This is getting us nowhere.
Those were my initial thoughts as I watched the members of the guilds branch off in various directions to avoid the onslaught of attacks. Green, blue and red blurred before my eyes in a mosaic of colors. They were fast. Overly so. There was no chance of his getting in enough hits to take all three of these Elite down.
I chance a backwards glance to the exit. It is far too late for such thoughts no. Retreat is no longer an option.
When would this end. Leaves with sharp edges, like green razor blades, were flung in every direction and as I dodged them one by one the question rang once more in my head.
When would this end? Have we fought enough? My paws carried my swiftly from a burning death as Flamethrowers scattered the field. Haven't we suffered enough?
Slick ice coated the floor, bitter cold flakes struck out at my face. Hadn't we paid with enough blood?
It was raining fire, ice, foliage. The entire room was singing with the sounds of attacks shattered walls and floors. With the screams of Pokemon too slow in their attempts to escape.
When would this end?
In considered the possibilities of ending this charade with a well placed Roar of Time, but worry tugged my mind. I should wait to use it on Eri, I've never used it twice in a row before. Would I be able to use it here and against our final opponent? Or would I waste precious energy trying to hasten our way forward?
I closed my eyes, the options lay before me but I knew not which one to choose.
And then...chaos.
In the split second I had closed my eyes, all hell had broken loose. The windows surrounding the circular room shattered in unison from all sides. Glass fell like rain, littering the floor in sparkling shards.
I could barely move quick enough to avoid being run through by the colorful blades, in my mad dash for safety I noted movement from the corner of my eye.
Through the holes made from the shattered windows came hope. A chance.
The cavalry had arrived.

A sleek green and red form shot across the floor towards the Sceptile before changing directions at the last second and soaring directly up, moments before impact really.
I noted the Grass type follow the flying blur, his gaze directed to the heavens.
When it should have been on the hellfire at his feet, as the Flygon had only been a distraction to a much more dire enemy.

Aunt Venus' tempermant was the same as always, were my only thoughts regarding her latching onto the Grass Elite with her fiery maw and rending him to piece. I would prefer not to give a more vivid description. Actually I'm repressing that memory as I spea-hey when did Aunt Venus get here?

The Flareon was a ball of fury, fire soared to the ceiling and spiraled in a maddening dance around her paws. Were I the bold type I'd have made a 'is it hot in here' joke, but my Aunt was never one for my attempts at comedy so I remained silent as she slung the Sceptile carcass to the side, swathed in flames, and casually strolled over to greet me with her usual, "Solaris, you ******** idiot. What is the meaning of his?"

"We...we are here to defeat Eridanus!" I meekly defended, but she was hardly interested in that.

"And you forget to inform me about it? Didn't you consider I'd enjoy tearing the flesh off of that foul little creature that took my brother from me?!"
Her rage regarding Uncle Pluto's passing had not passed. I doubted it would ever pass. My Aunt was a burning fire of hatred now and she relished the idea of singing Eridanus into ash.

There was no arguing with her. I nodded once, an affirmative, and she snorted in my face to turn her attention to the Pokemon she'd brought with her.
The Flygon, Scarlet was it?, had engaged the Typhlosion as we spoke. She was a friend of Tolin's if I wasn't mistaken and had his same approach to negotiating it seemed.
That being 'tear its ******** head off'.
Where did he get these guys from? Seriously.

She didn't seem to be making a dent in the Fire Elite, though. Her only attack was a quick burst of speed, ending in a Headbutt to shuffle him further along towards the wall.
Confused, I watched and waited for this master plan to unfold. I wasn't dissapointed.
Another figure, I'd not noticed him in distraction over Aunt Venus' entrance, had stepped forward. One shielded arm swung back and the sound of metal cracking against the fragile structure of a skull resonated within the room. The Typhlosion's head bounced off the wall with a sick smack before the elite slumped to the ground.
That....that was an angry Empoleon. I didn't recognize him as well as I did the Flygon but by the looks they chance towards one another it was clear they were friends at the very least.
I was ignored, as usual, as they both sauntered over towards Tolin. Of course, let's all go to Tolin and not me. It's not like I'm important or anything.
bunch of assholes

Continuing...

It seemed for the moment we were saved, but all good things come to an end.

"...where did the Empoleon go?"

The Water Elite had vanished, or more specifically he had gone up the stairs in front of us to the next room above. My Psychic pricked with sharp stabs, warning me of what lie ahead.
It was clear. The other Elite were rallying above. Preparing to slaughter us. As I inwardly panicked it seemed that the Flygon had retrieved my grandfather from his prison of vines above.
He stood before us with a scowl, no doubt sensing what I was. A massacre lay ahead and we would most assuredly lose.

