Keelah Se'lai had was not exactly new to the Academy, but at the same time he had still only explored a small percentage of the vast grounds. It seemed that only yesterday that his acceptance letter arrived and now he was here, walking the corridors in which his father would have walked all those years ago. The numerous hallways and twists left him dumbfounded, even now, yet he had made it to his first class of the day in plenty of time to spare. It was a room he was not familiar with, but it looked remarkably like every other potion's room in the school.
At least the interior was constant if nothing else.
Double desks faced the blackboard at the front and chairs were placed in line with military precision, which suggested they were to be paired up. Students were talking in small groups, all in the black and white uniform which some wore with respect and which others had taken the liberty to decorate themselves. Keelah looked around lazily, pulling the earphones from his ear's and placing his hand in his trouser pocket casually.
He finally sat down, taking a seat by the window so he could look out and stare at the grand architecture of the institution aswell as the deep blue sky above. He placed down his bag and reached over for the book which each duo was presented with, awaiting them on their desks on arrival. His potions book seemed never-ending, the pages had yellowed with age and the leather cover was dusty and flaking away. It reminded him of the old tomes that were found in the grand library where his mother worked. He flipped through the mammoth text casually, bright eyes scanning over the swirls and inkblots which covered the pages.
Very ornate, very grand and so very very daunting.
Whilst he was flicking through the book, out of the corner of his eye he caught sign of the soft bandages hid under his clothes, small red speckles staining the otherwise pure linen. Quickly he pulled his cuff over his hand. The sight of his own blood no longer made him squirm, however he was sure that other students would not share his strong stomach or his interest in.... somewhat peculiar wizardry.

A very nervous looking mononoke looked walked down the hallway, glancing at each door until she found the right number above them. Oh my goodness was she nervous, even her tail looked a bit more poofy! I mean this was it! Her first class! Scentana's black and white striped tail swished back and forth behind her as she looked at the doorway of the classroom. Her beautiful purple eyes scanned the interior. She was very new to this school and was glad she had at least been able to find her first class! After all it was the class she was most interested in, potions! Taking a deep breath she walked into the room.
Like the other students she was dressed in her black and white uniform. However hers hard required a bit of alteration due to her fluffy tail. Her skirt had been made so her tail could come out of the back rather than just coming out from underneth. She was well known to suddenly raise her tail so she was mortified at the idea of her unmentionables being exposed everytime she got surprised. There were already some other students there, all gathered in small groups. She didn't know any of them, having not made any friends yet. She didn't feel confidant enough to enter a group right now. She clutched her book to her chest.
Out of her corner of her eye she saw a splash of blue; it turned out to be the hair of another student. She blinked. She had never seen hair so vivid a blue color. Sure her sister Riviera had dark blue hair but it almost looked black. Her inate curiousity took the place of her nervousness. Feeling a bit more confidant about meeting someone new as he was alone she walked over.
"Wow you have really blue hair," she said then immediately felt stupid. As if he wouldn't know his hair was blue. Once again Captain Obivious and her fabulous observations. "Ah...sorry. Um....mind if I sit here?"

The boy looked to the side, a statement like that could not have been directed towards anyone else. Natural Bluenette's were rare, even in a world as magical as this one.
Bright eyes looked at the girl nearby, a blue eyebrow raising slightly at her words. That was, a very blunt and direct way of putting it - though her words did not seem to hold any negative intent. The boy smiled, resting his elbow on the desk and sitting his shin in his palm. The mononoke had already managed to amuse him ever so slightly, the shy ones were always so much fun to play with. "Yes, indeed I do." He nodded his head slightly, his tone very matter-of-fact.
Then he tilted his head forward every so slightly, his long blue locks covering his eye and falling with the motion of his head. "And you have... beautiful eyes." His eyes were first set on her tail, but then decided to end the sentence with something a little unexpected. No doubt her tail was pointed out all the time in compassion to her eyes. He had never met one of her kind before and was silently curious, more so than he was about the class which was ahead of them.
He looked ahead smugly, then realized she had asked him a question. He blinked and paused for a moment before his eyes turned soft and he kicked the other chair out slightly with his foot. It is not like he was saving it for anybody and she was rather cute. If life gave you lemons... "The seat is not taken, I do not mind the company. Though I admit now, I know little to nothing about potions." He might as well be honest, he did not have a clue so if she was expecting an easy ride she would be bitterly disappointed. The whole class seemed a little too close to cooking for him, another activity he was incredibly bad at.

