QUEST FORM

Basics ::
xxxxxName: Concorde
xxxxxNickname(s): Con, Prince
xxxxxFaction: Diamonds
xxxxxAge: 25
xxxxxHeight: 5'3"
xxxxxBody Type: Slender with no apparent muscle tone, he's a thinker more than a person that would work out a lot, but appears to be concealing some kind of inner strength.

Poké-basics ::
xxxxxPokemon: Reuniclus
xxxxxPokemon type: Psychic
xxxxxNatural Ability: Magic Guard: Magic Guard prevents indirect damage, such as from Hail, Toxic, Curse, or Leech Seed. It does not prevent status problems, but rather protects from damaging effects. Damage caused upon being switched in, such as Stealth Rock, and Recoil is prevented except from using Struggle, and HP loss will still occur when using Belly Drum or Substitute. If a Pokémon with Magic Guard causes a Pokémon that used Destiny Bond to faint, the Pokémon with Magic Guard will also faint. Magic Guard will also cancel out Life Orb's HP deduction without negating its power boost. Additional effects such as trapping from moves like Fire Spin and Attack reduction from a burn are not prevented. If paralyzed, a Pokémon with Magic Guard will suffer from the normal Speed reduction but cannot be fully paralyzed. Magic Guard does not prevent damage from confusion or the effects of Perish Song. Magic Guard will prevent the user from being poisoned by Toxic Spikes.
xxxxxPerma: No
xxxxxMoveset:
Trick Room: The user creates a bizarre space in which slower Pokémon get to move first for five turns.
Psychic: The target is hit by a strong telekinetic force. It may also reduce the target's Sp.Def stat.
Focus Blast: The user heightens its mental focus and unleashes its power. It may also lower the target’s Sp. Def.
Protect: It enables the user to evade all attacks. Its chance of failing rises if it is used in succession.

Personality ::
xxxxxPositive Traits
Soft-hearted || If there was a ranking for the most tender people in Wonderland, there's a good chance that Concorde would rank among the very top. He's the motherly figure you can expect will offer you a nice cup of tea on a cold winter day, make you a warm meal when you seem starved for no apparent reason other than simply helping you or treating your wounds when you're hurt even if you have just attacked him seconds ago. Forgiving, almost to a fault and almost able to empathize with anyone and everyone, he will never hold hard feelings for longer than mere seconds, a behaviour deemed by many as foolish and idiotic, almost childish and naive. When asked, Concorde claims that eventually all the kindness you have given away returns rolling back to you in one form or another seeing how friends will surely more readily help you than enemies and it's truly sad to have to fight with others to begin with. That being said, Concorde is also the first to step up when he sees others fighting and will most often try to get them to resolve whatever tension there is. For that reason he always carries cookies that he bakes himself along to help everyone make amends with them.

Pleasant || An overall case of a rather pleasant individual, he's often good company to keep around, with his subtle sense of humour easiness to open up to people as well as listen he's a nice asset to any conversation and will keep it afloat against all the odds able to listen and deliver at the same time in a fairly accurate fashion. He's non-judgmental no matter the situation and wants to believe that he's largely unbiased when it comes to making decisions. Seeing how his soft heart makes him sympathetic, empathic even, he is also able to give the right advice when he deems it appropriate; but only then, as giving advice randomly may come off as rude or an attempt to look down upon others, something he'd prefer not to be associated with; however when he has been at fault, he will humbly accept criticism and try to learn from his mistakes.

xxxxxNeutral Traits
Undemanding || To go along with his other traits, Con is quite undemanding. You don't need to be special or do anything in particular for him to take a liking to you as he's predisposed to like everyone in any case. Because he doesn't require people to be things they aren't or do things they don't feel like doing he sometimes ends up slaving away to fill in the chores nobody will help him with and will rarely ask for help even when in need. Because of that, people that know him can choose to either offer to do things for him when they see him struggling or pointedly ignore him to take advantage of his personality when it comes to that.

xxxxxNegative Traits
Change intolerant || As hard as it is to get to understand how such a person would not readily embrace change, it is true, and one of the things Concorde hates the most is his normality, his day by day life shaken up by events out of his control. Because he is used to a tidy, clean lifestyle being forced to be any other way causes him a lot of grief, and just thinking about it can make him nervous and jittery. This also forced him to plan ages ahead and can prove to be a headache for others when in dire situations Con might try to analyze all the "ifs" and "maybes" before settling on a course of action.