"We're going straight to Eridanus." Grandfather said, his voice stern and commanding. He was here now and he was taking control.

"But the stairs-" I pressed, though he dismissed me with a flick of his tail.

"We're taking the elevator."

"What eleva-"

His eyes began to glow with a bright red, the floor beneath us trembled and shook as he wretched it from its support columns. There was no elevator, he intended to make one.
A dome of protect formed overhead, though before it fully closed around us Thunderecho had pushed his way out, his tribe behind him. All except the silver Espeon and Leafeon with similar coloring.
"GO!" The Jolteon cried out, dipping his head in a low bow. "We will hold back the rest of the Elite while you deal with Eridanus. Silver and Glory are equipped with healing abilities. They will prepare you for the final confrontation."

The gray and green electric type's expression was grim. He knew, what everyone else also knew, that neither he nor his fellow tribemates stepping from the platform...would survive. The two remaining kept their stoic expressions and the floor slowly began to ascend upward to the top.

{TAKE A BREATHER POST :> We are moving straight to Eridanus as an apology for the delay. Everyone will be fully healed. Battle instructions as well as the next thread will be posted shortly.}

Victor - Harumi - Aiden - Doku - Maxi
43/50 - 43/50 - 43/50 - 43/50 - 43/50

Maxi, Victor, and Aiden all ceased their attacks when the battle drew to a close. It would seem that Venus of the Royal Family would be taking this victory for her own. Not that any of the three were complaining, fame and glory were nothing compared to... not dying a horrible death. So, as the battle ended, the three males cracked their joints and were content to relax for a little while.

Harumi panted softly when the fight came to a close, shaking a bit of sweat from her face as she trotted toward her older sister. "Man, that fight was crazy!" The young Eevee exclaimed. Even this far, it didn't look like the guild had suffered many casualties, if any at all. For the most part, they were all in one piece. "How're you feeling, Skye?" The cut on Harumi's forehead had already scabbed over, there was now just a bit of dry blood clumped into the short fur on her face. She barely even seemed to notice it.

Doku just stared. Staaaaaared. "... Mother?!" He exclaimed, staring at Venus as she arrived at the fight. "What're you doing here?! Seriously, is nobody in my direct family staying home for tea?!" The poor Leafeon was going to develop an ulcer if he kept all that worrying up. "Zori! Look at this! Even my mother is here! Does nobody know what 'stay home' means?!"

Skye & Zori
-37/50- -Invincibility Stone-

Zori rolled her eyes, padding calmly after her mate, leafy tail raised in a cat-like greeting. She shifted her gait to a light trot as she approached the powerful Flareon, but it took only a split moment to stop and bow her head in respect for her mother-in-law. Venus, at one point, had been quite intimidating. Now, however, she was just a proud and strong member of her family. Although it bothered her to know how much of their family had their lives on the line tonight, she was more worried for her husband than his mother. Venus was strong and tactically intelligent; she would have the sense to stay back, hopefully. Well, as long as her temper wasn't the part of her in control. She was a lot like Doku, in that regard.

"I've been a warrior far longer than you, my love, and Venus has the strength and the experience we need. I know you're concerned, but we have little choice, Doku." Her voice was calm as she pressed her nose lightly to his shoulder, golden eyes dark with regret at the truth of her words. She didn't like the risks they were being forced to take, certainly it wasn't "okay" with her, either. The problem with having people stay behind was simply that they would be lacking in strength. One able fighter could mean the difference in whether or not they emerged victorious, and this wasn't a battle they'd survive the loss of.

She resisted the urge to sit and rest, instead opting to keep her body in motion while they awaited their destination at the top of their make-shift "elevator". Eridanus was at the top of the tower, as was entirely cliché. It made some strategic sense, so long as he had an escape route. They'd have to hunt down whatever his escape route happened to be, however; it might give them that advantage that they needed. Her paws kneaded the air one by one, shifting in turn as she lifted and stepped with each leg. She was still more focused on staying alert and focused on the task ahead, and she couldn't afford to allow her limbs to stiffen up. Muscles kept in motion would allow for better reaction times in battle, and prevent them from aching or burning and diving her attention. That was why there was a sort of "cool-down" period after a harsh day of training.

"I hope we're ready for this," she murmured under her breath, her ears pricked forward as she stared up toward the top of the towering pillar they stood in.