Sin was glad the boy hadn't taken offense or insulted her for pointing out the obvious. Really this whole witch filled world was so hard to get use too. The boy was kind of cute, her cheeks reddening a bit at his flirty look. She wondered if he was like that to all girls. Two of her older sisters had given her talks before she left about overly flirty guys. Not that she had thought much about such things.
She clutched her book a little closer, the edge hiding her mouth and cheeks. She blushed even more when he complimented her eyes. Rarely had anyone talked about her purple eyes, more often she was made fun of or snide comments were given about her animal form. Oh she hoped she didn't transform! She always popped into her animal form when she got too nervous!! "Um....my name is Scetana by the way. But people sometimes just call me Sin for short."
At the pro-offered chair she smiled and nodded, moving to sit. She had to maneuver a bit to allow for her tail then set her large book down. She had an extra one in addition to the classroom book. "Oh I adore potions! I'm pretty good actually! I've made a few of my own." She reached into her skirt pocket and produced two small vials. One was as purple as her eyes, the other was yellow.
"My family are all cooks and bakers so...well...it kinda comes naturally to me," she smiled and produced a small tied up cloth. She untied the ribbon and revealed some fresh made cookies.

"It's nice to meet you Sin, I am Keelah. Keelah Se'lai." A girl's name; or so a lot of people seemed to think. Keelah did not understand his mothers motives for giving her son such a feminine sounding name, nor did he pretend to. Yet it was his and he had become quite fond of it, afterall a person only got one. Admittedly he seemed it a little unoriginal that the girls mother had given her Skunk daughter a fragrance themed name, but everyone to there own.
He listened as she explained a little about her family.
His family did not have such a profession, his mother had no magical talents and worked as a librarian. His father on the other hand... he did not know what magical talents he possessed, what talents could have passed down to him. He rested his hand over his wrist, clenching it slightly; though despite this a smile kept on his face. Such thoughts were too dark to share, especially with a stranger. He had become quite good at smiling on command. "Some things just seem to flow down bloodlines." He nodded, a statement that had proven itself true time and time again. There was a lot you could learn about something from just one drop of the stuff.
He crossed his arms on the desk and used them to cradle his head, he usually fell asleep in class, however this was the first time a teacher had made him sleepy before they arrived. First class and already late, tut tut. "I am afraid cooking is the only thing I am worse at. That in itself is stronger than any poison a herbologist might conjure." He scoffed thinking about his many failed experiments in the kitchen, his father was no chef, that was for sure. He closed his eyes, the smell from the cookies wandering into his nostrils. One eye opened slightly to look up at his new lab partner. "They smell lovely."

Sin smiled and nodded as Keelah introduced himself. She began arranging her area of the desk a bit before the teacher arrived. Granted she had yet to see the potions teacher. From information she had overheard the teacher was a bit old and sometimes feel asleep before class. She couldn't help but smirk at bit at the thought.
Then she turned her attention back to Keelah as he spoke of his bad skills with cooking. Well not everyone was a good cook. Sin had come to learn her talents in the kitchen were well thought of in her dorm full of hungry witchlings. It was never a surprise to hear a knock at her door while she was cooking dinner and see a few faces who had smelled whatever it was she was making. Of course she always made more, anticipating the requests. But they never stayed, prefering to go to their dorms and eat or hang out with their friends. Ultimately Sin ate by herself.
"You are welcome to have a cookie, it looks like you could use a bit of a pick me up," she smiled at the sleepy looking boy. Sugar always did give you pep even if it was temporary. Maybe she should bring cookies to every class, though some teachers may disapprove of such behavior. She'd have to look into it. She nibbled on one of the cookies and opened the book the class had provided. The potions seemed simple enough but you really had to know when to add something or when to turn the heat up. To her it was just another recipe.
"Well if nothing else I can help you with potions. If the teacher assigns homework you can always practice in my dorm. I have all sorts of ingreidents I found in the forest," she nodded. Maybe this would get her more visitors if she offered tutoring; both in cooking and potion making.