Untruthful || Often used in order to conceal sad news or events when talking about them or diminish his own successes so others won't feel bad, Concorde has to tell small lies here and there on a rather regular basis. White lies as they may seem, they're still lies, and although Con has been only rarely brought face to face with the consequences of someone finding out about it he is always fretful despite making a perfectly conscious choice when telling them.

xxxxxLikes: the warm afternoon sun, relative quiet, helping people, the company of other Pokémon as well as that of books, soft, relaxing music
xxxxxDislikes: conflict, anything that can cause harm to others in general, bossy and selfish people that take advantage of others, extended periods of cloudy weather, tea that hasn't been brewed by him personally
xxxxxFavourite Food: tea, sweets and confectionery, cotton candy in particular, other forms of sugar, oranges
xxxxxHobbies:
Reading: As much as he enjoys the company of people, books also happen to be excellent companions for the most quiet hours of the day. Whether it is an encyclopedia, dictionary, poetry or prose, he is happy to indulge in all -with moderation-.
Baking: While being mostly of some renown for brewing tea, Con also loves to bake. The sweets he makes he likes to use as ice breakers or offerings to people in order to quell their fighting. It doesn't always work, but it's the thought that matters most.
Memory Games: While not entirely fair, as his species is known to be highly intelligent, Concorde loves to play memory and question games, by himself as well as with others. It is one of the few ways he has to put all the irrelevant knowledge he picks up reading to good use.
xxxxxInterests:
Recipes: Because the perfect cookie will always be the next one...
Medicine: Yet another way to help others; if you can mix up ingredients to create the perfect tea... it can't be that hard to do the same for potions, right?
The Origin of Species: Where did the Pokemon people of Wonderland come from? Con's curiosity will never be satisfied until he finds out...

xxxxxFaction Opinion: He's perfectly happy to belong to the neutral faction since there isn't any conflict there, and is happy to have people over at any given time for tea.
xxxxxAspirations: Con isn't too ambitious, he would like to be able to cease all fighting if that was possible, but since that isn't an option he's perfectly content with simply focusing on perfecting his tea-making skills.
xxxxxFears: Chaos and discord. Concorde's greatest fear is that the Diamonds will eventually lose their power and there will be no neutral ground to stand between the warring territories of Wonderland.

Employment::
xxxxxTitle: Emerald Prince (after his natural coloration as well as the beautiful, vibrant color of fresh tea leaves)
xxxxxJob: tea-maker for the faction of diamonds, his exotic brews are of some renown across the entirety of Wonderland, however. His strange recipes for teas aren't documented anywhere, he uses his incredible capacity for memorization to keep all the information neatly stored away in his head.

Appearance::
xxxxxHair: blond, fading to green towards the bottom, it's shorter in his earlier years but he grows it long later on, often styles it in a simple ponytail.
xxxxxEyes: Large, intimidatingly honest, almond-shaped eyes, twinkling in pleasant green colors that seem to brighten or become more dim with the weather.
xxxxxSkin tone: generally pale, he dislikes sunbathing for large amount of times and instead of tanning prefers to keep his skin fresh and hydrated.
xxxxxPalette:
xxxxxClothing: Depends on the season and mood, prefers soft, fabrics and plain clothing, embellished by small accents and jewelry. Not too flashy, not too simple.
xxxxxAdditional: Reuniclus possess an external psionic armor, Con keeps his own hidden away when he doesn't need to use it and only dons it when he needs to battle. When he is hit by external sources, causing his magic guard to activate, it becomes visible around him, notifying others of its existence.

White Oblivion

Okay, heyo! I'm gonna talk about things in order, from top to bottom, so you can run on down it with me !

First off, I think this is a pretty good premise for a character xD You're aware that Concorde is like a little ol' granny, right? That's adorable, hahaha. With a little polish, I think you'll really have something here.

Pleasant: Now, you did a good job with the last trait with showing how Concorde circumvents having to be stern in order to break up the conflicts he detests so. What I want you to think about in this trait follows the same concept: When does Con's pleasantness fall away? Does he really have the same degree of tolerance for troublemakers as he does for those who have been harried by them? You do a good job of explaining the downsides of this trait, but I'd like to see the exceptions, if they exist!

Change intolerant: My big problem with the first half of this trait is the comma placed between “normality” and “his day by day life...” The breaking up of the clauses without a connecting word of some kind really confused me. You use a very long sentence structure with most of your traits, which isn't a problem for me, I'm the same way, but it gets sort of strange at this specific section. Consider revising it for clarity.

Now the other portion of the paragraph confuses me for another reason entirely. You say he analyzes the “ifs” and “maybes” of a situation, but he's already planned “ages ahead.” Doesn't this mean that, by analyzing a situation as its urgency grows dire, he's effectively changing his already-laid plan? I don't think his analysis of situations needs to go away, I just think you should move the time frame back a little, you see? It would make more sense if he were nitpicky about laying down his plans as opposed to when they've grown dire!

