"It seems easy enough," he said looking down at the ground. The only tool he had on hand was his gunblade though he doubt that would make a good shovel. "What should we use to dig." He then scratched his head. "All I have with me is my gunblade but it would be better for putting holes in the ground then digging up something."

She chuckled "I have some trowels" she walked over to her backpack and pulled two out returning with them handing him one with a smile "Try this on for size" she winked before picking a spot to start and taking off her jacket, this was going to be hard work and she was going to get really warm. "If you'd like you can put your jacket over there" she motioned to the side of the dig "It's going to get hot working"

Squall nodded. He took his jacket off first with one sleeve at a time. He rather not have to wash it or have to send it to the cleaners. Then he looked at his shirt. It was white so getting more dirt on it would be harder to clean. He hatted do laundry. Squall folded his jacket and put it on top of a pile of rocks. He then took his shirt off and folded that up as well and placed it on top of his jacket. "Alright lets get started then. Where do you want me to dig?" he asked picking up the trowel.

Ailith smiled not about to complain about the half naked guy about to get all hot and sweaty next to her if nothing else she would enjoy watching him work, couldn't blame the poor girl out in the middle of no where or digging through research by herself she really didn't get out in the dating scene much, it was a nice change of pace and she still got work done. "Why don't we start from this wall and work our way to the other" She drew her paw across a small straight mound of dirt indicating the wall she meant "Things have a tendency to end up there" she smiled

"Alright," replied Squall grabbing the trowel and heading over to the pile of dirt Ailith pointed to. He kneeled down and began to dig at the pile of dirt. "So what should I be looking for while I dig?" he asked digging a little slower as to be careful not to destroy something that might be fragile. This was a little fun compared to being at home doing nothing. He didn't do much of anything anymore.

She smiled, he was interested and honestly willing to learn, she liked it, maybe he could be her sexy apprentice she can take in the field and teach, if his weapons were any indication the dangers the field could hold would be something he would be able to handle and the was the biggest concern. "Anything really, everything tells us something, dishes tell us where they are from, their social status, shoes where they have been maybe even what they do for a living, clothing tells us the same, personal momentos give us a feel for who they were as an individual, a personal connection to them, everything has a story, everything teaches us something." It could almost her her life philosophy to observe and learn from everything around you "If you're in doubt just call me over and I'll take a look"

Squall nodded and proceeded to dig. He did it slow in case he hit anything. He didn't want to break anything. Squall continued to dig deeper into the dry earth and the sound of of the dry earth scrapping against the shove caused some discomfort in his ears. The sweat off his neck rolled down his back. Squall often stopped to see what Ailith was doing. He would make sure it was quick but he did have a slight smile on his face every time he look back down at what he was he was digging. "hmmmm," he pondered to himself. He noticed something in the ground it was a fragment from something it look like it was a piece of a pot or something.

Ailith watched as he worked pleased by his care and determination, she rarely had a helper willing to stick around very long without getting bored. She had dug out along the edge of the wall where she thought items had the best chance of collecting and staying in decent condition finding a few sticks and stones but little else. When she heard him 'hmm' she looked up a little hopeful he'd had better luck "find something?"
