This thread will be used to share ideas for new role play settings/worlds. Everybody has the right to share his/her idea here, as long as it's a serious and original one.

The rules
1.: Thou shalt not discuss the ideas here. They shalt be discussed here. exclaim
2.: Thou shalt not use an idea you stole from somewhere. Of course, it's likely that the idea isn't 100% original but inspired by certain media. But if it is just a copy of some Anime series or game, it shalt not pass, especially if it's not even good. There might be exceptions though.
(Also, please give credit to the inspirations.)
3.: Be descriptive. You don't need to write a book (yet) but more then few lines would be good. Also, the better described it is, the more likely it will be accepted.
4.: Don't be angry if we don't accept this setting.
5.: It's clear that not all settings are happy worlds. But if one of them is clearly racistic or extreme, it won't be accepted and the writer will be banned.
(This doesn't mean that there is no racism or something in the game but that the game supports these ideas.)
6.: If you change the idea due to criticism or personal developement, do that here as well and don't write a new post but mark the changes, preferrably in a new color.
7.: Be creative. The setting doesn't have to be overly realistic or serious. It doesn't have to be perfect but as long as it is interesting and if you want to play it here, just post it.
8.: If you post a setting here and if it's taken, you will have to put loads of work in it because you will also be responsible for the RP. If you aren't ready for it, write that down in your post and if you can't do it alone, ask the crew for support.

The source of life

It is a deserted world. Literally. The desert reaches as far as ones eyes can see, there are rarely springs or havens. Life is hard here and just few plants and animals stand the unforgiving nature and there are even fewer Domasana left. The thinking ones are dieing slowly, less children are born. There is no food, many of them start looting the old ruins in the sand, others steal from their own kind, many wander around, forced to become nomads. Even the power of their gifted children can't save them... but there is hope. The ancients know a legend about a large building in the middle of the desert, higher then the highest mountain. This building should've been the source of all life on this world and maybe a sacrifice would please this artifact and let it make plants grow in the desert again, like in ancient times. But getting there is hard, the desert is unforgiving, there are raiders and dangerous animals. And also, there is the mystery of an old god of the desert, a cunning being whose intentions are never clear. He might help or doom the people... But still, the ancients are preparing an expidition towards the artifact... The journey shall begin.

(Post-apocalyptic, mystic setting, more background information in mind. Inspired by the PS3-game 'Journey' which I never played.)

Sample:
The sand was everywhere. Beneath the clothes, in every fold, rubbing over the skin, making it sore. The small particles of salt in it make it a hell of a painful experience for those who aren't used to it.
Vigil presses his body against the sand and the wind. It hurts but he's used to this kind of pain. That doesn't mean that he likes it though. As if the other travellers, he is edgy but he doesn't complain. He can't change the wind. Well, in fact... he can. That's what the whole journey is for, the whole mission. He wraps his arms tighter around himself to offer as few surface as possible for the wind, his eyelids pressed together to tiny slits. The clothes help a little but just a little... Some of the other ones are cussing but he keeps the mouth shut. He doesn't need sand there as well.
One of the other travellers falls down. Vigil stops next to him and helps him up, his eyes closed meanwhile. The wind's so hard that it can knock people down. Sand everywhere. It's impossbile to see anything. Just the sand on the ground and in the air...
Then, suddenly, he feels something below his feet. A slight vibration... he thought that it's an imagination, hopes it and prays for it. Maybe, it's another dream, maybe another test by the sandman... But then, he feels it again, stronger this time. His eyes widen in shock, when he turns around to the others.
"WORM!!! RUN!!!"

U3-27B

U3-27B. A small planet, one of thousands. A mining colony and interstellar prison facility. Not a very special place. Until one day.
The incident. Mining and security robots are going rouge suddenly. Ships crash, power goes out. And the terraforming facilities that should've provided clean air turn against their creators, spitting out toxic gas. The weather changes, the environment becomes the peoples enemy, heavy EMP-storms destroy technology and make it impossible for spaceships to start or land. The survivors flee in the mines, equipped with high-technology life support systems. And suddenly, there aren't 'prisoners' or 'guards' anymore. It's a terrible mess, things are going sideways, chaos, anarchy. And this is the world you live in. And this is just the very start of the story...

(Inspired by the great game 'Mass Effect' and the book 'Metro 2033'. The setting itself is way more detailled then these few lines.)

L&MR

It's september, the year 1825. The engineer George Stephenson is on a volatile mission, travelling between the british metropolis Liverpool and Manchester. His mission is to map out the route between these two important cities so that a new mode of transport can be built there, for the the greater good of the whole empire to improve the economical productiveness of these cities. These days, all goods were transportated via waterways, controlled by the local noble landlords who used their power to demand high custom duties. This slowed down the trade between the cities, raised the prices and was a burden for the whole empire. Though it was illegal to measure out the country without the permission of the landlords, especially the Marquis of Stafford. If the area is measured out, the authorities can confiscate it on behalf of the King. Before, the landlords have the right to arrest or shoot illegal trespassers. They will do everything to maintain their power. So Stephenson needs a hell of a crew to fulfill this mission, for the sake of the whole empire.