Untruthful: I don't think this is a bad trait at all, and I actually want to comment on something I'm picking up on: Con is sort of full of himself and condescending, appointing himself as the arbitrary mediator of disputes and having an aversion to making others “feel bad” - showing that he feels like he's better. This isn't a bad thing. I think it's a very strong flaw, the good kind, that might be something you want to keep in mind to give him a little bit more depth. If you want to play him that way, that is! I just like to shoehorn depth and conflicts in everywhere I go xD

Interests – The Origin of Species: I just wanted to say, it's actually considered common knowledge that Alice dreamt up all the different pokemon people of the first generation! It's like a tale that's passed down from parents to children, and Con would know or could learn that easily enough. If he wants to be a skeptic, though... that's another thing entirely ;D

Okie doke, livie, that's all I've got for now, and I'll see you when you edit again! Good luck <3

Dakka Domi

OTL With this and that and RL this took me five aeons to actually finish... I'm terrible... terrible...!

Pffffft little ol' granny~ xD I love your description of him Domi, and yes, I'm aware... he does indeed fit the concept almost entirely -but now I'll need to restrain myself from picturing him as a granny knitting on a rocking chair... <3 I actually had this very... gentle idea about him, the first thing that came to me was how mothering/motherly he felt, supposed that was just who he was, his essense so to speak.

For being pleasant, I honestly couldn't think up of a situation when Con might fail his attitude but I let the idea sit over the time I was AFK and revised, and actually did come up with corrections~ Then I had trouble actually revising the description, because he tolerates the troublesome party just as much as the one in disadvantage but is more prone to show additional kindness towards the second unless... yes I ended up with a pile of exceptions.

Quote:
Pleasant || An overall case of a rather pleasant individual, he's often good company to keep around, with his subtle sense of humour easiness to open up to people as well as listen he's a nice asset to any conversation and will keep it afloat against all the odds able to listen and deliver at the same time in a fairly accurate fashion. However hard it is to provoke him out of that state of being he might turn a tad more stern or absolute when he feels that one of the members holding a conversation is trying to take advantage of others in it or push them to say things they don't want to talk about. And as for people that bully others or enjoy playing practical jokes on others to laugh at their misery Con will on occasion even go as far a lightly reprimand or talk the troublemakers out of their way in an attempt to help them. If someone causes trouble for a reason other than to just have fun or bully others, for example if they have to or were made to or perhaps because they are in a rather confused state of being and so on so forth, Con is prone to show them the same degree of kindness as with any other.

That was... such a silly punctuation plus grammatical error. And I want to pride myself in my english. //sobb/ fixed to the best of my abilities.
And indeed Domiii you are right about the discrepancy. >< Hoping for an overall fix...

Quote:
Change intolerant || As hard as it is to get to understand how such a person would not readily embrace change, it is true, and one of the things Concorde hates the most is his normality and day by day life shaken up by events out of his control. Because he is used to a tidy, clean lifestyle being forced to be any other way causes him a lot of grief, and just thinking about it can make him nervous and jittery. This also forces his to plan ahead just in case something goes wrong, but in doing so he often struggles with his sense of what would be right and all the different possibilities in advance without any guarantee that any of them will ever be put in action. In any case, he does believe in being better be safe than sorry despite how tiring it may prove to be. In addition, most likely because of all the preparation that goes into planning, when people don't seem to follow along well with his plans he often appears to stiffen up significantly, refusing to recognize as possible a course of action outside of everything he has so long come up with.

Somehow, you nailed the one point that has been escaping me the other night when I was writting on Con's behalf. I spent the longest of time over this trait, trying to figure out how to give more depth and how to escape making him terrifyingly shallow despite being so mild. >< Revised and added things~ I looked and looked for the right adjective to describe the revised trait and the closest I came to is "lordly" since it's the only one I could think of that entails a certain degree of arrogance, condescending behaviour and a dignified/gracious personality. I am not sure if it's a perfect description however... =/ I think I'd like some input on that also...

Quote:
Lordly || More of a downside to his personality rather than a good thing, Concorde tends to often think of himself as more than everybody else around him, and as better educated, wiser, older, more skilled, so on so forth, he feels obliged to take care of everyone and shepherd them along to the 'right' path -or whichever he believes is right anyway. However, at the same time he tries to diminish himself in the eyes of others not to seem all that better. In a sense, it's almost as if he's afraid to be hated, always wanting everyone on his side and no enemies at all. This also leads to him having to tell white lies to comfort others or hide small facts and present things in a manner that isn't entirely truthful. He may often also hesitate to pick sides when he has to because he prefers the gray zone more than anything. This has led to trouble in the past when either his lies are exposed or his friends grow tired of his holier-than-thou act he always appear to be pulling.

As for the Origin of Species... for Con that's like trying to convince a scientist that the creation of the world can't be scientifically approached xD; he thinks that the whole story with Alice is as believable as the statement that rivers flow upstream or that rain rises from the ground to the sky... which might not be entirely impossible considering this is Wonderland; and because it's Wonderland, okay, the Alice story might have some credibility but there has to be more, right? xD;