Keelah looked over at the cookies for a moment, admittedly he had not had one since he was little, his tastes for sweets left him a long time ago, around the time he started dabbling in the dark arts. He straightened up; afterall it seemed like the girl though he was down for some reason, which was not actually the case - he just liked comfort, feathered beds, warm bosoms, ect. "No thank you." He shook his head, his long blue ponytail falling over his shoulder and resting on the desk infront. The tome he was reading was now totally disregarded and would most likely do so until the teacher entered.
Deciding that he might have sounded a little blunt in his rejection of her treats he thought to give an explanation. "I am sure they are delicious, but your body is a temple and I am a picky eater." Physical health was something that he required in order to practice his art and he kept to a strict diet and work out routine.
A smile widened on his face and before long he started to resemble somewhat of a Cheshire cat, oh yes, the innocent ones were always a lot of fun.
"In your dorm?" Not only did that break the rules of the Academy it was a sure fire way to get people talking, Keelah had been in the girls dorms before but never with only one companion. Amused, he lifted his hand once more and rested his cheek about it, his eyes narrow and playful. "It is not the best idea to invite strange boys back into your room, not everyone has ...noble intentions." He chuckled slightly, she was a sweet kid, but totally and utterly oblivious. "Even though the thought of your company is far, if not the total opposite of displeasing... I will save you the trouble of classmates taking of us making chemistry in your room. Any help you can offer in class though would be appreciated."
Blue eyes looked over the girl, not breaking eye-contact as he spoke.

Sin wasn't insulted by his rejection of the cookies. After all some people didn't like sweets this early in the morning. She nodded at his explination and put her small cloth away, continuing to nibble on her own cookie. So he wanted to stay fit huh? Well that wasn't something Sin was overly worried about, she loved to eat more than she did exercise. The women in her family were.....ample....in several ways so she wasn't the kind to watch her weight.
Though she did look confused as the boy started talking about coming to her dorm. What was wrong with that? After all they would be working on homework. The blue haired boy was hardly strange in her opinion but then he mentioned noble intentions. What did he mean by that? Making chemistry in her room? Being talked about. It was all so confusing until something her eldest sister had said to her kicked in......then it made total sense. Sin's face immediately became bright red right as the teacher walked in.
"Ok class, sorry I am late I...."
POOF! In a fit of embarressment Sin suddenly popped into her skunk form. This was sadly an effect of massive emotional distress. The fluffy skunk, haing more of an animal mindset immediately looked for somewhere to hide. This set off lots of scretching from most of the girls. The teacher blinked then looked at Keelah.
"What DID you say to the girl to get her to transform? Ah never mind! Students! Students be calm! A mononoke is not something to be afraid of, we just have to get her calmed down and she can turn back. Do please quit screaming Margen or you will get sprayed. Just let her find a spot to calm down.....no Jarred we cannot cage her," more students offered up options but the harried teacher was not listening. She had to get her animal student back into humaniod form. This was the annoying part of mononoke witchlings, had a hard time controling their transformations when under emotional strain.
The teacher continued to calm the class while Sin took refuge underneth a bookshelf. She made little grunt noises, wondering how she was going to get out of this loud room.

