It was pretty much what Yin had been thinking himself, but he had rather hoped that he would promise anyway. "The promises that you can make will be acceptable," he decided. "And I shall do my best to keep from getting too injured unnecessarily. I made that promise to Nurse Cricket and I will make it to you as well." Not that he was going to mention why he had to make that promise to Nurse Cricket in the first place.

He simply did not like trusting the zomboil's well being to these horsemen. Before it had seemed like a good idea to take classes that sounded interesting. Now he was just a bit worried about what the future held.

Then he had an idea. It was a genius idea. Really, it was. "If you stay safe this entire trip you can have a prize," he said, almost delightedly. "We shall make it a competition. With the usual prize?" The zomboil could be competitive, and Yin was willing to try to do whatever it took to give him the incentive to stay safe.

Alex's lips twitched upwards into a smile. "Okay, well then, I officially promise that I will do my best to stay safe, and that I will take no needless or unnecessary risks that may bring me to some harm." He said it as though he were swearing on something, with one hand held where his non-beating heart lay in his chest and the other hand raised in the air. He wondered why Yin was suddenly so worried about these things, and what might have set off his sudden paranoia, but he decided not to ask. Yin would tell him, if he felt Alex should know. He learnt his lesson about pressing the weremantis for answers.

"I mean, really Yin, I'm much more worried about next week then this one. At least here we get to be together. Next week..well..." Again, Alex didn't really want to think about that now, didn't want it to invade his thoughts and ruin the time he was having while he did get to have Yin by his side.

"But a weeks really not that long.." That was a lie. Alex knew exactly how long a week could be, when he had spent a whole one not talking to or hanging out with Yin, just after scarentines day.

"A...a competition?" He blinked, staring down at the other boil in confusion. "Oh, well, I guess that could work! I still haven't redeemed my prize from our last game that I won." He reminded the other boil. "If I win again, can I just get one big prize or do I have to choose two little ones." His smile turned into a large and tooth filled grin.

"No, not really that long." Really, they had known each other for four months. A week was not horrendously long. It was a week he was dreading as well, worried for the zomboil, but he planned on just acting as though everything was fine, everything was perfectly fine. It was just a week. "And it seems as though I shall be in contact with you in some fashion."

That was not necessarily a reminder he wanted. But fair was fair. "Not too big of a prize," he decided after some thought. "But I suppose that would work." Who knew if he would regret that decision or not. Ah well, it was time to head back to the dormitory and get this learning nonsense over with.

Alex's grin remained as they started heading once again towards the exit. If Yin didn't think it was all that long to be apart from each other, then surely everything would turn out fine, right? And the other boil had agreed to learn to use Alex's phone, which was an excellent idea in Alex's mind, as long as Yin could get the hang of it, which he was sure the weremantis could.

He had to laugh a little at Yin's reply to his prizes comment, reaching up to run a hand through his hair with his free hand. "Okay, not too big then." he agreed.

It was really a shame that they had to leave this room now. Soon they would be out of the canopied room and back on the forest floor, headed towards where they would be residing with the other students for the remainder of the week. He had been enjoying being alone with Yin for what time they could have, but he reminded himself once again that he had to stop relying so heavily on the other boil for company, that he needed space.

Letting go of Yin's hand, he began his descent down the ladder back to the forest floor so that they could hopefully find something to eat and then head over to the dorms.
