 Hi all! It's Kel here. I have, for once in my life, been hit by an urge to quest for a lion from the beautiful Shadows of Africa shop in the B/C forum, run by dustfeather and Meepfur. biggrin And so without further ado... I shall get on with it!

Description: Dark, red-brown with pale gold swirls and patterns decorate his coat, with a ring of black around his strangely silver eyes; Ika is slim boned and dainty, but fast at the hunt.
Personality: Many lions are confused as to whether Ika is really a male at all. He will never grow a mane (ie will probably stop growing at adol stage), and is dainty in his movements, soft-toned in his speech. He loves to speak in a completely enigmatic way, so the one asking the question is not quite sure just what answer they just received...
He likes to think of himself as a scholar, and pretends mightily that the old writings speak to him and can tell him the future, enjoying the prestige this gives him; after all, he looks the part, and who is to know the difference?
He is completely careless of whether someone is good or evil; he thinks mainly for himself, but does not mind others idolising him. He tolerates most people by ignoring them, as long as they do not take offense or become angry at him; he is perpetually smiling and speaking lightly, with a laugh, but always with his silver eyes hooded, unable to see their true expression.
History: Ika can only remember the sand and tall monuments towering out of the desert oasis, as far back as he can remember. He does not care where he came from, or if he even had parents; his favourite tale to tell others is that he was born of the magic of the writings that decorate the eroded ruins. He looks very young always, but speaks with a cleverness and derogatoriness that comes from one much older. He is fond of the little snakes that inhabit the ruins also, as they were the only ones that he could speak with at first.
(Hypothetical) When Nyekendu and Afa find the ruins and plan to make a pride with stolen cubs, Ika at first watches them from the shadow of the ruins but eventually appears, and states that he does not care that they have entered his place, that they can have it for all he cares. And of course, you can be the king and queen! He does not care, and is perhaps seen as just another cub with which to swell the numbers? Though eventually he ends up with his own sort of rank among the innocent young ones that have been brought to the place by Afa and Nyek.Syrius says (pride owner): "Nyek could possibly use him if he thinks he has seer like powers though he would possibly be expected to 'speak to the masses' as a seer and pronounce good things of the pride. Possible future idea. Though they would of course at first plop him down in the middle of the rest of the masses if they see 'potential in him he might be singled out to become one of nyeks more personal servants."