It all happened so fast, one moment she was a girl, the other she was a... well, you can guess.
The class suddenly looked like a scene from a Frankenstein novel, the students playing the role of the villagers with pitchforks. Next thing he knew the teacher was screaming at him, girls were comically stood on their seats and the guys were just looking on blankly coming up with battle strategies. "Err..." Was all he could say, this was... interesting. Never the less the gir-skunk-thing seemed to be in distress so he knew it was time to come to the rescue.
He rolled his eyes as someone suggested getting a cage, he guessed it was time to take action, its not like he wanted to be in this class anyway.
Keelah emptied his bag on the table, notes and general school equipment flooding out onto the desk, since it was the first day he had nothing too important in it, nothing he did not mind leaving behind. He than grabbed the girls things and wandered over to the bookshelf. He knelt down and opened the bag, giving her an escape route. "Come on, get your bushy little tail in the bag." He winked, it was not every day he got to say that.

Little distressed noises were coming from under the bookshelf were a very embarressed Sin stayed hidden.
Sin could still understand what everyone was saying despite her animal nature. Now she was frightened that they would hurt her. She heard screaming and the girls generally freaking out and the boys all suggesting forms of capture. Sometimes being a mononoke was hard, why couldn't she have been something more cute like a rabbit or a cat? But no she was a skunk, having all that lovely connection to stink and bad tempers.
Sin had never sprayed anyone! Not even her sisters when they picked on her! She did have some mind about her when in this form but she was more inclinded to be defensive and run away.
From under the bookshelf she saw someone approach but she was too confined to raise her tail in alarm. Good thing since it was merely someone trying to help her. Then she saw what looked like a black tunnel. An escape route? She ran for it, straight into Keelah's backpack. Now she was trapped but sensed she wasn't in danger.
She made a few more cute skunk noises.

Keelah stayed perfectly still until he felt a weight shift in his back. In that moment he threw it over his shoulder and looked around at all the stunned faced in the room. This skunk-girl owed him so many lessons for this. The blue haired teenager sighed and wondered towards the door. "Where do you think your going?" He heard the teacher ask, however her question was only met with a look of annoyance from him. "I am going to fix it, unless you would rather your students birth kittens over this whole incident." With that he turned and made his way outside.
He liked the school grounds, they were vast and colourful. A place were he often spent his time.
He made his way over to a tree and settled down between its roots. He laid the bag on the ground next to him so the girl could come out in her own time. Admittedly missing chemistry was not something he was heart broken about. Infact this whole situation could not have ended better, he crossed his arms behind his head and closed his eyes. Maybe he could catch some sleep whilst he was waiting for his little friend to poof back to normal.

Not too long after the bag was sat down a small black nose poked out from under the flap. Scentana the skunk sniffed about around the edge of the backpack before slowly peeking out. Her little white tuffed head looked around, seeing a blue haired boy. Oh dear....that meant...she had changed again. And it had been in the middle of class!!! She hated being a skunk mononoke sometimes; if she had been a cat or a dog she could have at least stayed in class! But no, as it always happened everyone around her freaked out. She tried to calm her self but was still highly embarressed having transformed in the middle of class. She slipped out of the pack, gave herself a quick shake, then waddled her way into some bushes. She knew she could calm down if she wasn't being looked at.
It took a few minutes but finally she calmed herself down enough to where the soft glow appeared around her and she was humanoid again. Her little black ears were flat against her head in boy embarressment and annoyance. The witchling stood up out of the bush, picking leaves and twigs out of her hair then walked back over to Keelah. She blushed a bit but sat down on the grass. "Ah.....s-sorry about that. I kinda...have trouble controlling my changing. There aren't any other mononokes in my villiage so I didn't get a lot of training."
She took her dark hair out of the ponytail she had it in and brushed her hands through it to ensure she didn't have any bugs or thorns in it. She also groomed her tail, as burrs were horrid to get caught in your fur. It was the usual ritual she took whenever she had transformed unexpectedly. At least when she did it on purpose she could avoid getting things in her fur. She looked back at the boy who seemed perfectly content at skipping class. Sin felt horrible! She had made this boy miss a class he had said he wasn't good at.
"I'll help you with all your homework to make up for missing class! I'm really sorry you had to bring me out here," she looked down sadly.
