "I imagine if you could find at least two other students who would be interested in it as well as came up with a few phrases you felt would be helpful to your time spent in the clans lands," hurr, that rhymed, "I could take the time to offer a small lesson of sorts."
It would likely only last for an afternoon or so. Yes, he'd probably enjoy that. Between other class endeavors.

It was a shame her hair wasn't able to move, or it would be lifting around her like a pleased, puffed up bird. She accepted the token happily, tucking it away into her sleeve where it would be safe until she had a place she could really keep it later. Junko looked surprised when she felt Invictus' hand against her back but allowed him to guide her away, smiling and looking back at the meditating horsemen before they were out of sight.
A few students, hmm? "That'd be great! Ohhh we could make a good impression if we knew a few words in Horseman too, huh?" Junko grinned, clapping her hands excitedly and bouncing on her toes a little as they walked. This would be great! "I'll see who I can get! I'm sure Xiu would be happy to join in, and maybe I can get Levi...annnnd..I'll ask other students who'd look like they'd be interested." Squealing with delight, Junko turned to throw her arms around Invictus in a tight hug, grinning from ear to ear.
"You're the best, Invi~!" She wasn't quite sure where that sudden nickname had come from but hey it worked for the moment so uh..enjoy, Invictus!

It seemed like she had all sorts of ideas of where to start with her classmates wanting to possibly learn Horseman. In fact, she'd started right off with names, and while he wasn't too familiar with Xiu, he did know that Levi did always seem eager to do a good job, though. Well, he'd like to think everybody would be on their best behavior as she wanted, but never the less.
"It will at least make it less awkward if you can say 'Sorry, I do not understand' in our tongue and prevent another incident as there was earlier. " When the woman had complimented her hair and then walked off commenting on the language.
However, if Invictus had been expecting anything, it wasn't the suddenly hug he got from Junko, taking it in stride after a moment to realize that yes, that was indeed a hug. And apparently a nickname. He tried to not make a face at the impromptu nickname - given that even Cymbeline, Aisa, and Eris had gotten the looks with the nicknames as well, and perhaps a bit more grouching about it as well.
However, he just wrapped one arm around her shoulder, not really a hug back but as close as he was going to get without being completely awkward. "You're welcome."

"That would definitely be good to know too, I think. I know what it's like to fall into a language you're more comfortable with and forget not everyone around you will know it all of the time.." Like the time she and Tomoko had gotten excited to see each other in one of Cricket's classes. That was a definite example right there. She hoped she would be able to get enough interest for it, especially because Invictus was so graciously offering something that hadn't originally been planned by any of the clans as far as she was aware. Maybe he could even give her lessons when they returned to Amityville, for future visits and the like. Oh, she hoped so!
The returned hug, despite it only being with one arm, was very unexpected but welcome all the same. She was smiling as she released him, hopping lightly on her toes as she walked with sheer excitement. "This is going to be the best week ever~." She didn't want to go to the Isle of Death next week! She wanted to stay here! "Thank you very much for walking with me and showing me around, by the way. I'll keep all the tips you've told me in mind and make the best impression yet." Every little bit counted. If every student put just a little bit of extra effort behind their actions she was sure they wouldn't fail. Though at the mention of making impressions her eyes did drift toward Invictus, or rather what he was wearing. He always did have the loveliest robes...it was no wonder now just seeing where he came from. She smiled again, playing with her bangs. "And thank you for the token. I'll be sure to take very good care of it."