- - - - -

Skye frowned, letting herself slide down onto her belly. The stone felt cool and soothing on her delicate, miniscule frame. She couldn't help but to feel weary; she'd never fought in fight after fight before. Generally, battled were short-lived, but she'd been up for nearly a day and a half without rest. The night before had been full of panic and desperation from all, only to fall back into routine... sort of. If you could call a two-hour hike up a mountain "routine". The trials which passed before that were more hectic, though. She'd learned a lot about herself, in the space of a night. This battle, their fight to end all fights, it was teaching her just as much. She just wished that she could have the chance to catch her breath, or smooth the knots from her shoulders.

Harumi's voice caught her ears, and the older Eevee immediately twisted around, hauling herself back onto her paws and stepping forward to touch noses with her sister. The younger sibling was bright-eyed and excited, but the strain of what they were doing was obviously wearing on her just as much. She was so brave, Skye realized. She couldn't help but wonder if Harumi herself realized exactly what she was putting herself through. They would make it through, she decided; there was nothing strong enough to stand in their way, when they all worked as a team in the way that they were today.

She sniffed a little at the gash on her sister's forehead, only pulling away as she recognized the wound to have already sealed itself over. They'd likely have to do a serious amount of bathing, after this. The amount of grime, intestinal fluids and blood that had found its way onto their bodies was pretty disgusting, but it was all the more disgusting to think about it getting into their own injuries. With any luck, they wouldn't have to deal with infections, but Skye didn't really want to take chances on that. She, for one, valued the idea of having her body clean and healthy. "Tired, mostly. How about you, Haru? Is your head bothering you at all?" She was concerned for her baby sister, even if she was anything but a baby anymore. Dark eyes trailed down the injury on her own shoulder, and she grimaced. Her violet-furred shoulder was heavily matted with blood, and it seemed to have swollen slightly already. Still, it wasn't hurting as badly now that the bleeding had finally stopped. It coud be tolerated for now; complaining would do her no good, in a situation like this.

User Image Finian's gaze was latched onto the fleeing Empoleon with battle lust; there was just so much going on at once that it didn't seem too many felt need to take chase like he did. All of a sudden allies, stronger than what have been fighting along side of them already, appeared and done away with two of the Elite, but it was clear that there was still more to come for them and letting this one get away and regroup wasn't the best for them as a fighting whole. He was just about to take chase on his own with the intention in mind of at least drawing the attention of others in the process. Not that he was shallow or anything and didn't want to die alone; it just seemed like a genuine opportunity with all the better odds if his fellow guildmembers gave their aid. Just as he was to reach the edge of the floor and head for the next flight of stairs where he had seen the water type take off to, he was stopped suddenly by what felt like a previously unseen Protect shield. This battle was over and they were moving on. He let out a sigh, regretting that he ever had his mind crowded with thoughts of acting on his own. The higher ranked guild members were clearly handling this as efficiently and stratigically as possible. If left to his own intentions, there was a good chance he would even be dead right now. If he wasn't fully dedicated already, the idea sunk in even more that he owed his life and allegiance to his superiors even if he didn't have much to give. Curiosity though caught his eye as the floor beneath him began to hesitantly move upwards. It seemed they were crashing their way right to the top from here if the psychics in charge of such lifting could manage. Hopefully his own weight added to this platform was worth the effort in the end; he would be giving his all surely. It was strange though, from where he stood, it was apparent that the group of peculiarly marked Eeveelutions from earlier were staying behind outside of the hastily put together vehicle of sorts. They seemed rather powerful, and their healing abilities on top of that were of use already, so...why weren't they coming along for this final battle? He studied their collective expressions for a moment and feared the worst. Not wanting to think about it any more, the Absol stepped away from the edge; his head hurting ever so slightly from previous battles and the hit he took to the Protect shield just now. He sighed and took a sphinx-like seated position on the floor away from the rest of the collective. His entire body rumbled with the vibrations of the airship; it must have been taking a lot of energy to keep it in motion. He felt for and wished he could contribute more to the cause, but his powers were the exact opposite, if anything disruptive to the Psychic types that were clearly behind this. Left to himself his mind trailed all the more. If those Eeveelutions from earlier were simply putting themselves up as simply nothing more than meat shields for the rest of the lot...Then why were they being wasted as such precious resources? Why wasn't he put up for sacrifice instead?... He wished to object and speak up on this matter, but he was filled with a sudden sense of vigor and worth he had never felt before; he wouldn't have made it this far, the Pokemon fighting at his side wouldn't have kept him alive if he wasn't worth at least something. He would fight, if not for the sake of the guilds, then at least for those who have fallen before him.
